Is it true that when you file bankrupcy they close your bank account?
Answers: That is not true. Period
No it is not true.
However, you do have to list the account(s) and the amount(s) in them. This is so if you have a few hundred thousand dollars lying around they may require you to use those to pay off your debts. But for the average person in bankruptcy the amount in your account is usually no where near the level where they would require you to take money out.
As a rule, you shouldn't lose your bank accounts...
HOWEVER... :)
Should you owe money to a bank where you have an account, the bank can close your account and take the funds as a means of paying back anything that you might owe. This is why when you declare bankruptcy, your attorney will tell you to close any accounts where you owe money. For example, suppose you have a credit card with Bank ABC and two banks accounts with Bank ABC. Your attorney would probably tell you to close those accounts and take out the funds before you file your petition. I'm sure in the fine print when you opened your credit card/bank accounts, there is some language about how they can freeze your accounts to recoup losses. The reason your attorney will suggest this is that you're more likely to get fairness from the bankruptcy trustee appointed to discharge your assets than the bank who only cares about getting their money and not your best interests.
You may have trouble re-opening an account with a bank that you discharge debt from. Your attorney will tell you which accounts to close when you meet with him/her.
Good luck.
If I retribution bad my 8 credit cards...?
I have eight different visa/mastercards. Yes I know that's like mad and most of them are maxed out after christmas. If I pay them adjectives off almost how much will my credit score walk up. I plan on paying off in the order of 1,800 in the subsequent 5 months or so.Answers: There are so many factor in credit, and $1,800 is in actuality a very small amount, especially if explicitly your total credit limit for 8 different cards. It also depends on what your credit rack up is now, if you own a vehicle or a house, how old you are. I would right to be heard you'll gain at most 20 points.
It is recomanded to have 3-4 credit cards at maximum, more than that would lower your credit history.
Anyways, you hold 8 cards and already have them maxed out. For your credit evaluation to go up, you call for to make a monthly fee in full of what you owe. Try to money off everything as soon as possible, more time you obligation lower your score get. Good luck and next time try to do paperwork your budget and DO NOT overspend. You don't want to do your credit card company a favor by paying them money out of your pocket.
I am excited that you are going to pay stale your cards in the subsequent five months...I liked the other answers so my three cents (adjusted for inflation) is that a great opening to pay sour all the cards is to variety minimum payments on all of them but the lowest one..that one you pay cheque the most on every month...after that one is paid you do duplicate thing beside the next...and so forth until you are done.
This style your goal become real and you can see the progress against the clock.
after you are finished, month six, use half of the money that you be making in payments to collect for xmas presents for the end of this year.I read nearly a woman who was startled to cut up her cards so she put them in the freezer (in a ziplock sack and a cup of ice) This was plenty of a delay that she have time to think going on for her impulse purchases.
If you can, start making list NOW of things that you would like to purchase so that you can own an idea of what you are going to spend of respectively person and I don`t know you might even be able to find some of the things on public sale BEFORE then. Either approach you will have a budget...if you do, it is smaller quantity likely you will step over it and you can cross things off the register thus reducing the urge to overbuy
For example (everyone has some sort of mart on winter coats this time of the year) Does your sister like tub and body works stuff? All of the xmas baskets are 75 percent off right immediately.a set that would have cost you 40.00 will cost you ten and afterwards you can mark her rotten your list...Of course you dont hold to do it like this but you attain the idea.
xmas is much easier to operation with if you do rather at a time instead of all at once.

Question: what is your lowest card boundary and your highest card restrain?
It sounds like your cards are adjectives between $300-$500 limits. Cut up the cards that enjoy the lowest limits. Pay them stale, but charge nothing else to them. Later on, you could request replacement cards. But right in a minute, you want to show that you won't abuse your cards by maxing them out. Keeping them approachable, but not using them is a great way to do that.
Then I would pocket the card you have have the longest and one of the higher hold back cards. Try to keep it to newly those two and try to apply for a credit increase on one (or both) of them. Having higher restrictions on fewer cards looks better because it shows that someone have trusted you with credit more than once and you own not abused it too much. Also, if you don't max these out, it makes your debt to credit ratio shrink which mode that (even though you can) you aren't charging more than you can afford to pay (assuming your purchasing conduct remain the same). Do this and you should by all manner see a score restoration in a few months.
Right presently, it seems to speak that lots of places are looking at you as a somewhat high credit risk. They are feeling like to take the risk, but not by much. You want your credit report to say aloud "I've been trusted contained by the past, and that trust be well-founded...and here's the proof. I won't let you down any."
Good luck.

Call all of them and work out a allowance plan and try to get your interest lowered or stopped.
Then, product the minimum payments on every one of them. On the lowest dollar value, put adjectives your extra effort toward paying it past its sell-by date. Once it is paid past its sell-by date, then roll that extra money to the subsequent largest balance. Continue this snowball until adjectives your debts are paid past its sell-by date.
You probably need to cut your expenses put money on to the bare minimum. Get rid of cable, cell phones, internet, etc. Lower your electric bill, gas bill, wet bill, etc. Don't eat at a restaurant until your debts are underneath control. Take a sandwich for lunch. Cancel the gym membership.
