Correct wording for Capitalism, Where do you draw the splash?
Question:
In this ever changing United States of ours, really what does the residence capitalist mean?
I grew up thinking that Capitalism collectively refers to an economic system within which the means of production, services and commodities are mostly privately owned, those who ventured out near the brains and the hard work could start a successful business, BUT where on earth does it end, we typically worked within the confines of our country, When we start to switch from the internal competitive flea market to moving our plants over seas surrounded by a world market, beside our higher standards of living and cost of living , within is no way we can compete, where on earth do you draw the line, when does it become, screw my fellow American workers, Or I can product more MUCH MORE money paying the Chinese or India’s a dollar a day. Instead of making 5 Million a year, I want 50 million a year and screw my neighbor. Is in attendance a term for extreme capitalism, gimme gimme gimme, screw everybody else?
Answer:
Why don't you ask Bush and Cheney? They give the impression of being to know all just about it.
it's about the money, screw the culture

Do You Boycott Wal*Mart?
Question:
First off, I am guilty... Of bit@hing in the order of Wal*Mart (employee treatment, buying from China, etc.), but I still shop there. They are cheap. Sometimes surrounded by price and/or also in products. Does anyone in actuality go out of their track to never shop at Wally World?
Answer:
I don't, they're union busters surrounded by the worst way and their other human resource practices are borderline criminal. There are other super-marts that aren't as unpromising as they are.
i hate walmart, i never walk there. Although the white cloud diapers they own are the best i've found! oh yeah and the baby formula be cheap...but that was 2 years ago, so i won't step there again :) lol
I don't.
The hype against WalMart is something like 99% politically motivated by unions because they won't unionize their body. Most of the stuff you hear about WalMart is any pure crap or is being done by other companies.
Such as buying from China. Do you know how various companies buy from China? Will you also boycot K-Mart? Sears? Ikea? Target?
What about member of staff treatment? Did you know that WalMart offers among the best hand benefits among their competitors?
I stop in the local walmart conceivably 1-2x's a month. I go if I obligation something specificshampoo's, hair dye, snacks, and small household appliance that will be cheapest in that. If I boy cot every store that has an issue...I would be locked contained by the house forever...like...don't drink coke a cola..dont shop at walmart...don't use dell they out-source etc etcevery company contained by the U.S is out to make the big bucks...its sector of life here...so what are we really expected to do?
Mahal must be a checker.
MOST definitely. The hype against them is political and I'd to some extent have more money surrounded by my pocket than spend more else where.
An example of the adage "if you can't pound them, slander them".
My daughter does not shop Wal*Mart. She read a book criticizing the store and refuses to shop in that. She also claims she makes adequate money, therefore she doesn't enjoy to shop there. She like Target.
I have this same problem near Home Depot. I don't know what your availability to other stores are, but our other choices aren't any better. What I do is place complaints on their hot-line. This produces negative reports locally. Store managers do not resembling their high ups reception complaints. Their butt will receive teeth marks. If you are going to do this, form sure to give as much information as possible. Employee name, day, date, time, and what the problem is.
As far as buying from China, the problem is what America is doing. The cost of labor is forcing us to desire cheaper solutions. I was told (I haven't verified this) airline stewardess start at 25 bucks an hour. Auto factory workers, not including supervisors, average $35 an hour. What make these people so special? I enjoy my opinions, but I will preserve them to myself. But, is not a stewardess nothing more than a waitress? Factories are automated, so why are workers paid so much for unproblematic work? As long as we have this problem, companies will force out for cheaper solutions.
Have you noticed the with the sole purpose quality cars are made somewhere else. BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, and adjectives of the expensive sports cars.
We are lucky here. We have a accurate Wal Mart. I enjoy the screening and prices. I don't buy my electronics there. I shop Best Buy for computers, camaras, TV's because they enjoy very knowledgable nation.
Their starting pay is $11/hr and you're complaining roughly their employee treatment? Geez. Also, short wal-mart, prices at every other retailer would be higher.
Don't buy into the league propaganda crap. Just look at what the unions did to the automotive and airline industriesthey are a cancer on our discount.
If people are going to boycott wal-mart after you must boycott all retail. They adjectives buy from over seas, they adjectives take lead of the employees and they adjectives are out to make a huge profit.
I worked retail for 8 years, I worked tremendously hard to be in motion up the corp. ladder merely to have the favorites be pick for advance. I watched headship take positive aspect of the hourly workers so that they could get at hand big bonuses. This was a big box home restoration retail that was & is within trouble for not paying the correct overtime to employees within many states.
Look at where on earth the product are made on all the products we own.. MADE IN SOME WHERE OTHER THAN THE USA !
It is a shame the Big Box Corp. sold out to forigin soil so that they could be rich.
I will shop to squirrel away, I work hard for my money. All retail are guilty of takeing positive aspect of us.
No I love the low prices and though you must pay attention to the level of some of its products, you can usually get a biddable price.
I am a SALE shopper so if its cheaper somewhere else...I'm there!
Its not lately Walmart that falls into your category, it is all over... Walmart simply have gotten huge and the media make it out to be the bad guy due to everyone else human being jealous.

same line of business, but more unanimously, affected by like peas in a pod
economic forces that affect the firm individual valued.
o A Simple Test: To see if the group of comparable firms is truly
comparable, estimate a correlation between the revenues or operating
income of the comparable firms and the firm being valued. If it is big

Estimating comparable firm betas
n Estimate the average beta for the publicly traded comparable firms.
n Estimate the average marketplace value debt-equity ratio of these
comparable firms, and figure the unlevered beta for the business.
bunlevered = blevered / (1 + (1 - tax rate) (Debt/Equity))
n Estimate a debt-equity ratio for the private firm, using one of two
assumptions:
o Assume that the private firm will move to the industry average debt ratio.
The beta for the private firm will converge on the industry average beta.
b private firm = bunlevered (1 + (1 - charge rate) (Industry Average Debt/Equity)
n Estimate the optimal debt ratio for the private firm, based upon its
operating income and cost of income.
b private firm = bunlevered (1 + (1 - tax rate) (Optimal Debt/Equity)
n Step 5: Estimate a cost of equity base upon this beta.
Aswath Damodaran 184
Accounting Betas
n Step 1: Collect accounting earnings for the private company for as
long as nearby is a history.
n Step 2: Collect accounting earnings for the S&P 500 for duplicate time
period.
n Step 3: Regress change in yield for the private company against
changes within the S&P 500.
n Step 4: The slope of the regression is the accounting beta
n There are two serious limitations -
(a) The number of observations in the regression is small
(b) Accountants smooth proceeds.

Estimating a Beta for the NY Yankees
n You have three choices for comparable firms:
o Firms that derive a significant portion of their revenues from baseball
(Traded baseball team, baseball cards & memorabalia…)
o Firms that derive a significant portion of their revenues from sports
o Firms that derive a significant portion of their revenues from
entertainment.
Comparable firms Levered Beta Unlevered Beta
Baseball firms (2) 0.70 0.64
Sports firms (22) 0.98 0.90
Entertainment firms (91) 0.87 0.79 Management target
n Levered Beta for Yankees = 0.90 ( 1 + (1-.4) (.25)) = 1.04
n Cost of Equity = 6.00% + 1.04 (4%) = 10.16%
Aswath Damodaran 186
Estimating a beta for InfoSoft: A private
software firm
n Comparable firms include all software firms, beside market
capitalization of smaller amount than $ 500 million.
n The average beta for these firms is 1.29 and the average debt to equity
ratio for these firms is 7.09%. With a 35% tax rate, this yield an
unlevered beta of
Unlevered Beta = 1.29/ (1 + (1-.35) (.0709)) = 1.24
n We will assume that InfoSoft will have a debt to equity ratio
comparable to the average for the comparable firms and a similar excise
rate, which results in a lever beta of 1.29.
n Cost of Equity = 6.00% + 1.29 (4%) = 11.16%
Aswath Damodaran 187
Is beta a good determine of risk for a private
firm?
n The beta of a firm measures only open market risk, and is based upon the
assumption that the investor surrounded by the business is well diversified. Given
that private firm owners repeatedly have adjectives or the bulk of their wealth
invested surrounded by the private business, would you expect their perceived
costs of equity to be higher or lower than the costs of equity from
using betas?
o Higher
o Lower
Aswath Damodaran 188
Total Risk versus Market Risk
n Adjust the beta to parallel total risk rather than flea market risk. This
adjustment is a relatively simple one, since the correlation with the
souk measures the proportion of the risk that is souk risk.
Total Beta = Market Beta / Correlation with open market
n In the New York Yankees example, where the marketplace beta is 0.85 and
the R-squared for comparable firms is 25% (correlation is therefore
0.5),
o Total Unlevered Beta = 0.90/0. 5= 1.80
o Total Levered Beta = 1.80 (1 + (1-0.4)(0.25)) =2.07
o Total Cost of Equity = 6% + 2.07 (4%)= 14.28%
Aswath Damodaran 189
When would you use this total risk manoeuvre?
n Under which of the following scenarios are you most imagined to use the
total risk measure:
o when value a private firm for an initial public offering
o when valuing a private firm for mart to a publicly traded firm
o when valuing a private firm for public sale to another private investor
n Assume that you own a private business. What does this tell you give or take a few
the best potential buyer for your business?
Aswath Damodaran 190
Estimating the Cost of Debt for a Private Firm
n Basic Problem: Private firms generally do not access public debt
market, and are therefore not rate.
n Most debt on the books is guard debt, and the interest expense on this
debt might not reflect the rate at which they can borrow (especially if
the dune debt is old.)

What's wrong beside America & Walmart?
Question:
First of all I'm not pro Walmart by any finances since they tell their suppliers to move their operation overseas to get cheaper prices etc... My Question come to me when a local Walmart closed Temp. for undisclosed reason. I focus it's for fire safety. Now the report is making a Big deal that society can't shop, and employees can't walk to work. Like it's a big disaster.
My Question is: Isn't this what America wants? To Close Walmarts around America and the World
We get a Closed Walmart. Now everyone is complaining there's no cheap places to shop for multiple items, and there is no work for hundreds of folks. and remember this is only 1 Walmart. what if this be National.
Answer:
Well, it seems to me that you inadvertantly answered your own interview... We always want doesn`t matter what it is we don't have. We want Wal-Mart closed, but once we don't enjoy it, it's like "We didn't know what we have until it was gone..." In the summer, we fashion our houses freezing cold with an nouns conditioner, but then contained by fall when it starts cooling itself, we crank the warmth until we can't walk from one room to another in need sweating... Married people need they were single, single populace wish they be married. If your hair is curly, you dream of straight, but straight haired folks stock up on curling irons... We are newly whiners and complainers... Nothing is really ever what we want because we don't really KNOW what we want...
I am not sure
I like wal-mart... sure it destroys millions of small shop owners lives, but hey I can let go three cents a gallon with a shopping card...
truly i prefer dollar general... the stuff is only just as crappy and costs less
If this be national than people would complain profoundly and then move the hell on. Life continues until you die, and we adjectives eventually learn to business with anything happens, whether we approaching it or not.
no idea!
U HEARD A SON
G CALL STOP HATEING
WALMART COOL
I wouldn't want it to close down as it benefits the consumers.
People show their opinion with their purchases and if not a soul really liked walmart and not a soul went to their stores after they would go out of business. If the "mom & pop" stores really sold a better product at a better price or give that much better service then those would just stir there instead of walmart. The financial truth is that in a free souk economy the competition will spur innovation and bring down prices. Lower prices would allow everyone who shops at walmart vs the other stores, to set free more disposable income.
The talking team leader libtards out there who don't certainly understand economics don't realize this and open down support a communist/socialist state. Unfortunately since the media is immensely liberal you hear more about empire who hate walmart than race who like walmart.
i approaching walmart.
if any huge establishment like walmart closes for a moment ago one day the the entire discount suffers. stocks lose money, individuals lose money, spendings decrease, etc.
at this time of year the loss is even bigger because this christmas season is the time population shop the most.
they are both suckers of satans ***k
I am in college and I chose Wal mart for a project, and surrounded by doing my research, there seem to be a nationwide consensus that
although from the consumer point of picture Wal-mart offers
a wide open variety of products at low prices, their associates are underpaid and they use factory (overseas) that really treat the
worker like dirt. They put small business out of business. The
Internet is full of wal mart stories.

"to find 1000 relatives who are willing to remuneration them for showing them how to become a millionaire!"

What makes it different to that of other investment bank? I read all over their website that it is different, but it is not clear to me how and why this is the armour.
Answer:
Most investment banks procure most of their revenue from equities and M&A. Barclays Capital gets most of its revenue from bonds and company debt. I believe they don't even enjoy an equities team.
They would bring up to date you there are differences contained by their hiring policies too. Bob Diamond (the CEO) claims they don't offer guaranteed bonuses and Managing Director titles to attract staff. Most investment bank offer titles and guaranteed bonuses to attract the staff they want and it is one of the reason they don't make any profits.

Can I properly christen my company something next to the word "corporation" within it surrounded by PA in need file as a corp?
Question:
Answer:
I doubt that. You can't in most states so I don't cogitate PA will allow it. While using "corporation" creates the image your company is generous and dependable it also opens up issues of increased liability for misdeeds that corporations are subject to and for harsher import tax treatment.
what do u tight-fisted by co-branded credit cards?
Question:
I was readinng an article contained by THE ECONOMIC TIMES of 06-12-06.
On page 15, there be an article "Co-branding adds advantage to cards". I want to know what is it all nearly?
Answer:
If a bank associates beside any other company to offer a credit card, it can be term as co branded credit card.So if a customer with a co branded card buys the product of the associated acompany, here will be obviously some benefits.
For instance some bank offer co branded cards beside petroleum companies as associates, then if the customer fill petrol from the associated company's pump, he will not be charged the surcharge usually levied.
For example ,ICICI have HP Silver Card, where you grasp bonus when u use it in HP petrol bunks. Same style there are other co-brand cards near BP,some airways, etc.
Does the Code of Silence apply to the conglomerate world or is it exclusive to Law Enforcement?
Question:
Are there any approaches to stop this tomfoolery? Innocent culture sometimes get punished while the devious stay free. Without decriminalized evidence all statements can be considered a Defamation of Character, Libelous, Malicious, Slander, and too heaps legal definition to write. Mr. Thomas M Coughlin had be at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc so he would know a lot of their ways and all the same he was the “Fall Guy” for Samuel Robson Walton. Unfortunately Mr. Coughlin’s heart is watery otherwise he could have won against Wal-Mart. He know the real Wal-Mart, but the Code of Silence won and the truth may be lost forever. I wonder if Mr. Thomas M Coughlin care about Bad Axe Michigan. The Code of Silence is akin to the Code of Injustice and desires to be eliminated. Americans no longer own many protections contained by the work place. If members of the Board of Directors can slickly be replaced just dream of how much easier is to replace low level member of staff and not win a wrongful termination lawsuit against conglomerates!!
Answer:
The Code of Silence is understood by most population to apply to Law Enforcement. Camaraderie and peer pressure prevents Peace Officers from telling the truth of potential mortifying or criminal acts. They apply to others but it may not be call a Code of Silence. Tom Coughlin does know a lot of dirt at Wal-Mart but contained by his agreement decided to save it secret for the rest of his existence. Mr Coughlin's evidence of Wal-Mart having a stash of money or slush fund for anti-union use depended on folks at Homeoffice but balked because of their Legal Division's reputation of winning other. If the Code of Silence does apply to the business world then it successfully silenced Thomas M Coughlin.
GREED OVER INTEGRITY--THE AMERICA WAY.
ok, im not analysis your question, i take to mean your rant, but not the question... what code of silence? do you plan how the bosses wont rat each other out? powerfully, duh...if a company can get away lacking having to compensate what they deem to be a frivilous lawsuit against the little guy, of course they will but surrounded by any court, proof is your golden word... ( since word of man or a mans greeting no longer means anything) if im guessing right, the guy you consult about be hurt at walmart? if im right,, have him goto labor board, or he if wasnt emplyee, hold him contact OSHA
Why don't British Gas EVER reply to complaints?
Question:
Answer:
*Hollow laugh.
You obligation to send it contained by triplicate - once through the complaints page on the website, once through the contact us on the website, and in both push for them you are sending a copy recorded transport. It will take 3 weeks to answer. If you complain over the phone they in recent times make nice noise and don't make record or even record the certainty you called. You hold been warn.
I did offer the definitive guide to this on ebay, but nobody be interested
Because they are a big company so they don't have to supervision. They'll make money anyway.
Perhaps RunEye.com complaints department is run by the same race.
Because either the British ge a intact lot of complaints or they're just stuck-up dumba**'s.
If any company replies to it's complaints, it costs money. In the suitcase of British Gas, I'm still waiting for a response myself. I don't expect to hear from them, however, if it's regarding a mix up over a final bill, simply hang on to your money. They'll soon be within touch.
Watchdog did a piece about them a few weeks put money on. They were name the worst company in UK for dealing next to complaints and replying to letters etc (I disagree, I believe the TV Licensing people are even worse, but Watchdog wouldn't do a entity about them, immediately would they). BG wheeled out their spin meister who said that they be trying to improve, getting more customer service general public etc., etc., but they always articulate this, don't they
Few companies do.
Not only do Brit Gas fall short to respond to complains, they have also inferior to reduce the retail price of gas knowing that the wholesale price have dropped by about 25% since more rapidly in 2006.
Perhaps if we adjectives flooded the Brit Gas website with e-mails complaining around their attitude to us their customers, they may eventually get the message. This merely after they have suffered a serious system crash resulting from adjectives of us e-mailing at once.
If someone will suggest a time for doing this, I will gladly hold part.
POWER TO THE PEOPLE.
This is the problem near big-business capitalism; they don't reply because they don't really care. What's it to them if you switch to someone else when they enjoy millions of customers, many of which are tied within to using their services (thanks to those "freeze your bills until 2009") offers.
British Gas and other corporations can claim to be "doing the right thing", but ultimately- and this is the undamaged principal of capitalism- they operate in instruct to grab the largest amount of money from you using the least possible possible effort.
Thats the system we live within. And I for one would like to see something done almost it! :)
