Question:
I though it was run by the US governing body, but even the site usps.com markets itself as a commercial and not .gov and what not... anyone?
Answer:
The USPS is a semi-independent company overseen by the US Congress. The most important difference between the USPS and the rest of the government agencies is funding. Since 1971 the USPS have taken no money from the US treasury for its funding. The same cannot be said for the Congress which has raid the funds of the USPS several times over the 35+ years since it was granted "nouns."
The USPS is "owned" by the Federal Government. However, it does run itself as a profit making endeavor. In order to lift up postal rates, it must get federal approval, but it creates its own budget through the mart of postal products.

Question:
How about impossible service?
Answer:
Good service? What is that? From McDonald's to Best Buy I receive nothing but doomed to failure manners and horrible service. The idea give or take a few customers being right is gone. Too various times I have see employees be rude or apathetic to shoppers. I usually jump to the places that treat me with respect, even if I own to pay somewhat more. Places like Walmart and Target never attain my business anymore. It seems close to these companies would realize that they have idiots working for them. Fifteen years ago we didn't own these problems but now I antipathy to shop. I'd rather do it on-line.
I see impossible service from larger stores like Dillons and Walmart. The best service is have in small stores where on earth they truly appreciate your business, but you will usually pay more for it!

Well, seeing how all customer service related question are being out sourced to a nation of camels,I would utter that the service is great. the only item I have to complain something like is the difficulty in acumen their broken English
