About Airborne Express (back to 1999)?
Question:
Hi, I am doing an assignment about logistics.
The time wager on to 1999, the questions are:
1) Why doesn't Airborne hold retail sites?
2) Why doesn't Airborne use contractors for pickup and delivery?
(if it is lower cost, why wouldn't fedex and ups do so?)
Much Thanks!
Answer:
Hi! Actually, you might be surprised to cram they DO have retail sites!
A lot of society in the USA who be surprised to know that DHL (a German company) dominates the small bag shipping market internationally. They are stronger than FedEx and WAY stronger than UPS overseas.
In 2003, DHL purchased Airborne Express to bolster its presence within the United States.
Anyway, with regard to the retail sites
Prior to the DHL acquisition, Airborne Express be the weakest of the small package carrier and focused heavily on just illustrious volume business customers. After the acquisition, DHL made an alliance next to two industry groups that represent the retail packaging and shipping center industry: American Mail and Parcel Centers (AMPC), and the National Association of Retail Shipping Centers (NARSC).
DHL settled that rather than investing surrounded by creating its own chain of retail centers (FedEx have Kinkos and UPS has UPS Stores), it would simply align itself beside these independent associations. Member stores get special rates for offering DHL/Airborne shipping and can become DHL Authorized Shipping Centers (DASC). You can find these locations through DHL's net site.
Believe it or not, because DHL decided to work near these existing independent shipping stores, there are immediately far more DHL shipping locations than either FedEx or even UPS. There have even been some attempts by UPS and FedEx to copy DHL's plan, much to the angst of Kinko's and UPS Store owners.
Long winded answer... but I hope it be helpful. God Bless!
1) In 99 they be fully business oriented, so in that was no necessitate for retail sites.
2) Airborne doesn't use contracotrs to control the quality.
Can one be sued for engagements they trade name on the behalf of the company they work for?
Question:
Can I myself be sued by an unhappy customer, seperate from my company even though I followed adjectives company procedures.
Answer:
It depends.
If you work for a corporation, and you have no vested interest surrounded by the company, you are shielded from personal lawsuits stemming from your actions on behalf of the company (when you are conducting your undertaking and/or the regular operations of the business).
If you work for a partnership where on earth you have put up personal property as constituent of the business' assets, then you do hold some personal liability.
If the lawsuit is against actions by you that be not in polite faith of the business, such as if you snuff out someone through your own negligence, you can be held personally liable.
You might check your state's laws/statutes on the subject of personal liability within the corporate structure.
on what grounds of the complainant will he/she complain just about. I think your company do not offer you orders to disrespect any costumer? I deem that customer or the complainant is just a dick leader.
It wouldn't make sense, Stephen. Any attorney worth his saline is going to know that you go after the pocketbook. Suing is not an exciting thing for an attorney- perchance for his client- but the attorney is only thinking of the money- and your company have more than you.
Also- you're not getting sued. People threaten that all the time, because they see it on TV.
You can be sued for ANYTHING now. But, someone just one an "unhappy customer" is going to lose that luggage hard.
No, first the company's insurance lawyer will make sure it never happen. I know sometimes thinking you might be sued can be unnerving. But it's doubtful they could sue you personally and the genuineness is if someone sues and loses they have to compensate your lawyers' fees. Sounds like a disgruntled customer or individual. If they be foolish enough to sue the company would hold on to the trial going for so long they would bankrupt the individual and the afternoon the individual can't show up in court the court give a summary judgement to the defendant. Since you are an agent of the company they can't sue you personally.
Only if you did something close to pour coffee on his computer or something else, non relevant to the work assignment.
Note: advise your boss stat of the dissatisfied customer and ask how things go south when you followed procedure.

But the graphs they show you, other shows an improvement within safety operation.
