Credit Questions and Answers

What should i do if a credit card company garnish my wages without a judgment?

Answers: Federal and state garnishment laws can be used to stop, start and avoid wage garnishment actions by consumers, creditors and collectors. Wage garnishment (except student loans) is only possible after creditors and collectors obtain a court ordered judgment for such action. The garnishment action, otherwise known as "administrative wage garnishment" can be up to 25 percent of your disposable income.

Your employer will have to provide you with the paperwork that they recieved. If they don't have the proper paperwork then get a lawyer.
Your wages can't be garnished without them having a judgement.

but nothing ever happen to him (this was in the past identity theft be really big).

My question is, immediately that my daughter will be going to college in a few years, how can we generate sure that her credit slate is clean? I get collection calls for years, and as lately as this summer, my 14 year old get a summons to appear in court for an antiquated debt.

Answers: I would pull a credit report on her. If it is showing any of these ancient debts, I would go to the police, courts, bank commissioner with a copy of the credit report , copy of the police report and her birth cert and her SS# card.
I would hope that someone from any of thoses places would be capable of help you.
