Can your wages be garnished for a repo if it was already charged off?
Answers: Charged off simply means the Original Creditor is getting the debt off its books, passing it to a collection agency.
To garnish or levy your assets (bank accounts), the owner of the debt must sue you (serve a summons and then receive a judgment against you). Call the civil suits division at the courthouse in the County and State in which you signed the contract.
How old is the debt? Each state has its state-specific Statute of Limitations on "COLLECTIONS". In Florida, it's 4-5 years depending on the "type of" debt.
You may be outside the legal limits for debt collection, which will be your clear defense should a debt collector serve you.
And then, does your state allow for garnishment of wages? Check your state's specific laws.
Is this bad credit account reported 100% accurately (Date of First Delinquency, amount, account numbers, etc)?
If not, credit reporting agencies either must report 100% accurately (rarely can they) or delete. This is 100% legal and effective credit repair, using federal law to protect consumers.
Best to you,
Mike
If they take you to court get a judgment and you live in a State that allows wage garnishment the answer is yes.
They can also attach your bank accounts and file liens on any other property you own like cars, boats, land and homes.
Depends. First, depends upon whether or not there is a deficiency on your repo. Second; they must get a judgment against you. Have they filed yet?
Third, does your state allow garnishment of wages? Most do; some do not, such as Texas.
Finally, garnishment after obtaining a judgment can also be effected against bank accounts or they may levy against other assets. Have you tried to work it out with this creditor?
charged off means its in collections.
and yes, some collection places can garnish it

Can i get a home loan with bad credit? I already own my home i just want to do some work on it?
Answers: The reality is you probably can not without paying double digit interest rates at best. Why not work on the credit THEN on spending even more money responsibly.
Availing of a bad credit mortgage assists people with bad credit rating to own their homes. With tips on applying for bad credit mortgages easily available, getting it approved from bad credit mortgage lenders becomes a cakewalk.
To do that, ensure that you verify your actual credit rating. Check out your credit report properly and rectify any errors as that would harm the credit score. Take into account your cash assets and income. Many lenders look at these factors positively as they make up for the late payments and reduce the chances of becoming bankrupt.
