Can creditors or debt collectors do this?

I sent in a settlement communication to some collection agencies to resolve some unpaid returned checks. I want to pay them, they are little amounts, below $50. I got a roll today in the post and now it say that each one is over $120. they added on interest and "other fees" lying on the returned check fee and inventive check amount. can they do that? if not, how do i respond?

Answers: Yes they can do that, but since you are prepared to pay they may settle for smaller amount than what they are stating you owe. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.

Annual Pay is what you are paid for the whole year.

Obviously, you can calculate what you will be paid per month by dividing by 12.

Assuming a 40 hour work-week, you can calculate your hourly rate by dividing your annual salary by 2080 (52*40). Of course, if this is a salaried, rather than hourly position, you may work more than 40 hours, but it will give you a point of reference.
