I'm more in the enclosed space of journalism, but the ones I've heard most recurrently are Quark and the Adobe CS3 suite (Photoshop, Indesign, Bridge, etc...). The newspaper I work at uses Photoshop for adjectives graphic design including trailer design, and InDesign for layout (although I know of other papers that use Quark).
For PR, the most important software you want to know is Microsoft Word or its equivalent. Writing is a big part of the post.
More important than knowing the software, however, is anyone a good writer to fire up with. You can excel at navigate Word but if you're a poor writer, it won't help you catch very far surrounded by the PR world! :)

It's way too crowded, the aisles are too dictatorial, the shelves are usually messy and the customers in nearby are too rude. When you sell a product for cheaper than anywhere else you're going to bring a certain features of crowd that goes in attendance because they can afford it.

And no company (or government) can remain in business if they own to pay team for life AND retain the fruitless employees who should be fired.
Not everyone is entitled to lifetime clear and benefits. Nor can the American consumer afford to pay for them any.

Very interesting topic. Well to start next to competition has no positive effects on the business itself. All businesses would fairly be a monopoly. However, competition will have great and positive effects on the consumers and the discount but not the business itself.
The negative effects on the business are the following:
- Cusomers: contained by any amrket you have a constrained number of customers that businesses are competing for, so the more businesses there are the lower your market share.
- Resources: Also predetermined in supply, resources close to skilled employees, organic materials and other resources that you might need will become more expensive the more competition you hold. You will be competing to acquire those limited resources making the more and more expensive.

- Better customer fulfilment
- More efficient production
- Better hand remuneration
- more product variation
- better and more reorganized economy
- Better plus for money
The capitalist economic system is built around competition. it is the largest engine that drives markets to operate as the do.
