NTPC has a separate ash utilisation division spearheading its ash utilisation drive, apart from focussing on protected disposal issues NTPC has be involved in promoting ash base building materials. This is one of the priority areas. Towards this, NTPC has set up pilot *** demonstration plants for brick trade at Badarpur, Ramagundam, Korba, Singrauli, Balco, Vindhyachal, Talcher, Dadri.
Also, NTPC has taken a front in using ash for raise the height of the existing dyke at the Super Thermal Power Station located at Korba (MP) & is also using flyash surrounded by agriculture / floriculture (as technology demonstration projects) at Farakka, Rihandnagar, Badarpur.
NTPC has also be providing ash from its thermal power stations to different industries for manufacture of cellular concrete and portland pozzolana cement. It is working within close association with FAM within several technology demonstration projects.
