Did yahoo pay any severance for the employee lay off that happened?
Answers: Yes, and the severance package is very generous. We are officially "on notice" for the next 60 days, with pay and everything continuing except we don't go to work - YAY!
In addition, we were not locked out of the buildings or our system access until 5pm. They even told us that we could spend the rest of the day sorting through and uploading any personal stuff we had online.
I am (was) an administrator with root passwords to all of Yahoo's storage severs, and I was very impressed to discover I still had all my access when I returned to my desk after being given the word at ~10:30am. So there are still little corners of the Yahoo spirit alive and well - like the trust they put in their employees.
After the 60 days notice, we have another 30 days "severance" so it's almost 3 months of pay and benefits we are getting. I feel that 3 months of pay and benefits is very generous - the next waves of laid off employees will undoubtedly not fare as well :-(
International traveling agency?
My parents just invested to start an international traveling agency, and they are contained by the process of bringing it to life.I am allowed (privileged) to start planning, mostly only just to get an belief of what we have to dance through, etc.
I have a few question:
(I already know about the L-1 visa)
- what federal and state permits/licenses would the company stipulation?
- other legal issues to be aware of?
- where on earth in America would YOU pilfer your foreign friends to?
All other information are appreciated :]
Answers: there's no special permit/license required for travel companies. you just stipulation to register with the governing body and get adjectives the documents in. you should catch a lawyer to do this, and it one and only takes going on for 1-2K.
i answered the 3rd question on your other forum :]
You get into a very competitive marketplace! Have you setup your business plan, identified the competition, estimated the expenses, the marketing, the revenues, the target clients, and so forth?
What is the difference within music download sites?
my former son-in-law, co-founded Napster. he and his friends suffered terribly within the federal courts over copyright infringements, etc. it seems music download sites resembling Limewire are doing the same entry. i say well-mannered for them. what makes it possible for them to operate approaching Napster without the endorsed problems.Answers: The difference between Limewire and the old Napster is that Limewire is not exclusively for exchanging music. Theoretically you can share any type of directory peer to peer through it, even though the majority of people use it for music. Napster be created exclusively for exchanging music illegally, which is what created the uproar surrounded by the music industry. Its not to say that relations on Limewire don't constantly infringe on copyright laws, but its harder for the RIAA to stir after Limewire for it.
cos its like merely sharing your music with your friends; if you lend a compact disc to someone the cop aren't goin to jump out and ambush you only just like that...limewire isn't in actual fact illegal cus someone somewhere have paid for the songs.
