why is national grid acquire keyspan?

Answers:
Based on my research, both parties are doing it for the money: Natioanl Grid will become one of the largest unconscious gas distributors in the United States, and KeySpans owners will pocket millions of dollars.

Read below:

UK infrastructure group National Grid is tallying to its US acquisitions beside a friendly $7.3 billion cash commandeering bid for US grid and utility group KeySpan. KeySpan is the largest distributor of natural gas surrounded by the US Northeast and the fifth largest in the country.

Robert Catell, the chairman and founder of KeySpan, the Brooklyn-based gas supplier that agreed to be bought by National Grid for $7.3bn (pounds 4.2bn) final week, is set to pocket $27m in lolly once the deal completes. Under the language of Mr Catell's compensation agreement, he must exercise all of the 1.9 million stock option he holds in the company where on earth he has worked for nearly five decades. At the $42 a share that National Grid have offered, his stock is worth about $82m, but $55m of that is to say wiped away as Mr Catell can simply take home the difference between the bid and the minimum strike price of his option. President Robert Fani will take home $3.9m.

Does anyone know the authenticity of paying sponsorship collectors a percentage of the donation collected?

It is possible to pay body of a non-profit. However, is it possible to pay a sponsor collector approaching an ad agent that works for a profit business - bad of commisions?

Answers:
I believe it is legal as long as (i) you disclose it on your Form 1023 beside IRS and (ii) you comply with any state law requiring that the collector (solicitor) be registered with the state.

Also, prior to soliciting funds (whether through its own personnel or an independent solicitor) your nonprofit needs to register near each state that requires such registration. Some cities also require registration. Check near your state's secretary of state or attorney general.

i left the country surrounded by october, and put a hold on a payment till april. the company said no problem. i own now found out that they resumed payments surrounded by january. when i called them they said they be only abel to hold it for three months. on the other hand i paid october and they started contained by january. thats only two. nonetheless they had told me it would be fine to hold compensation till april. also they said the one i talked next to is no longer with the company. also thy are prohibited to reimburs money. yet this is adjectives their companys fault. presently my account is within a negetive because of these unautherized charges.

Answers:
Unfortunately the better business bureau will not help you. They primarily concord with fraud on a larger level. They don't really work to resolve one dissatisfied customer's argument.

I suggest (and have have to resort to this myself before) that you contact the company again...and again and again. Don't be rude or angry, but don't be a pushover at all any. When you don't get the issue resolved beside one person, simply explain to them that you have become convinced that they give the impression of being to be doing the best they can within the restrictions of their authority, and you would prefer to speak with their supervisor. (And don't crash for "someone will get wager on to you" routine. Let them put you on hold..and DON'T hang up. Also remind them that your time is valuable).Work it alike way near the next person's supervisor. Believe me, THIS WORKS if you stay cool and commonsense. If you do it right, not only will you bring your money refunded, you will obtain them to pay for your overdraft charges.

Good luck!! Doesn't this concerned of thing SUCK!!!

Is Amway a moral entity or a desperate entry?

Answers:
The Amway business was well brought-up if you were one of the first folks to get surrounded by. Businesses like Amway are call Multi-Level-Marketing opportunities (MLMs) and mostly made money for the first those to get them started. MLMs work by have people conscript other people to trade something. Each time someone sells or buys an Amway product the character above you gets a commission and the soul above her/him gets a commission to and so on. If you're at the bottom, next Amway won't make you much money. As for products, Amway sell off the shelf stuff that you can buy inexpensively at a Walmart.

what is WACC?

Answers:
Weighted Average Cost of Capital

WACC = [E / (E + D)] * [Rf + Beta (Rm - Rf)] + [D / (E + D)] * Rd (1 - Tc)

E = Value of equity
D = Value of Debt
Rf = Risk free rate (10 yr treasury yield)
Beta = Company Beta
Rm = Expected market return (12% is a perfect benchmark)
Rd = Rate on company debt
Tc = Marginal tax rate for the company

or

WACC = [(cost of equity + cost of debt) / (value of equity + merit of debt)] x 100

A company needs to earn a return on wealth greater than the WACC in establish to create value.

If your WACC is greater than your Return on Capital you are destroying importance (borrowing at a higher rate than you can earn on investing - close to borrowing money at 9% to invest at 4% - doesn't make sense)

Other Answers:
Weighted Average Cost Of Capital - WACC

Should Greg Dyke buy ITV?

Greg Dyke was rumoured to hold put in a bid for ITV this week. Is ITV ripe for a capture?

Answers:
Well they've just rejected a private equity approach, which apparently be linked to Greg Dyke. For a long time ITV have been see as a takeover target due to it's perceived underperformance and for a long time Dyke have been connected to such a takeover.

This report item is from Oct 2004, where it suggests that Dyke might be planning a hijack:

http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/business/media/s/133/133284_greg_dyke_in_itv_takeover_plan.html

Whether he's still planning another approach which may be more appealing to ITV is another matter. Certainly if he doesn't someone else may step up to clear such an offer.

Don't companies adjectives use unanimously official accounting policies? If not, why not?

Answers:
Yes companies are encouraged (required if your company is publicly programmed i.e. NYSE, NASDAQ) to use GAAP (generally accepted accounting practices) HOWEVER GAAP is newly a set of rules that each company must operate within. Some companies interpret these rules differently so they vary slightly from company to company. The GAAP rules also alter from Industry to Industry i.e. GM who produces cars and say a hairdresser who provides a service not a product. The GAAP rules & practices be set up so people can compare industries financial statements within order to evaluate the condition of a particular company for investment and financial anaylasis. There is much more explanation to GAAP as accounting can be enormously complicated but I tried to explain as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Other Answers:
the administration is afraid to enforce the accounting laws. if it get out how over-valued the US markets are, and how companies own been hiding losses surrounded by offshore accounts, and exagerating profits, there could be a severe stock souk crash

I regard different companies require different accounting practice. For example, a law firm will hold a different accounting than a car dealership as the two enjoy different expenses. Many private companies don't. For one thing, GAAP can cost them more on their taxes.
