Debtors prison was abolished in most civilized countries, including the United States, in the 19th century.

Why aren't you paying? Most places will work with you if you make a good faith attempt to pay your debt.
no you wont go to jail.
But this is soo short sighted.
YOu might have to go to court..and the creditor might put a lien on your house or garnish your wages.
If you can make even small payments try to do that .
In the end you will be happy that you did your best to pay your bills because sooner or later, everyone of us has the need for credit
No you won't go to jail for debt unless you defrauded the company. (which is hard to proove). Now if you run up 50K or so in debt and then don't pay anything, they might question that. But 2500... no.
