Lidl do not pay minimum wage, however they do emergency alot of work as these stores are under-staffed and over worked purposely as it keeps costs down for the consumers.

I don't think it is wrong. It is totally acceptable under the law of India. The salary for a month should be credited inwardly 7 days of completion of the month. Simply put, the salary should be credited on or earlier 7th of the month. But there are varying practices among different companies for this.
My company keep month from 21st of first month to 20th of next month. So, my take-home pay for the first month is credited by 27th of next month.
It is not open-minded to compare India and USA like this. There are plentiful differences in their law, and the implementation of the law. I would suggest you to get accustomed to the law of India. You have to work inwardly them, whether you like it or not.
Please, don't bring this wrongly. I am not trying to demotivate or frustrate you. I just want you to adopt the reality.
