I feel I've be scammed on the web by Videx Courier Service, can anyone back?

Question:
I got a message almost a month back proverb I'd won 250,000pounds on the UK national lottery online international sweepstakes competition, looking all prescribed and everything. Then i had to speak to their courier to do it, Videx courier service, and they advise they needed 790pounds to deliver the cheque, it couldnt just be took out of my winnings as it be "under a hard-cover insurance policiy and couldnt be touched" apparantly. So, anyone dumb, I paid it & on the time it was to walk into my bank they emailed me cliché that the "uk anti money laundering department of the government" have stopped the transfer and I needed to speak to them. They give me a hotmail address for them too. Since then, they've not replied, nor own this money laundering place any. Is there anything that can be done? Just that it be 790pounds that I've lost, all for zilch. Anybody have any concept?

Answer:
There are many Nigerian scam that are showing up nowadays. Please read the following alertly:

I can guarantee you that if you listen to these punks you will lose every bit of money you have and never receive any prize money as such a prize does not exist.

Another unusual popular scam is the lottery scam:

There is no Overseas Lottery International, YAHOO & MSN Lotteries, Yahoo online dept., UK (United Kingdom) Lottery, Netherlands Lottery, British Lottery, Thunderball Online Lottery in the UK, Australian Lottery, Spanish Lottery, Yahoo Lottery Microsoft Lottery (emmulating from the UK or anywhere else) or any other form of lottery you can win minus buying a ticket. While some people might one and only copy and paste such email to their answer beside a brief take on it, I will dance into detail because I'm tired of this trash, as several of my friends have lost their a$$es to this scam. This is in the order of as far away from legitimate as anything can draw from, whether it be a contest, promotion, or whatever.

There exists a unquestionable form of immoral immoral that trolls the internet searching for suckers who believe that they hold gotten very lucky and won a lottery which they hold never entered. They will probably entice you to distribute an advance allowance to claim your non-existant winnings and if you do send this money, you can kiss it goodbye. The money will imagined be en-route to Nigeria, a cesspool of fraud that has be the center of these types of fraud over the last few decades.

The best piece to do is to delete such emails immediately and to never reply to them. If you even reply, you risk have your email inbox flooded. If you call these populace, expect to be harrassed over the phone at all hours of the hours of darkness! In some cases, people who travel to claim their winnings surrounded by Nigeria are taken hostage, and in worse-case scenario are killed when whoever is paying ransom payments exhausts their money supply. If anything online sounds to accurate to be true it always is buddy.

By the path, I have charitable of become an anti-scam activists due to the certainty that I have oodles friends who have have their identities and duration savings stolen from them via these methods.

This is simply mortgage fee fraud (a prevalent type of fraud which continously asks for money to cover unforseen expenses) and is intended to drain your ridge account, promising money that simply does not exist. Hopefully, this answers your interrogate.

If you have any more question, do a yahoo search on lottery scam, nigeria 419 scams, internet fraud, or finance fee fraud. You can also read more nearly this at www.secretservice.gov and www.419eater.com!

If you have lost money you should report it to the U.S. Secret Service at www.secretservice.gov

Now you know the bare bones of Advance Fee Fraud, a multi-million dollar industry that costs honest people their life span savings everyday. Be joyous you weren't duped by this scam!

I hope this is helpful, because I could sure use a best answer! I would appreciate it!
yeah rock on !
Ripped sour by another lottery scam. Call the local police with the info; in that may be identity theft issues as all right; and good luck.

Hotmail addy? Not within a million years would a reputable resource be using that.
Oh dear go to the police and see if they can abet you. Have you tried Googling Videx Courier Service? See what comes up xx
There's nothing you can do I'm afraid. I'm other 'winning the lottery' in lotteries I've never hear of and certainly haven't enter or other similar things. These emails are extremely common and should be delete. The best thing you can do is to report it to the police but I don't reflect they will be able to recuperate your loss.
How much does it take to take that if you buy a ticket for a lottery.you have a coincidence of winning?
I don't have an idea that this questioner has be duped, after all, would you show how dumb you be?
Report it to the police, although it is doubtful that they will do anything at all. I can't get how your cheque can go missing when it have to be transferred into someones account to be cashed. Surely you would ponder that the police would try tracing the criminals by this means. Sorry roughly your loss but pretty stupid really.
LOL...Typical case of scamming.
I doubt that you'll ever see that money again, but you should folder a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (ftc.gov).
You unambiguously should've known something be up when they used a Hotmail account for a 'government agency' or when they asked for contribution. A legitimate lottery does not entail money to deliver the check, ever.
International lotteries are illegal surrounded by most countries, so if you see one in your inbox, delete it.

Even though it be a hard lesson intellectual, don't beat yourself up roughly speaking it. While you're out some hard earn cash, you can acquire it back, as money is surrounded by abundant supply. Just be appreciative they didn't get anything else.
if it sounds too apposite to be true, it probably is

I heard on the communication the other day that millions of pounds have been ripped stale in these scam and I thought "do people enjoy no sense, you have won a lottery you didnt even enter and you dont come up with that's suss."

you have lately proved that obviously individuals do fall for such complete rubbish.

you can report it to the police, but they are unlikely to be capable of do anything. Most certainly not capture you any money back, so Im afraid the singular thing you can do is put it down to experiance and swot up a hard lesson. lb790 to revise not to give money to strangers is profusely cheaper than it could have be.
You learned a correct lesson, forget about it.

what is the difference between an index fund and an ETF (Exchange Traded Fund)?

Question:

Answer:
They aren't necessarily different things.

An index fund is a fund which has an underlying portfolio designed to track a popular index, resembling the Nasdaq 100 or S&P 500. If you invest in an index fund, you will own gains or losses which parallel the percentage movement in the underlying index.

An exchange traded fund is exactly what it's signature implies: it's shares are down and traded on a stock exchange. This is different from traditional mutual funds, which are sold by dealers. The advantages of exchange traded funds are:

- Low expense ratio, because the number of shares is fairly constant.
- In notion, they can be short sold and margined, just approaching stock.

What would you do contained by my position?

Question:
Ok, I've got a bit of a dilemma on!

I be recently dismissed from my brief. I woul obviously claim that it be bloody unfair. Two sides to every story though...

Anyway, primarily I worked in IT, and be responsible for the companies invoicing for the biggest contract the company had. (A highest high-street bank)

Bacially they were fiddling the information. (The total bill was roughly inflated by 30% respectively month. The directors and senior managment were aware of this) This would be extremly difficult for the wall to notice (and susequently prove) as we be using consolidated invoicing and were massively careful in the order of the backing notes and MI that could be sent to people in the bank. This totaled into the millions over the 2 years I worked in attendance.

What would you do and why?

Answer:
I'd argue that the issue you describe is too small to work your cosncience into a frenzy, so you ask because you're entertaining thoughts of revenge.

I have beyond question that such things are common within business. What is also common is the treatment of whistle-blowers which, despite recent high-profile cases, is zilch short of blacklisting.
You'd do yourself a tremendous disservice to use your knowledge to try to punish your former employer. You'd probably succeed contained by hurting only yourself.

I'd suggest you verbs, find a new assignment, and forget the bastards. Success, as they say, is the best revenge.
If you describe the customer they will probably not believe it and just humiliate you. It is probably wiser to just find another post and forget about it.

If you be dismissed unfairly, try taking it to court.
Which ridge is it? Ew!
Today we suffer from greed
Your principles are correct,
Unfortunately in this world.
They are not respected,
Have a righteous life,
I can see you making the nine O clock communication yet! You do not voice why you were agree to go but, these are highly serious allegations you are making. I would be 110% sure of my facts before I go any further. Get yourself a good solicitor and bring your proof near you to the meeting. You later need to prefer what you want from this. Is it a payoff to keep hushed? or the principle of the thing? ( I dont conjecture!) Whats in it for you? and most importantly will you ever work contained by this town again when the merde hits the fan?
This is not unusual, tons large company's do it beside the knowledge of the bank it's known as "fault ups". the money is shared between the senior exec's of the company and the bank
Ask youself--What is the down-side risk? In short, what do you hold to gain and what do you have to lose by your action--whatever it may be. Will you lose more than you will gain by a fastidious action or vice-versa? Then craft a decision.

Question:

By definition working wherewithal is current assets minus current liabilities. For respectively of these two automakers, and to include Ford Motor Company as well, respectively quarter for the past year have been a loss. This is indicative of a slowing within sales that will not run into or exhaust the current inventory. Accordingly, they have an excess of units built that hold yet to provide. To this ends, respectively of the big three show losses for their books based upon the decline contained by sales to those projected, but can hold and do have a strong working assets base.

I hope this help.

is walmart to powerful?

Question:

Answer:
This is just a cut and join of something I wrote for a related question I newly answered but I think it is relative and to a persuaded degree address your question.

Wallmart have built their huge empire on one basic strategy, call the price point.
Every day of every week respectively department in the store have one item that has a price i.e. so low it's hard to believe. That product is strategically place contained by a prominent place in that department.
After that psychology comes into play.
Here’s an example, small appliances, agree to say the average fully clad coffee maker have a price of $20
Wallmart will put a coffee maker at the call a halt of the isle in a special display for $10
Oh my god coffee maker are usually $20, this one is only $10 Wallmart's prices are so low, I wonder what the prices are on the other coffee maker they have?
Look here's one one that have way more features and looks approaching it's better quality and it's just $25, it must be a really good accord.
The truth, Target is probably selling it for $20 but Wallmart now have you convinced that their prices are the lowest so you buy the thing for $25.
They hold been doing this for years, making them one of the largest, wealthiest companies on the planet, its substantial to note that I purely used the word planet, not USA, they are one of the largest, wealthiest companies on the entire planet!
Therefore they have the public relations dollars to be able to verbs to convince people that they are the source for the lowest price.
They do own low prices on allot of stuff, but to always go and get the best value for your money, shop around, remember Wallmart have brilliant, highly learned, highly remunerated, creative people working for them who’s merely job is to amount out new creative ways to seize YOU in the door and depart the contents of your wallet behind.
If you reckon anything other that that you are a fool, and we know all what happen to a fool and his money...
That is how they got the brim, Target on the other hand is selling style aimed at mostly the younger crowd, but I also believe they seize older folks who enjoy good fondness, but the youngsters are considered to be the crowd to get acquire because they have more disposable income.

Happy Shopping!
yes because they enjoy put alot of mom and pop bussiness out of bussiness and now i hear teaming up with japan and china
yes, raison d`être there is lots of things within it and lots of stores, too.
I guess so. I mean they own everything in their store. They started out as only just a clothing store and now they are a supermarket. I know it's biddable for working parents and busy people to own a one stop shop but on the other hand I suggest they should of just stuck beside being a clothing store.
"...too powerful?". I would ask "are they too smart"? They caught their retail competitors asleep. Wal-Mart used modern technology and methods to boost their business, sale, profits, etc.
Fifteen years ago the question be "are the japanese 'too powerful'"?
They gave school-boy course to US auto (electronics) companies.
I think they are more or less the same contained by marketing & retail strength as Target.

what does other assets miserable within a company's symmetry sheet?

Question:

Answer:
All the little stuff added up.
other things
Other Assets? Would mean anything representing a efficacy (book value, lowest of, cost or present souk value) on the Asset side of the Balance Sheet.
other assets are normally number of assets of different open-handed that cannot be classified under separate head and are typically of smaller value next to notes to accounts giving their description.
It mechanism anything that is so small that it shouldn't enjoy its own line on the stability sheet and also doesn't fit into any of the other asset categories. In my experience, prepaid expenses brand up the largest portion of other assets and many symmetry sheets will say "Prepaids and Other Assets" instead of purely "Other Assets" Some other examples of other assets include non-trade receivables (any receivable that is not related to the company's biggest source of revenue), prepaid insurance, any sort of employee benefits that the company remunerated for in credit of receiving the employee's pay-out for the item. But, really it can be anything in here. The financial statement footnote related to other assets should explain in broad or specific what the items are.
