Do you remember when grease be roughly speaking $12.00 a drum surrounded by 1998 and we salaried around $1.00 a gallon for gas?

Now that oil is closer to $70.00 a cask, why isn't gas more expensve than $3.00? Shouldn't it be somewhere near $6.00? Why do race think grease companies control prices? Why would they have ever agreed to $12.00 a vat?

Answers:
Ummm....it wasn't a buck a gallon in 1998. More similar to $1.30. Not sure what the price of a barrel be, but I think it be closer to $25.

I do remember as a kid when gas was something like 26 cents per gallon. And I remember feeling ripped of as a youngster when the price went to 50 cents per gallon.

Other Answers:
I remember paying that much surrounded by 1994. I miss those days!
Damn Iraq war
Most consumers don't follow the price of crude grease because that's just the agency it is. The only point they see is that gas was X dollars posterior in the afternoon and then Y dollars today. With Y > X, that's not so biddable for them, so many are up within arms about it.

And if the price go up, obviously, the grease companies are price gouging...even though the FTC a moment ago concluded that the price is based on supply and constraint. :)
Oil prices are determined by supply and demand for grease.
Gas prices are determined by supply and demand for gas.
When grease is refined, gas is with the sole purpose one of the products made. Others are jet fuel, kerosene, heat oil, and diesel fuel. Refineries are competent to change the mix (within a small range) of what is produced from a cask of oil base on market emergency for those products. Light sweet crude is easier to refine into high significance products than sour crude (high sulfer content). Refining capacity is fixed in the United States, as a result supplies are limited and prices tend to rise in a flash with emergency. When demand for gasoline go up prices rise and, since there is no excess refining dimensions, companies start ot import gasoline (not oil) from foreign suppliers.

Supply and emergency of gasoline tends to be much more local. Local (meaning United Staes) consumption anyone supplied by local (U.S.) refineries. By contrast, supply and emergency for oil is a world marketplace.

Demand for oil (from refiners surrounded by the U.S. and around the world) has be rising primarily due to increasing demand outside the U.S. Therefore, foreign emergency for oil may drive the price up while domestic constraint for gasoline has not risen as at the double.

One final note. The profit fringe of refineries tend to fluctuate a great deal over time. As only just as two years ago, profit margins were massively thin. Today, they are better. Bank contained by 1998, they may have be very suitable. As prices rose, the refinery profits may have fall. Now they are rebounding.
At the current price for fuel, the American consumer is upset, but not adequate to react. If the price be $6.00 a gallon, they would react, and beside a loud voice.
The oil companies know this, and incline the price based on what the flea market will bear. If they thought we would voluntarily pay $6.00 per gallon for gas, afterwards they would charge that.
In reply to the answer about refinery rebounding, only just this year, I think contained by March, but I don't remember, oil companies reported the ultimate profit EVER recorded by ANY company contained by the entire history of the United States.
I'd say they own rebounded contained by a remarkable way.
For the accountants within the audience, please notice I did not say-so highest income, but chief PROFIT, so the argument of their operating cost vs. reported income is null. We're talking bottom strip, after expenses, NET profit here.
Becuase gas will no longer be use . We got E85 ethanol gas in a minute so they can get as much as they can.

Compare the role of nouns executive vs the role of a stockholder?

should be evaluated in maximize shareholder value surrounded by today's financial markets

Answers:
The quiz doesn't make much sense - it's comparing apples to oranges.

A stockholder, arguably, have one primary interest: to maximize the value of the equity they hold, and may or may not own any other relationship to the company whatsoever.

A finance principal is typically employed by a company to ensure that the company uses its capital effectively.

A stockholder would promising want the company within which they hold equity to hold a good nouns manager. Other than that, I don't fathom out the question.

Other Answers:
The stockholders own the company. They appoint the board of directors who hire the CEO who hires the nouns manager. Both the CEO and the nouns manager's job is to create max. shareholder worth.

Is The EXXON / MOBIL boycott working contained by your nouns?

Here the gas price has lowered to $2.52 @ gallon gratitude to the Boycott of Exxon/ Mobil Stores. WE are hurting the. The demand for Exxon/ Mobil have dropped and wal*Mart is 2c higher than THe Giant Exxon/ Mobil. Thanks and let all keep hold of the pressure on them. NO demand More supply. THey hold to sell it at some price. It is close to ICE...It has to move or?

Answers:
I did not know anyone be boycotting them, when did it start? So I guess it is not working here any.

Other Answers:
its not working here. :(

I'm sorry to have to bring up to date you this but boycotting Exxon/Mobile will not lower gas prices. If everyone stopped using Exxon Mobile but kept using gasoline just as much the price would simply budge up at other gas stations due to the increase in constraint. Exxon mobile might lower their price slightly and since people are sensitive to gas prices they would switch vertebrae.

Also gasoline is not like rime. It can be stored for long periods of time.

Please read more roughly speaking this at:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/gasout.asp

If you really want to lower the price of gas you have to moderate the demand for it entirely. If 50% of the associates stopped driving forever gas prices would go down because of the drop contained by demand. But a moment ago buying your gas somewhere else will not work.
Source(s):
www.snopes.com, NPR news report, Economics class It couldn't possibly enjoy anything to do with crude grease prices dropping...

http://www.wtrg.com/daily/crudeoilprice.html

Gas doesn't melt or disappear thoroughly quickly once you put it within the tank. Your rime analogy makes no sense. I suggest you to buy a 1999 (Or newer) Volkswagen New Beetle (Or any other model) next to a DIESEL engine.

Does anyone reflect that gasoline companies should be broken up, resembling AT&T be,to stir up competitive pricing?

Answers:
i dont know if that is the answer but something definately requirements to be done they say they own to price it so high but even after the required amount is spent on research exxon continues to report transcription profits there requests to be some type of price ceiling in place or something
and c.b. the joined states doesnt pay the tiniest when you factor the other costs per gallon we pay such as this period of war in iraq we are in fact one of the highest paying countries

Other Answers:
I dont really reason that would help. All gasoline companies hold SUPER HIGH prices....

Duh. Ever hear of Standard Oil? The United states pays the least amount of money per gallon than any other country. European nation pay resembling 7 dollars a gallon. We need to start thinking going on for how to not use oil instead of whining that the price is so glorious.

I do not deliberate it would help much. While the grease companies have some control over grease prices, a big part of it is the amount grease producing companies choose to make available. If the companies be split up this would increase the amount of control that oil producing countries hold.

I believe that is already contained by effect to a point. I think that anything can be done should be considered. The cheap stuff is around $3 a gallon by me and I drive a large Mercedes SUV. (Requires the 93 octane) Not the smartest choice when it comes to gas conservation. (I get it before adjectives of this happened.) I hope it change soon!

No. Clinton thought that allowing them to combine contained by the early 90's be a good model. So it must be good. iam so barrier sick of high *** gas prices they inevitability to do something

It is funny because most of the grease companies in the US presently used to be under one company call Standard Oil controlled by John D. Rocketfeller. They would abuse their monopoly power surrounded by the oil industry close to 2 century ago. After that, the US Supreme Court had to force them to break into 34 different companies competing near each other. I don't reflect on it's necessary for them to be broken up again..
