Walmart and the confederation, What will happen/?

Walmart has a association in a few stores. Will they close the stores? GO grouping in more? or switch the company name.

Answers:
They will try and close the stores resembling they did in Jonquiere, Quebec, Canada concluding year. Or they might wait and decertify the confederation in a few years approaching they have done contained by other stores. Check out the news story below.

Other Answers:
Wal-Mart is traditionally non-union. Wal-Mart have been specified to close stores with a strong confederation presence. They will never change their signature as it is as popularized as the Coca Cola name. Look to see union's to lose ground to Wal-Mart.

who believes that wal-mart uses slave labor contained by china, and that's why they are so much cheaper?

we shouldn't shop there if that is to say true

Answers:
walmart uses slave labour, but do u seriously muse that abercrombie and fitch doesnt?

Other Answers:
Walmart = store of the beast. stay away. shame on them and I prohibit to shop there. They treat their organization like crap, too. Lower than minimum wage and horrible non benefits. I spit on them ;P*

They use child labor and buy other products from an Atheist / Communist Chinese country. Christian Amricans but the most so you could say Americans prefer product produced by Atheist and made by child labor. Interesting isn't? but true none the smaller number. Bibles printed by Atheist Commies. Hmmmm that's retarded. wal-mart sells duplicate sh it all other department store close to target, k-mart, costco ...sells. the root wal mart can offer prices sightly lower than the competitors is due to soaring sales volume and cheap front labor cost. the store hire matured people as door greeters, pimple facade high university kids for cashiers and retarded ppl like you as floor clerks.
Source(s):
run into a wal mart and see for yourself...as carlos mencia would say; "deedeedee"

Hater's believe that. the truth is some of the commoditie's they provide were made within countries with no or lax child labor law's and the foundation the have no or lax labor law's is thier society are starving because they own no economy ( I be to a few of those countries) walmart is huge no doubt almost it but thier anger is misplaced. im sure they could get batty over something else

No Wal-Mart does not use slave labour surrounded by china. They buy from companies who are efficient and as a rule offer fine employment conditions for that part of China. The best example of the capitalist system working within China is in Shenzen which be the first economic zone for China 15 years age. The employer in Shenzen are have difficulty in finding satisfactory employees and to solve this problem they are increasing salary. This demonstrates that employees own a choice whether or not to work in the factory. If they did not want to work then they do not own to. Slaves do have that choice.
Wal-Mart are cheaper incompletely because of where they source their stock but because they apply the economics of scale, the more you buy the cheaper it should bring.

Jamba Juice: I tried it. It's crap. Mostly rime. Why are they expanding so hurriedly?

Answers:
You can argue that many products are "just river." Coffee, tea, soda, and so on. Yet all of those are multi-billion dollar industries. The "little bit" of flavor is other going to make the difference for drink products.

Jamba have a good marketing development and a good atmosphere surrounded by the stores. More importantly, they're copied the McDonald's concept of making sure the stores are in the best location possible to maximize traffic.

The drinks are market as relatively healthy, so you can win over consumers from that angle. Different society have different taste, so you can't really argue based on that. They be recently purchased by some Service conglomerate, so they're person pushed to expand to generate more revenue for the parent company.

Other Answers:
Because there's a sucker born every minute?

really?? i've never have chunks of ice contained by my jamba juice. what did you demand? maybe the individual who made yours was incompetant. try it again at a different location, and jump with someone who go there like mad and will know what's good. It's a trendy concept and market well. It's a moment ago like how so heaps people expect Starbucks coffee is way overpriced and however Starbucks is everywhere. Jamba Juice stores tend to be in high-foot-traffic locations, they're spur-of-the-moment service, just upscale satisfactory to be "above" fast food and present an impression of hygienic living.

Because not everyone think like you do. Many citizens enjoy the product. That's how you gain expansion.
Source(s):
There's no accounting for taste.

because nearby are a lot of snobby ppl who contemplate its cool to pay for some over priced drinks/smoothies.
Source(s):
i am a stratum 2, my answers are gold. j/k!

Do you reflect Wal-mart is discouraging for the US?

Here are some reasons why it might be discouraging.

HEALTH CARE
Wal-Mart fails to provide vigour insurance to over half its body. Who pays for it? We all do. Wal-Mart workers top Medicaid rolls surrounded by at least 16 states.

WOMEN
Wal-Mart is the subject of the largest class performance lawsuit in history by current and former womanly employees who be paid and promoted at significantly lower rates than their mannish co-workers.

OUTSOURCING
If Wal-Mart were an independent nation, it would be China’s eighth-largest trading partner. Is Wal-Mart trading away America's adjectives to fatten its corporate bottom line?

LOCAL ECONOMIES
For every tentative Supercenter that Wal-Mart opens, two local supermarkets will close. How will this affect your town? Big box stores resembling Wal-Mart spend nearly four times less inside local and state economies as local businesses do.

DISCRIMINATION
Two recent lawsuits by minority personnel and customers have brought to bedside light a disturbing pattern of tribal discrimination by Wal-Mart.

Answers:
when it started out it be, but nowadays your average full time member of staff can't make ends meet--their "work week" is 28 hours and if someone does occur to go into overtime their manager are trained and told to bump those hours into the next week and to cut hours to accomodate them. They also assault their suppliers by buying at a price and then lowering their buying price steadily respectively year forcing their suppliers to go under--I believe it be Gedney who almost went underneath when Wal Mart slashed their buying price. They're also notorious for going away hugantic piles of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, etc. for home gardens out in the expand, exposed to the elements, including allowing them to drain into city water supplies and runoffs into waterway, contaminating them hideously. They've also locked illegal immigrant workers within the store to clean & restock and vanished them locked there till the superior got within the next morning. Another favorite stunt of theirs to verbs is to make workers clock out to unload trucks.
Walmart is also one of the most anti confederation corporations in America--most of those protection cameras that you see is to watch and see if within is union hobby going on on the premises. Their workers have a fund that they can donate to freely for other retired workers allowance fund the Waldens (or whatever their finishing name is) combined donated almost $5,000 in the ending few years (and this is a family that I believe is richer than Bill Gates). All within all Wal Mart is basically the place I shop at because I'm a poor broke *** college student, their ethical practices are non existent to the point that unless you can afford to go no place else you really shouldnt' be going near, like I said I solitary shop there because I poor and broke.

Other Answers:
HELL NO. If anything, it's a benefit, at most minuscule to the buyers.

Wow i didnot know that walmart sucks time of year

no i resembling walmart

I'm really getting tired of seeing everyone bashing companies a short time ago because they are successful.

Heck, if you don't like them, DON'T SHOP THERE!

dunno NO WAY

wal-mart is discouraging for small businesses good for america

In a means of access I do, in a agency I don't.....There prices are EXCELLENT but their customer service, staff members and everything else around WalMart really Sucks the big one.

If you don't work for Wal-Mart, what difference does it net. You are one of those who actually believe the medium and now think Wal-Mart is evil. If you look hard plenty at anything in the USA, you can find shortcoming with it. Get over it already and quit acting resembling a whiney liberal who is jealous because Wal-Mart have more money than you. it's called monopoly and you might wallow in the board game, but yeah unadulterated life sux.

Yep, it's a free country. If you don't like 'em, don't shop in that. At the same time don't try to push your beliefs on others. They can gross up their own minds.

I like Walmart. Every company have Corporate rules and regulations. Not all companies provide insurance for their employer. Is it right, no. What do you want us to do boycott all companies that we swarm is not far to their employees. Then where on earth will the consumer be.

You don't become #1 by self nice, check the history of this country. Do you also think the folks that shop there are unpromising for this country? They could do more for their employees, but what considerable company couldn't? my wife is a long time wal-mart employee as a pharmacy tech. they recompense her well, even donate her cost of living raises. you can't notify me that you never shop at wal-mart. they have everything. so they hire a lot of quantity time employees so they don't hold to pay insurance. they are at least possible paying them so we don't have to support them on welfair!!

YES! I saw the DVD about Wal-Mart!

They in actual fact encourage culture to get welfare, that don't attain enough hours.

Wal-Mart manager backtrack overtime to 40.00 hrs.
Many other atrosities.

NO it is NOT bleak for the US.......now stop asking this interrogate!! yes they are a big threat to us all, they are running out adjectives of the competition . they use unfair trade practices to monopolize their position.
we should be greatly scared...

Walmart also benefits it's communities. Charities, sell products for smaller number for those that can't afford clothes like everyone else. They own created jobs for the public. They do provide grassland insurance the same as other companies beside rules and regulations. They provide their employees beside options to buy stock into Walmart.

If some local stores shift out of business then conceivably they were already not supplying the community as they should. They would budge out of business anyways later except now.

Women are mortal discriminated at any other company whether it's walmart or not.

Walmart does hire alot of elderly people that obligation jobs.

As for trading next to china.... what company doesn't. Even our own Country does it. Why not ask about Mc Donald's, Burger King, Dominoes, Levis, and frequent other Companies that has any dealt next to other countries and or up and left thousands of citizens here in America short jobs.
Source(s):
It does enjoy it's benefits and it's downfalls. Walmart also owns Sams Wholesale and they bought a few chains here and there that do step out of business and they keep thier name.

I hold shopped at Wal-Mart but my favorite discount retailer to shop at is Target and here are five reasons why;

1. The parking lot is glib to navigate and parking is easy to achieve in and bring out of.

2. Once I am done shopping, I am out of the store within 15 minutes after making my purchases.

3. The store is resourcefully organized and the associates who work at the store will assist you in anyway possible for you to be fill.

4. I live the food choices they have at their food nouns and the prices are reasonable.

5. The store is massively clean and a friendly place to shop.

Now to I chew over that Wal-Mart is bad for the United States, no. I do occasionally shop at Wal-Mart but I do not shop at hand a lot because I prefer Target over Wal-Mart. ABSOLUTELY.... They trade junk at elevated prices. If the products were of correct Quality / the price would be low but their "CRAP " is no good. They are getting Union representation immediately so watch the prices soar. Some stores will close ans some states willnot own WalMart.

How do you grain just about the outgoing chairman of ExxonMobil man given a retirement pack of $400 million?

In case you've not already hear about this most up-to-date corporate atrocity, here's the story. Last year, ExxonMobil corporation made the largest profit of any company EVER ($36 billion) and now they're giving their retiring chairmen a packet worth $400 million. Americans are paying the most we've ever had to pay packet for gasoline ($3 per gallon, average). What the hell is going on in this country? Does this not trouble you at adjectives? Is this the best capitalism can do? Good grief...

My husband and I be talking going on for this ealier in the week, and we are both completely appalled that this guy is going to go and get a retirement package approaching this!! It sickens me that we live in a country that would allow something resembling this to happen!! Me, as an average american, continues to scrutinize the gas prices soar, and I can do nothing in the region of it. In the meantime, someone like this is sitting rear legs smiling and ecstatically happy within his retirement!! How do people close to this sleep at night? this damn country. No wonder China will soon leave behind us up as a superpower.

spiteful I love it, he's my uncle and he already told me that I get my own smallholding in federal Texas.

There be a paradigm shift in business around 10 years ago.

Business chagned from moral and ethical to greedy and thoughtless regarding their workers and consumers.

Look at Enron, the telephone companies, or any big business.

Many companies took the focus past its sell-by date of quality and needed to pump out cheap quantity and hold out sourced jobs to other companies near bad economy.

god pls breed me the chairman of Exxon Mobil!! :) While it's a relatively myopic point of view, it's the broad thought that Exxon makes too much money. I'm too apathetic to go explain the full thing for the nth time. But necessarily Exxon has have steady 10% margins. They deal within volume. So, if they ran at nil profit, gas prices would go down 5-10% and that's it, not the dollars that race expect from "price gouging." So, yeah, they could cut a few more cents sour the price, but not that much more.

The 400M that you are talking more or less consists mostly of stock options that he get a while back and vested after a little years. People can argue all year whether executives in nonspecific make too much. The G00GLE executives made 10 billion over the finishing few years. Other tech companies made billions also, which is much more than this person. Buffett's made 40 billion and so on and so forth. The difference is that he's contained by an industry that people look at more closely because it's grease. No one can visualize G00GLE's revenues.

Anyway, to put it slightly in perspective, 400M bad their 370B in sale is .1%. That's 3/10th of a cent at the pump if he had donated it adjectives back to the consumer.

Yes, you can still argue that he be overpaid, but his pay is purely a drop in the bucket at a company that big.

Is Wal-mart impossible for the United States?

Why is it bad for America?

Answers:
Wal-Mart desires to take its own share of responsibility for the workforce it hires and to the communities around where on earth it builds. To date, it does neither.

Sure, Wal-Mart supplies cheap goods to the middle class. But, at what a cost? They do hire lots of citizens, but they don't treat those people properly. Much of Wal-Mart's workforce can't even afford the robustness insurance they offer on what they acquire paid. Even Wal-Mart's CEO have stated that the 'free' healthcare systems may offer better coverage than Wal-Mart's plans. Only Wal-Mart can bring away with shoving stale their employee's health concerns to the state and local free healthcare system.

What inhabitants need to realize is the difference between what Wal-Mart sell and how they operate their business. While Wal-Mart does offer worthy deals on items, the instrument they operate their business is separate from the goods they vend. So, as a discriminating consumer, you have to diffentiate between Wal-Mart the corporation (with shady business tactics) and Wal-Mart the store (out to flog discount items)... it's basically two different things (although still connected). While I agree we entail discount stores, we don't need corporations liable to do anything to make a buck even at the expense of other businesses, workers and the local discount.

Corporate Wal-Mart decides where on earth stores are to be built and how to manage adjectives of the details around procurement of the land, building, construction details and stocking the stores (including tariff abatement and various other incentives to win them to build there). After the store is built, however, then it's operate by the store manager who tries to do the right entry (obviously directed by regional directors and corporate HQ). Likely most, if not adjectives, of the not-so-savory ways of doing business are handed down by corporate WM and not by the stores or the store manager.

Other Answers:
It's not bad for America. It might be fruitless for your local little town USA who might have a bunch of ripened mom n pop stores shut down if a Wal-Mart came to town. But overall, they provide cheap products and employ heaps hundreds of thousands of people, so no, not doomed to failure for America as a whole per se.

How can you say that? If it be not for Wal-Mart, most middle class working people wouldn't be capable of afford all the necessities of time. They provide jobs for the community, and hold been a well-mannered corporate citizen throughout the entire U.S.If you have an axe to grind next to Wal-Mart, I'm sorry. Not really bad, but impossible for the small buisness think going on for it Wal-Mart is so HUGE it makes up 7% of the total U.S. cutback, and is China's #7 world trading partner!

Never because walmart is the cheapest store for regular familys

I really don't appreciate everyone's obsession next to Wal-Mart. For some reason, the medium has labeled them an evil empire approaching they did Halliburton and alot of you people bought it. We truly live contained by strange times..........

"Good will become evil, and evil will become good"........

It's not. Wal-Mart is the largest retail supply chains within the world. It saves US customers $20 million (estimate) a year, not to mention contributes to college students, military family, and other non profit organizations. Now, in attendance are some things they need to work out, such as benefits for their organization, but for the US economy, Wal-Mart is the solid money maker.
Source(s):
International Business: The Challenges of Globalization 3rd. edition (Wild, Wild, Han) Overall, WalMart is probably a lattice positive on the economy.

They sign up a tremendous number of completely unskilled, socially inept and physically unattractive associates who would otherwise be on welfare.

They save consumers billions of dollars and own forced manufacturers to become more modernized.

They do, however, close down many "mom-and-pop" stores contained by the towns where they initiate stores. Just remember that Wal Mart often creates the figment of the imagination of a better bargain. Yes, they can bring advantage of economy of scale. But contained by many cases the consumer get a lower quality product at that lower price. For example, Walmart electronics are cheap, but do they donate such quality brands as Sony? Walmart uses a reverse bidding puchasing style to get the lowest purchase prices from vendors.
Also, they enjoy recently address hiring issues pertaining to women. FYI: Hillary Clinton was on the Board of Directors for comparatively a while. I guess that alone makes Wal Mart evil.
