The one and only reason I see for one a non-profit is that as a for-profit business no one within their right mind would finance the start-up operation. Few years ago while on a U.S. Marines "Toys 4 Tots" funraiser target refuse to help near the Christmas charity with give toys and other gifts to needy family for christmas as their policies are no donations to military organizations of any character regardless of what it does. Target does give like mad of charity to education and gay/lesbian communities heavily though. So they are pretty dismal but not all that impossible for a French owned corporation.
