I wouldn't. I'd enter a dummy SS# and advise them if they contact me that their site is not protected enough for me to place my SS # in that and offer to provide it within writing or by phone to an authorized party.
if you be aware of that the site is not secure next go to the bureau, or call the department and let them know that you are not comfortable giving your personal info such as your SS# online due to net identity theft. Ask them if they already hold the leases from the previous company why do they obligation them again. as for proof of their privacy statment, and after that if you are comfortable giving them the number go to the bureau and give it to them within person.

Im not sure if it is wicked but dont do it. But dont even enter a dummy SS# because it might be a real one. Contact the ancestors who run the website. If they dont have a connect to contact them then that should be fitting enough evidence that they dont trouble about their customers so they dont diligence about their customers sensitive info.

I agree beside the others here that you should guard your SS # for your own protection and try to find another way. Can you bid them or physically stop by their office?

Dont know where on earth you live , but some councils have a buildings inspector who (i'm not sure if you enjoy to pay) will come out and inspect works undertaken by companies who you own a dispute with. Everest self a large company will surely listen to any complaints you own, keep on at them , trade name a nuisance of yourself and insist a director/high horizontal manager inspects the work. You may go and get more done that way
