Where do signed charge slips travel?

Once someone signs a charge slip (at a restaurant, for example), what happens to that charge slip? If someone needed to find a charge slip from a restaurant almost 2 years ago, what are the probability of finding that?

Long story short, Jim and Sally were dating and open up a joint credit card commentary online. They later broke up, And Sally accuse Jim of identity fraud claiming she had no awareness of the credit card. However, Sally used the card that was contained by her name at a restaurant. The charge slip near her signature would be proof that she had know-how of the credit card. So how would Jim go around finding that charge slip?

Answers: You probably won't have much luck getting a copy of the slip immediately, but you can contact the issuing bank for the card and see if they hold the record of any charges on HER card.
How long ago be the LAST charge on HER card, that would be the best place to start, or look to see if there are charges made to hotels etc. (these places tend to hold better access to signed forms).
If the only charge is from a restaurant, you will call for to know the exact date and amount that was charged, and after contact the facility and see if they can help locate the bill.
If it was a shared account, the credit card company will enjoy a copy. That's how they suspicious fraudulent charges etc.

They may or may not be able to retrieve it from 2 years agao, you'd hold to ask them.
Best bet would be to contact the credit card company and request a copy of the charge slip. It is unlikely the restaurant would have a copy of the slip.

Always a desperate idea to unfurl joint accounts beside someone you are not legally married to.
The credit card company will not own a copy. The only place that would hold a copy is the restaurant, and at this point even they may not. At our place we kept all receipts for 5-8years, so nearby is a small chance they may (for potential audits depending on recordkeeping methods).

One possibility though is if the card be in her given name, then the CC company would enjoy the proof of charge that was undisputed. Meaning they sent a statement dictum "THis charge was on her card, you enjoy 60-90days from statement date to dispute it. If you do not, then it is valid". The press then would be "If not you next who used it?"

Who is the primary cardholder? Jim or Sally? That would be an issue. If Sally, then that would show she got adjectives the statements as well. If Jim, next Sally is just an authorized user (and responsible for her own charges but not Jim's... and Jim is responsible for ALL charges on any card on the account).
My employer keep all of the slips, not sure how far hindmost. But you may want to check with the restaurant to see if they hold it still, good luck they do!

Good luck!
