Why is internet not free becouse nobody owns it?
Answers: The Internet is a network of interconnected computers originally designed by the department of defense to ensure information can be transmitted through the network even if part of the network is destroyed. Eventually it was adopted by the academic community and soon spread throughout the economy and the world. so no one owns it, although there are organizations that control its use by assigning IP addresses and domain names.
In reality it is not free because you have to pay a service provider to use it. but in effect it is free because you can use it as much as you wish without paying fees for messages sent and information transmitted. You pay for the telephone line or cable connection and for your computer, and for domain names. Because of its structure, the Internet has had a major impact on the development of society.
Who owns the internet?
Answers: The United States Department of Defense.
It is not owned.
It is just a descriptive phrase, it isn't a real thing.
No one actually owns the Internet, and no single person or organization controls the Internet in its entirety. More of a concept than an actual tangible entity, the Internet relies on a physical infrastructure that connects networks to other networks. There are many organizations, corporations, governments, schools, private citizens and service providers that all own pieces of the infrastructure, but there is no one body that owns it all. There are, however, organizations that oversee and standardize what happens on the Internet and assign IP addresses and domain names, such as the National Science Foundation, the Internet Engineering Task Force, ICANN, InterNIC and the Internet Architecture Board.

It is most expected a slightly underhand tactic by the company that called to try and gain credibility by mentioning HSBC. These things are normally generated (as mentioned) by missing one of those tick boxes more or less trusted third parties... Indeed, they are habitually the result of something you have purchased on a credit agreement (television, computer, insurance etc.) that HSBC provide the nouns for.
