First Direct who are introducing charges very soon will no doubt lose a few customers but the majority will stay as apathy plays a big cut aswell as the fact that bank make it incredibly difficult for you to move accounts adjust direct debits etc etc. So look out for the majority of bank to follow suit and introduce charges too.
Thats how they make their money.
In the UK, most current accounts are free, but some bank are trying to claw back some money from culture who sued them for overcharging in times past.
If my bank starts charging for my current sketch, I'll shop around and go elsewhere. They'll soon draw from the message.
