Credit Questions and Answers

Are co-signers reported on credit for auto loan? (texas)?

Im a co-signer on technically my own car. I dont know how that happen with my girl one the primary. But anyway, I use to live in Illinois and they didnt report because they said it be an illinois law or something. How do I find out if this is alike for Texas? I would like these payments to show on my reports. I am near Chrysler Financial.

Answers: Auto loans should be reported on both signers credit the only entry that will show is either a "J" for communal or a "C" for co-sign under the lenders identify on the left side of your report.

No one that looks at your credit will know how to tell who is the primary signer and who is the inferior signer.

I work for a Chrysler dealer and they should be reporting on both of you.
If you are mutual on the loan (co-signer would be joint), it should be showing up on both credit reports as both are held responsible for the debt.

By the way, it is a really doomed to failure idea to co-sign for anyone you are not married to. If they don't reward on time, you draw from all those lates on your report and can't do anything in the region of it. No matter how close you are to that friend, mixing finances can destroy any friendship.

How long does a deliquent account stay on your credit file? I've had mine since 2001.?

Answers: Negatives stay on your credit file for 7 years and 180 days from the date of the FIRST DELINQUENCY, not last activity. This is controlled by the FTC and the items cannot be re-aged.

Statute of Limitations (SOL) which is the timeframe to bring lawsuit varies from state to state. It is based on the date of last activity. Payment can reset the clock.

People frequently confuse and merge these two things and pass on bad information.
7 years is the average, but sometimes it can remain for longer and you must have it purged.

My sister stole my identity, how do I remove this unpromising credit short prosecuting?

After paying off adjectives my credit cards, auto loan and mortgages, I let my credit sit short activity for days gone by seven years. I tried to finance a saloon the other day and found out that in attendance is nothing on my credit report except a deliquent, closed to non sum Visa from Bank of America and a a delinquent closed account due to non sum from Lane Bryant. AFter investigating (I never had these 2 cards), I found out it be my sister. How do I get these impossible reports off my credit report minus prosecuting my sister? I want her punished, but not go to detention centre! And I know she doesn't have the 5K to repay the cards.

Answers: You just have two choices.

Not punish your sister and punish yourself by accepting this debt as your own and paying it. While the statement would now show full compensated, the deliquency would stay on the account for years.

Alternately you folder a police report and allow her to be prosecuted...then you directory the police report with the lenders to own the delinquent account removed from your credit history.
My Wife go through this a couple of years ago with her Son and nearby is no way of doing this lacking filing a police report and the sending copies to the lenders.

Some police departments will not budge after people since it's a family circle thing and they don't assume people will show up surrounded by court to testify.

My Wife told the police she wanted them to jump after her Son and they still refused.
I agree next to the other posters. This happened to a friend of mine, her mother stole her identity and totally have trashed her credit by the time she was 22. Ten years next she (my friend) is still paying things off because they said near was nought they could do if she didn't prosecute her mom.

If you don't want to prosecute your sister, you will need to wage off the debts, but if I be you I would make my sister income me money every single month until they are paid rotten. I wouldn't care if she have the $5,000 - she can work 3 jobs if she have to so that she can right her wrong.
