when suddenly Crude Oil prices spurt / claiming up - OPEC controlled the production - and this added to the fuel - it has further aggrevated the bad economic chaos.
all countries have to settle the oil imports with US dollars
and OPEC has converted the USD into Gold (few have converted in to EURO) -- this led to capital outflow (for USD)
Simultaneously Gold prioces increased and US dollars valued down - this has cascading effect created economic chaos world over

Banks and lending institutions get excited during war time economies. War time economies are always growing economies. Banks are willing to loan more money to sub-prime borrowers. Eventually the economy declines., This is usually the case after a war because if the economy grows too fast, inflation also grows too fast, and eventually leads to a recession. It is the inevitable.
