Yahoo is such a famous hunt engine that I can't believe a guy who created G00GLE are more rich than the guy who created Yahoo.

Answers:
Fame and fortune don't always move about hand-in-hand. In this case, Yahoo's founders don't own that big a portion of the company. Maybe they gave it away precipitate on and wanted to spend some. They also have to go through the entire dot com bust a few years ago so their stock isn't as large.

G00GLE had their IPO just now and they're trading at a higher multiple for many reasons.

Why do corporations choose to cut hand benefits, but maintain top managment near golden umbrellas?

Everyday you hear this industry or that industry cutting benefits and wages to thier human resources and then hear that the CEO have multimillion dollar retirement package.

Answers:
The purpose of the corporation is, at its essence, to product a profit for the shareholders. When a corporation starts to lose money, it usually has to cut costs. Since most corporations own 80% of their costs wrapped up in family, it seems pretty feasible that the people will embezzle a hit. This can be in lost job, or reduced salaries/benefits. In some jurisdictions, this is well accomplished, while contained by others, employees must be compensated when they are terminated.

The CEO is hired lower than a contract. Typically, that contract will include protections on their employment, and compensation if it ends. There can be different kind of benefits. You have to consider that CEOs regularly last singular a short time formerly they are terminated - even in jurisdiction where at hand are substantial protections (i.e., not employment at will). Once terminated, it can take executives, principally CEOs, as much as two years to find similar employment. To attract the best CEOs, companies have to hold out these protections, or they will lose them to their competitors.

In short, it comes down to basic economics - supply and constraint. There is generally an ample supply of workers to switch the jobs, and a varying constraint for them. At the same time, within is a perceived shortage of competent CEOs, and a generally steady emergency. CEOs are more valuable to a company on average than an average hand, and they are able to negotiate better compensation arrangements.

As far as suggestions of collusion near the Board, I think this is over-stated. The Board sets the CEOs compensation - usually resourcefully in credit of whatever event triggers the payout. While the CEO may carry to recommend the slate of directors, it is up to shareholders to approve. Shareholders own the company; if they don't like what is arranged, they can change it. And if you resembling, or don't like, the out of the ordinary way a company is run, you can bring in your investment choice accordingly. E.g., you can choose to invest contained by Ben&Jerry's - or you can be an activist investor and invest within their competitor and then try to cash it. This can create a market for more equitable policies.

Other Answers:
because it's the top direction that make that decree. Would you decide to cut your own clear and benefits? I think this sucks, the little associates always go and get slashed, but it's usually due to the top managements poor managment of the company. But thats the way it is.

The CEOs are the ones deciding what cuts involve to be made. Why would they cut their own pay? It is pure stupidity...plain and simple. It's one of the reason I like Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream so much - they hold a policy that limits how much the great paid member of staff can make when compared to the lowest remunerated. At least they used to anyways.

Because most CEO's "stack" their company's board of directors with friends and aquantinances. So when they retire, the board sends him rotten with a "golden parachute" and everyone's comfortable except the employee(s).

The management self kept are usually the ones making the decisions to cut general public or benefits. The worst part is the plea for the cuts are usually a direct result of the managements poor decisions. When a company is going down, the upper paperwork and executives are the ones that should be cut. They require the most money, and cost the company the most. This will never happen, becuase indistinguishable people that product the cuts are the ones that should be cut for the company doing bad and not turining satisfactory of a profit.

Bcos CEOs sort policies. And they wouldnt want to cut their own benefits.

The top management surrounded by any company to an extent are share holders, increasing benefits for lower management, where on earth the number is high would curtail the overal net profit of the company. However top command number is very unbelievably low, increasing their benefits is less cost to the company.

e.g. I would increase 10K $ for a CEO contained by package, than increasing 100$ for 10000 employes Because top stratum management are intricate to come by, but employees are expandable. So if you are an hand in our livelihood market be it is hard to fined a assignment and employer knows that, they will pocket you for granted.
