Is walmart good or bad?
Answers: They are both.
A community get's a Wal-Mart, everyone is excited. Wal-Mart comes in & the place is packed. The problem? The other stores in town are higher priced (because they're not a big corporation & don't get the price deals that Wal-Mart does) so these stores begin to loose business. Wal-Mart keeps they're prices so low & the "mom&pop" stores can't. Pretty soon, those smaller stores go out of business & there's no competition for Wal-Mart now so they slowly & steadily raise their prices. Who wins? Not the community. Wal-Mart goes into our communities & get's their property tax free for 10 years by building in enterprise zones. After the 10 years is up, they then move somewhere else & build another store!
However, when it comes to a family who is on a tight budget, Wal-Mart does appear to be cheaper. Wal-Mart, however, has brought companies to their knees if those companies don't go low enough on their prices. These companies then have to lay people off or close completely.
They also hurt their employees. They come into a commuity & employ lots of people... Great! However, they don't give them enough hours to get insurance so these employees cost society if they have to go on public aid for their healthcare costs.
Wal-Mart? It's almost an evil necessity...

For shopping, they are great.
For employment? That depends on who is running your local wal-mart.
I worked for the wal-mart in my town and I got fired for not being able to work extra.
I wouldn't think them as any worse or any better than any other company.
They are good for consumers who like low prices, but they are bad for businesses that cannot compete with the low prices.
Different people have different opinions about walmart.
It's GOOD for the consumer because of the low cost of their items.
It's BAD because it takes away jobs from the American people; most of WalMart products are produced in other countries with cheap labor and sometimes illegal labor, such as slave bondage or child labor.

do you know that the majority of products come from china?
we are helping push their economy through the roof.their GNP goes up double digits every year.
in less than ten years they will consume more energy and resources than the states.doesn't that scare anybody?
that's why oil is so much, china is buying all oil futures regardless of cost.
Employer clear?
if you think you are person cheated out of pay from your employer where on earth do you go to hold the information looked at.i work in a factory, and a company took over, the pay envelope has dropped something like $7-$10,000 per employee, we are doing equal work, and have approached the VP nearly it, and they refuse to respond.
what presently?
Answers: If they notified you of the cutback in pay envelope then within is nothing you can do. If you stayed on after erudition of the reduction you signaled that you be ok with it. The company that took over be looking at reducing cost, and in turn tried to drive everyone out of their position by lowering wages.
If they did not support you of the change contained by pay, afterwards you should consult with an attorney roughly speaking a class-action suit against your employer.
Go to an attorney some attorneys offer a free consultation and see if you may do a Class Action Law Suit. I believe when you do this the company is suppose to pay envelope all legitimate fees.
Does anyone no of any management or leadership theories that the worker is important in?? Thanks?
Answers: QUALITY CONTROL: is a theory that Japanese developed and practice. They give the workers the tools to team and discuss improvements in QUALITY CONTROL TEAMS in their own working areas. The team picks a leader to represent them, which also helps develope leadership; Each team's leader meets with the QUALITY MANAGEMENT CONTROL (which consist of managers and supervisors) and make a presentation or demonstration of improvements each team have found to improve their own working areas. These improvements are to increase QUALITY CONTROL on each working area: cut down cost/waste, find the bottle necks, find easier and faster ways to improve production without hurting the quality of work or product, and gives the workers empowerment of their work environment. If the QUALITY MANAGEMENT CONTROL selects and OK's a suggestion of improvement from a team; they help the team and suggest ways of implementing and documenting such improvement . This is only a brief explanation of the process.
Look up QUALITY CONTROL theories for complete info.

The one that leaps to mind immediately is TQM. Total Quality Management as established by Demings does that.
You do have to be on the lookout, however, for the CLUELESS who pretend they do TQM--Demings was EXPLICIT--you follow ALL principles, not just the ones you want to and you don't mess with them. There's a lot of "pseudo-TQM" out there and that's the mark of scammers who don't care about employees or customers or they'd do it right.
cant think of any i guess thats why all my workers said take this job and shove it i aint working here no more.oh wait i heard of this guy einstien i guess his theory of revolution was important or was that evolution.of course you know anyone in a leadership role is much more important then the worker himself.just ask me im debbie dootson.
As Jack Warner of Warner Brothers once said to Albert Einstein: "I have my own theory of relatives, don't hire them."
one management theory that comes to mind is theory "x" and theory "y" styles of management. Theory "x" is the belief that employees don't like to work, and if a manager doesn't give negative reinforcement, then the employees will not do their jobs because they inherantly do not like to work. Theory "y" is the style of management where the manager trusts the employee, and has the belief that the employee will work because that is what they would like to do. Theory "y" supports positive reinforcement.
