The problem I have near WalMart though is that they carry simply the very cheapest example of so heaps things, so a lot of the stuff is valid junk, stuff I won't buy. I'll pick up some broadsheet towels there, perchance a 6-pack of cheap socks, tape, lightbulbs, etc, but I won't buy home furnishings near or any appliances, it's all unwanted items.

No! I enjoy plenty of grocery stores and department stores to choose from. Walmart suckks and don't really like to shop here. Their customer service suckks and it takes me a long time to get hold of out. There is also the mall where on earth I go, and if you look unyielding, you can find some good deal.
First, the word is feel. Next, not a soul forces you, but your instincts are correct. Walmart has a strategy for coming into a community, undercutting the local merchants and when they are gone, they bump up their prices back to walmart regular. Which is still fairly cheap. The channel to stop them? Attend city council meetings when they are doing the plans reviews for walmart. Dont shop in attendance. Shop only local stores.
