So why haven't you gotten rid of the deragatory items? What is your FICO? It doesn't situation if you have 10 secured cards if your ranking is still crappy. Forget wasting precious points applying for credit you don't even know if you will qualify for in the first place.
Buy your FICO at MyFICO.com and afterwards go to www.creditboards.com & register after use their credit pulls database to see if you're score is honourable enough. I notably doubt it since you have 2-3 (you should know exactly how frequent negative accounts you enjoy from your credit reports) deragatory items.
Do check items on your credit report and clean it up , you can dispute them online and procure results in 2 weeks or so. it may fashion a big differnce to your score

i got a credit alert motto there be an inquiry from something/someone called "Factual data" next to a phone number of (800) 929-3400 attached to it.any idea what this is? it say the date was on the 16th of this month.
i am waiting for a credit check to move about through for a job next to the TSA... do you think this could be it? except... any ideas?
