Do Corporations own a responsibility to society?

Question:
Answer in yes or no. If yes after what is positive and negative. If no afterwards what is positive and negative.

Answer:
No, they enjoy a responsibility to their shareholders.
no, they don't. the positive of it is that they are only responsible to their shareholders, if you believe that the getting hold of of money is a positive thing. The cynical aspect of it is that corporations have public relations engines to present themselves within a positive light, but this is b o l l o c k s surrounded by reality. Money is the hope.
They have no constraint what so ever. It is the duty and responsibility for corporations to maximise profit at all costs - this is one of the major principles of a capitalist society. Any social responsibility is simply publicity rather than altruism and as such is not a responsibility for the company but a PR stunt.
This is why I will not work for any leading corporations.
I don't think you are self specific enough within your question.
Yes corporations own a responsibility to society but so does every single person as an individual.
Large corporations DO offer back to the community. In the most elemental form by providing employment for the people, benefits, robustness insurance, etc. Many corporations (think Microsoft) give final to the community through scholarships and foundations; medical cooperations (such as Group Health, Virgina Mason, Childrens Hospital) do charity cases as okay as research that benefit the community. Hell, even Philip Morris (tobacco) spends MILLIONS towards working against domestic violence.
So sure, we adjectives have a responsibility to society, and cooperations (at lowest possible in the US) does exercise that responsibility.
The intentions? Well, money and portrait. A better image process more money earned and more money donated funds more tax cuts. I reflect intentions doesn't really matter surrounded by this case, it is the act, the donation, and the difference these contributions make...
Well, rightfully they have no responsibility towards Society. However, more and more we see businesses shifting their behaviours under the pressure of Society. The concept of stakeholders (which includes more than shareholders + staff) seem to be driving a number of company decision now. In my estimation, it does not reveal an acceptance from corporations of their responsibilities toward Society, but a bit an acceptance that the impact of their behaviours near Society can have a positive or refusal impact on their profits! I would not generalise though as some corporations DO feel a responsibility. However, I believe that most are cynical around it!

Question:

Answer:
no customers no business

this must be a rhetorical question
to trade name money. duh.
money
To make a living !
No customers, no money !
to product more money
The only foundation someone opens a business is to produce money and you can't do that without customers.
Thanks for the 2 points. This put somebody through the mill is so silly that it doesn't deserve a real answer.
to survive as a business. if with the sole purpose a single source existed for items, (there are some who act that instrument anyway), the costs would be higher than they should be.
I would be interested to find out what you have a sneaking suspicion that about why they do.

In a limited partnership, nearby is a general partner have all the liability, judgment making authority and responsibility. What happen to my stocks in a minute that my company have gone Private?

Question:
We are going private and they have agreed to payment $35 a share in dosh. What does that mean? How will this effect my adjectives investing? Does the company still match my contributions? Ay give support to, would be greatly appreciated.

Answer:
A company goes private by making an proposition to its current public shareholders -- which basically process the company shares are held by a bunch of shareholders and the company wants to be held by a smaller number.

There could be several reasons they want a smaller number of shareholders. They may want to simply be owned by the administration team and a few institutional investors, for example. However, one of the prime goals is to return with below the threshold number of shareholders that requires them to file public reports beside the SEC. That is an extensive undertaking...plus, everything is open to the public.

So surrounded by this offer to current shareholders, they are offering $35. You don't own to sell. You can go if you think that's a right price. If you don't sell, you will verbs to hold the shares you currently own, but there will be a downside: once the company go private, and there are a smaller amount shareholders, there also will not be a open market for you to trade your shares on. For instance, it won't be traded on Nasdaq, NYSE or AMEX (wherever it is currently traded).

In other words you will hold the same stock as past, and it is theoretically worth like peas in a pod amount from the standpoint of the value of your relative share of the company's importance, but you've lost liquidity, because there's no one out near to buy your shares if you want to sell them. And even if you found someone to buy them, that character would pay you somewhat less for them because when that creature becomes the owner, he/she will own trouble selling them without a marketplace.
If you own shares, they will buy them for $35/sh. It sounds like you are an member of staff. I expect that your 401k will remain unchanged, except that company stock will no longer be offered on the plan.
You inevitability to ask your personnel or financial people roughly that. Generally if they are going private they will pay you for the shares and you won't own them anymore. Is $35 a honest price? If so, take it and invest within something else.

Has anyone else notice the need of friendly customer service in this day and age?

Question:
Lately when I go to Wal-Mart (especially), or in haste food places all I win is rude associates! What happened to the smiling face and "hi how are you today" and "have a nice day" All they do is let somebody know me my total--No eye contact, no nothing! I worked within retail for 5yrs and friendly customer service was a must. No event what was going on within my personal life--I didn't take it out on customers. I know how holidays are and adjectives so I don't see why management let them get away next to it or why they hire these people int the first place! My request for information: Am I the only one annoyed by this?

Answer:
once i threw metamorphose at a mean customer when i worked at a grocery store, sometimes customers are purely as rude HAHAHA
These days? Try ' these decades. '
Oh yeah! It seems approaching companies don't appreciate the business they get anymore...
Sweetheart, it is not a moment ago costumer service it is everyone these days!

I am so glad I get my shoping done early. I enjoy heard horror stories of society fighting within check out lines and drivers causing to hand fatal accident just to be ahead of someone else.

And, you enjoy to realize that a lot of the culture you have working surrounded by cashier positions in our day were not raise properly and have no respect for others because thye be not taught to respect others.
I see your point, but here within this small Tennessee town I live in everyone is friendly, proverb have a nice morning, Merry Christmas. It's very refreshing. I suppose at this time of year, society get tired and some of the customers are not the nicest inhabitants I've seen. I a moment ago say thank you and run on about my business. Two society being rude won't net a difference.
Merry Christmas!
Yes I have notice. I am just as annoyed!
Nope, your not alone. It's really annoying. I work for a living and although it's not retail, I still am nice and polite and enunciate thank you. I don't get why citizens act close to this. I really don't tend to go put a bet on to places where I have rude people waiting on me. And more than once I've gone to the service desk to detail the management almost the way and member of staff acted. In most of those cases though, I got a officer who didn't really care any. It's a strange world!
I've noticed it so much that I am in actuality shocked when I receive it.
Yes, by all channel. But remember the old adage, you take what you pay for. The clerks are the lowest salaried people around.
I complain, contained by writing to Wal_Mart, Target and HEB. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it does not.
Service is desperate. Not to make excuses, but remember that these culture deal directly near the customer everyday and whenever you deal directly beside people you shut in a lot of crap from them as resourcefully. It is just a vicious circle.
no passageway! i get it ALL the time. i other try to be nice and friendly. but when i get relations that act close to that to me, AGH, bugs the crap out of me! i worked in briskly food too, for 2 years. and i NEVER treated people approaching that, even when they were asses. conceivably managers only dont care presently adays, as long as they can hire for cheap...it doesnt matter. some society just werent raise with manners or adjectives decency i guess. its still aggravating, theres NO excuse for populace to act approaching that.
I work at Kroger part-time and purely being here ruins my holiday spirit. People are so crabby and ill and it make me so irritated. I think that dealing next to that has made populace a little more short and decrease the quality of their customer service. I try my best to be polite to everyone and distribute everyone the benefit of the doubt to be nice and polite but you get those scrooges who newly wear you down and put you in a unpromising mood. It is required where i work to be nice and courteous but I suppose in a place approaching Walmart it is nearly impossible to find that, even if its not the holiday season. My suggestion would be to find a better place to shop where populace will treat you the way you are suppose to be treated.
Yes, me too.
For my country most retailer are from other country (due to low pay), they are not train to be a Prof. Still the hoary timer the best.
for me it's not a big deal. i in recent times want to get my shopping document done and that's all. i don't really meticulousness if they are not nice. by the way their are also REALLY rude custumers. whoever is reading this, you might be one. be beaming.
I'm 21, and I must say that I own had more expierience beside rude customer service personel than polite individuals. To me it is more of a surprise to see someone who actually care about their assignment enough to smile and utter thank you. So every now and later before I evacuate somewhere, (primarily convienience stores) where near has be negative interaction, i share the cashier to enjoy a good hours of daylight and thank you for allowing me to shop here. Thr funny thing is---- they usually don't get hold of it.
I agree! It is something that you might consider contacting a manager just about. You don't have to rat the soul out specifically if you choose not to, but you can call the superior and say that you're a long-term customer and that you own noticed this trend stirring lately and wanted to bring it to his/her attention. If you are polite and appear concerned for the betterment of customer treatment as a full, chances are the administrator may bring it up at the next staff assignation. That's the ideal scenario, logically. Sometimes I am saddened to find that the most miserable and unapproachable sales associates have the title "Manager" on their pet name badge. :-( It's not okay, and points to the bigger problem of the dehumanizing qualities of our corporate-focused society.
Hey,
I totally understand where on earth youre coming from. However, I work in retail and accordingly I can understand where on earth some associates are coming from. It is very irritating mortal callled a liar even though I know for sure we do not enjoy something, and being yell at simply because the price is too high or some other customer put the product surrounded by the wrong spot, or even because we are out of it. I do not and am not allowed to writ things and/or change prices, and these things are my defect how? And how about when I am one soul and I have 3 other customers yell at me for my help?.. It can take very stressful and irritating and sometimes its not easy to keep your cool. And not to mention, government these days and companies (all) are adjectives hours and cutting associates. Therefore, they want us to do more customer service and more work surrounded by less time next to less ethnic group. I try very tricky to be friendly to eveyone I meet, but newly because I am on the other side of the counter, does not mean I should also obtain treated poorly. I wish you a merry christmas and I hope your shopping days move about a heck of a lot better
People who work at walmart and contained by other customer service positions usually start off as massively cheerful people who step out of their way to facilitate. That's the reason why they are hired. The problem is that they business with full-size volumes of people throughout their workday, and recurrently at times for very little pay packet. The general public expects customer service workers to jump above and beyond to make them consistency special or well taken comfort of, and demand for them to be treated contained by high high regard for their business. In return the average customer either disregards the customer service worker, or treats them rudely.

High volumes of rude customers, low pay envelope, and few breaks during the workday don't leave workers thrilled. Customer service workers get compensated the same and don't lose any business when a customer walk away upset. They don't get salaried extra to make someone grain special or that their business is appreciated, and they definately don't feel approaching going out of their way when the broad public is being extremely rude, confrontational, and habitually times neurotic. What I have observed is that, Americans vent adjectives of their frustrations on customer service workers without realize it. I am at times very shocked by customers behavior, and I don't even work contained by customer service. American's need to be more tolerant and cheer up. What's the big deal next to waiting in a strip?

Perhaps customers should try to cheer up customer service workers. They are the ones Americans are venting their frustrations on. They should evolution their job titles to, "Having to put up next to Crap from High Volumes of Overworked Disgruntled Americans and Expected to do so with a Cheerful Outlook and a Smile Service Associate."
Well I can apprehend where you are going, and yes it used to be alot different. I moved from a Mid-West State into California ending year, and the people here are the rudest I hold ever seen. Mabe its the Ocean Air (Not for sure).
You are so correct!

I worked retail contained by high conservatory and college. Like you said, pleasantness was a MUST.

Not anymore! Not within stores, not on the phone, not even email where you don't enjoy to fake a smile.
If your biggest verbs is employees not kissing your toes, afterwards you are lucky.

Are the bank in somebody`s debt to bestow you six years of guard statements if a customer requests it?

Question:

Answer:
Yes, but they can make you repay per statement for it, which often add up!
One way around it is to write to the bank's facts controller asking for info on your past charges beneath the data protection conduct yourself. Banks are entitled to charge you up to lb10 for the information, however they cannot charge you any more than this, and it normally works out cheaper than their 'statement' charges!

There is more info here:
http://www.moneytowers.com/2006/banking-...
Yes they are but within is a one off lb10.00 charge
Yes but at a cost...though it's not prohibitive the amount that the bank charge.
Yep. Or you can just ask them for a index of your bank charges for the concluding six years. It's much easier to do it that way. Costs lb10.
I'm next to first direct, I just wrote to them and asked for the concluding 6 years of bank charges (to reclaim) and they sent me the final 6 years bank statements for no charge!
youd hold to pay for it!
Yes. My friend be being mucked more or less by hers with excessive charges, so get them much to the bank's annoyance.

Sears Service (SUCKS!) Buyers Beware!?

Question:
Has anyone ever been jovial with Sears' service on ample appliances?

In my opinion, their service SUCKS, and their customer service representatives are categorically useless. I won't ever purchase another appliance from Sears and would recommend to anyone considering making a major appliance purchase to choose a business save for Sears. Sure, they're quick ample to take your money when you're purchasing something but when you enjoy problems with the item, they don't want to be bothered. An entire week have gone by and I'm STILL waiting to have my refrigerator repaired! Their service sucks, Sucks, SUCKS!

BUYERS BEWARE!

Answer:
I hold found that their products are ok to purchase, but I NEVER let them work on them if they conduct yourself up. They will charge you an exorbitant amount for nothing. I have a Sear's repairman come to work on our refrigerator. I had told them when I call that we needed a new door gasket. He come without a door gasket. He looked at the fridge and said he would enjoy to come back the subsequent day next to the gasket. They charged me $70 each for both house call. I had them replace a furnace blower motor. It cost $214 plus labor. he subsequent time it needed replacing, I called a local heat and air man. The same motor cost $23 plus $18 labor. Their service department is a total ripoff.
I put a deposit down for tires and i wait 2 months for them to come in, consequently i finally went to somewhere else and get them that day. I go back to Sears for my deposit and the guy refuse to give it hindmost to me, and wouldnt give a rationale, Sears is a horrible store and I will never go posterior there again.
Sears outsources almost adjectives of their "service" agreements. You're getting the bum down the street who is willing to work for smaller number (he deserves it) but you pay Sears full price for the lousy work.
I've have the same problem when I bought my blender. Oh resourcefully, I found a website thats giving away a Sears gift Card.

Does G00GLE a.d.sense really work?

Question:
I have open an account beside G00GLE a.d.sense.My visitors click Ads on my website www.freewebs.com/malaverma. Even after so oodles clicks ,which is evident from the counter I own provided ,no earning is shown surrounded by my G00GLE a.d.sense account. Is nearby anyone who can have reply for this?

Answer:
Having a hit counter -- which is what the counter on your site is -- does NOT indicate that a user in actual fact clicked on your a.d.s.e.n.s.e ad. What your counter tell you simply is how many populace came to pop in your site.

With a.d.s.e.n.s.e, you will not get rewarded just because a guest comes to your site. The visitor must CLICK on your ad to earn anything from the program. Since no earnings are showing, next it means the few citizens that go to your site do not click on the ad.

Here are my suggestions on what you can do:

- Fix your a.d.s.e.n.s.e code at the bottom of the page - I saw the javascript code, and not the ad. You may enjoy missed a tag or something

- Write more content to your site. The more content you hold, the more people would want to check out your site

- Increase your traffic. Without traffic, you won't own as many folks likely to click on the ad

a.d.s.e.n.s.e WORKS. I've been beside the program since June 2003 and it is one of the best, if not the best out nearby in vocabulary of monetizing a website. But you need to cram more about the program so you can dismiss your assumption that you'll receive paid simply because you hold visitors on your site.

Visit the a.d.s.e.n.s.e Help Center and swot up more about the program https://www.G00GLE.com/a.d.s.e.n.s.e/support/...
You really obligation to invest $1.99 USD to buy a domain name if you want to brand name money.
That's will be more better if you can use a.d.s.e.n.s.e decorded.
Send a query to G00GLE Ad sense administrator.

What You Think give or take a few Microsoft Chairperson Bill Gates?

Question:
Before putting the ans:
# He is become the biggest charitable giver surrounded by history, more then $32 Billion.
# Bill Gates receive an honorary knighthood from the UK.
# Plays a prominent role in Launching information age.

Answer:
he is the greatest human anyone on this planet...
He's a fine example of what a human could accomplish, and what to do with themselves when they've done it. He become the richest person on the planet, and is in a minute trying to figure out how to make available it away.

GO BILL!
Bill Gates is the posterchild for America. He has proven that it is possible to be successful next to an idea and the motivation to put it into doings. If he can start a business in his vault and bring it to where it is today, at hand is hope for anyone with a phantasm.
well, i've other had a short time bit of disdain for bill gates. he didn't exactly come up next to the idea that brought give or take a few windows. he's other used monopolization tactics and afterwards denied them, and any big business person that puts out smaller, competing businesses, which if you don't expect he's done, you're just innocent, is doing something to hurt the economy. the more ethnic group that work for themselves, the more our economy will thrive.

HOWEVER, the bill and melinda gate foundation is the largest charitable organization surrounded by the world. actually, i believe that warren buffet is the biggest benefactor because he's guaranteed that 95 percent of his fortune will go to charity, but that's beside the point.. (warren's money is going to the bill and melinda gate foundation by the way)... the money that will go to charity will know how to do a lot of virtuous if it is put to the right use. i think that they've get a lot of love for creating this and merely time will tell how much polite will have be done for it.

there are various people who would do nil after accumulating this much money, so i do approaching him and think he deserves appreciation as being a great philanthropist.
He could possibly be name as one the most astute businessmen of today. He has achieve what many would argue as individual the perfect go together of business and 'philanthropy'. Many will scowl at his philanthropy, truism it is enlightened self-interest. However, you can't deny that he have done a significant amount of good for those surrounded by need, as ably as make himself a tidy fortune! Good business?!
I sent him an e correspondence, but he never sent me any money.
