I do not shop at Wal-Mart because I am a retailer that competes against them. They changed their Wal-Mart store to a supercenter in our town of 15000 roughly speaking a year ago and already about 20% of the independents are out of business. Our sale are down about 30% and we are within their parking lot. We knew it be coming and diversified in adequate time not to be injured to much by it, but if we hadnt changed our business strategy we would be out of business too.
I do stop at Starbuck's in response to their billboards from time to time. It does piss me stale that I cannot fight the urge because it is ridiculous to settle $8 for a cup of coffee and a brownie, but I cant help it. Sometime within the future I see a world beside quit starbucks patches, gum, and hypnosis similar to there are for quit smoking presently.
i'm a regular customer of starbucks; i've already tried the quality of their product and service...and i'm unworried, that's the reason i stick near them. buyers' willingness to purchase a product is not with the sole purpose base surrounded by price, but also with the level of service and the trademark. i've tried other coffee shops before but starbucks characteristic is just unmatchable.
various are affraid when wal-mart went offshore...host countries are afraid that various domestic-based businesses will shut down when they can no longer compete with the retail gian. specifically true, but that's only one side of the coin; remember, that because of these direct investments job are created for the locals, cheap and quality commodities for the consumers, tax salaried to the government, and local enterprise will be pressure to do better in their headship of business, etc...isn't that good?
