How is WalMart competent to afford to grant $4.00 generic prescriptions?
Question:
Reason would tell you that it would be nearly impossible to produce a profit. That's what business is for, to make a profit.
Answer:
WalMart make a profit on volume, not margin.
That's the two ways to net profit. Either you sell a short time of something and make a life-size margin on respectively one, or you sell a great deal of something and make a small side-line on all of them.
Both ways are equally valid, it merely depends on the way that your picky business/products move.
Look at it this way: Three dimes are better than one quarter!
So, they will craft up, and surpass, in volume sale (by all the associates rushing to take supremacy of the low prescription prices) what they used to make contained by margin on lower sale.
(Not to mention the extra money they make from the extra products that you will buy from them while you're there at full price!)
Because they are a crafty corporation. And they deliberate about the customer not purely lining their pockets...
do u know how plentiful people would buy the perscription... dont verbs their making the money and more!
you pay $4.00- they charge your condition insurance company or medicaid for the rest
Because the company is trying to make inroads into the prescription pills business. And they are hoping that while you are in within getting your $4 prescription filled, you will do other shopping and buy other stuff. They are of a mind to take the loss on that $4 prescription if they can kind it up in profits from other items you may purchase at duplicate time.
Hi, its called a loss ringleader, i'm in UK but recognize that Wal-mart is a supermarket that sells food largely? It's like putting a box of cereal on proposition for 50 cents, yes they will make a loss on the cereal but they will craft money on what else you will go contained by to buy ie your weekly shop. Its all give or take a few getting you into the store, once there you'll return with your cereal but be tempted to buy other items from them. Hope that make sense! x
Even though a lot of prescriptions cost plentifully of money, most cost very little to label. Therefore Wal-Mart pharmacy can purchase the generic drugs for next to nought. They still make a profit duly equal to what they would for name brand stuff. For example: let say Wal-Mart buys a box of Gen. Tylonol for $1 and sell it for $2, they buy Name brand for $2 and sell it for $4. They will other make a profit.
They transmit the generic manufacturer they won't stock their product unless they can charge $4. Wal-mart call the shots with it's vendor and no company is going to say no to them (Rubbermaid did a few years stern and walmart stopped stocking their products. Rubbermaid is now ruined and Sterlite is all you'll find on their shelves)
Even if the generic companies lower their price to $4, the volume will counter the lower price. Making $4 on one million prescription fills at walmart is better than making $25 on 150,000 fill at Target, CVS, Eckard, Walgreens, etc. People are flocking to Wal-Mart to fill their generic prescriptions, so the generic companies are making their money.
How long do you spend within Wal-Mart waiting for your prescriptions? How much money do you spend? I can assure you, they are not losing any money. Most prescriptions take a minimum of 20 minutes to saturate. Yes they charge you $4. They make much more on what you will spend and what your insurance will wages also.

Which retailer is better? Target or Walmart?
Question:
Answer:
I say Target.
Both of them are well-mannered retalier stores. Wal-mart has the cheap prices. Target have better clothes. I shop both of them.
Depends on what you are shopping for. Walmart is cheaper and Target has a bit better level of goods.
Personally I pick Target. Not getting into adjectives that though, because really you weren't asking WHY.
I prefer Target, because it's a bit more upscale than Walmart and offers better quality stuff. So for things like clothes and bedding, Target is much better, but for the ground rules like shampoo or kitchen stuff, you can't overpower Walmart prices.
Walmart based on price. You are buying necessarily the same stuff at Target and Walmart (made surrounded by china, etc.). Basically, no noticeable difference surrounded by quality. Target is a "prettier" store. If you want to wages extra for that, go nuts!

Are they going to scan our brains while we step shopping?
Question:
There is a news article posted on Yahoo News from Reuters. "Scientists can presently look into the brains of people making a purchase conclusion and predict whether or not they will buy."
What other kinds of intrusions can we expect when everything become commercialized? Sure I use stores too.
Answer:
If you use one of those supermarket club cards at the checkout, they already know everything you have bought surrounded by the past and can generate those checkout coupons catered to your buying preferences as soon as they enter your number.
I doubt that they would be capable of scan your brain (actually pick up the electronic signals your synapses fire off) without truly attaching sensors to your scalp, so no, I would say they cannot scan your brain while you are shopping.
If it get really crazy it will be based on the eye scan similar to in Minority Report. Then they will only just know who is shopping and what they have bought in the past.
Hopefully ethics and politics will protect us but I'm not concrete optimistic.
Everything is already commercialized. I don't have an idea that scanning our brains is going to begin anytime soon, but what scares me is the background mining thing. Now near everyone using credit/debit cards, companies are going to be able to pinpoint consumers they want to target. I am not actual comfortable with someone knowing everywhere I turn and everything I buy. Computers are going to make privacy a piece of the past. With those discount cards that so abundant stores are going to, they are able to digit out exactly how much you spend every week and almost exactly what I feed my kids on any given morning. Thats too much information in my belief.
