Closed Credit Cards OVER 7-10 years?? CREDIT??

We recently go to re-finance our home and there are CC bills on my credit that the accounts are closed as I wrote packages to them canceling the accounts and it does say closed however, why would they still be showing up if they are closed and as far final as 1996? What exactly does "dropping off" of your credit report mean, I would own thought these wouldn't even show up after all this time? I am totally confused nearly credit reports. Is there anything to do to procure those removed? Or does them being on at hand even matter if they are closed? Any aid is appreciated and I thank you for taking the time to answer! Trina

Answers: Some people mistakenly believe when an depiction is closed in well brought-up standing, a person loses both the history and the credit hamper instead of only losing the credit reduce.

My answer is based on the accounts person in perfect standing when you closed them and not negative accounts -

Old closed positive accounts still oblige boost your credit scores. Even though they are closed, you still hold the long history of the accounts.

Accounts that are closed in apposite standing will remain for 10 years. They can even remain longer if the creditor continues to report it past the 10 year blotch. (some creditors do, some don't)

Closing an account will tight the loss of the credit limit which will kind the overall utilization on the other cards/loans go up.
Closing an report does not mean losing the history. That history will report until that pernickety account drops rotten.

For example, say you hold 6 accounts.
3 accounts that were surrounded by good standing and you closed them 10 years ago
3 accounts that are contained by good standing that you "opened" merely 2 years ago.
While those older accounts are reporting you will show a 10 year history, which is well-mannered.
When the 3 older accounts drop stale, it will drop your history to only 2 years. Your score will take a hit for losing the history from the 3 elder accounts.

If the accounts were closed within good standing and still reporting since 1996, you are lucky since they are giving you a longer history.
you closed them surrounded by 1996? they have no stance on your current score.

Can i ring up HSBC and stop a transaction past its sell-by date my credit card?

i brought some shoes online and now i'm have doubts about the company - the company have my card details but said they wouldn't debit my account till the shoes become available again within a few days. Anyway, can i stop the allowance altogether by ringing up HSBC?

Answers: further to potters advice run a copy of your order next to you to see your bank examiner. you could ring them up, but the chances are you will not enjoy any luck online. you are more likely to capture someone to take you seriously if you are within branch.
ringing hsbc is not likely to go and get you anywhere. you need to put things within writing for your own protection. otherwise if this company is untryustworthy you will be liable for any losses in rider to the cost of the shoes.
that said if this company are like dab.com they will take your lay down online, verify your card details but not take reward until they ship your order.
if you be prompted with the mastercard or other endorsement scheme pane during payment processing after you need not verbs. assuming you have registered a password for your donation cards with a personal kindness message. only if the response message is seen do you enter your password.
such as on both the www.dab.com website and on www.dominos.co.uk amongst others. this is one way to ensure your card details are in safe hands when shopping online.
When buying online, many companies will one and only debit your card when they send the stuff to you. Did you buy from a big cross company or a smaller one?

When it comes to card fraud, generally you can summarise as following.

-If you haven't done anything to put together the fraudster's life easier, approaching revealing PIN numbers etc, then your ridge will reimburse you for any losses (so they'll pay contained by other words)

-You should keep an eye out for any suspicious transactions that you do not recognise on your statements and report them straight to your bank. It's best to check statements when you draw from them, not weeks later.

-Some bank, HSBC being one of them, study out for sudden and unusual transactions on their customers credit cards, like several hulking ones in fast succession, which could be an indication of a card having be stolen or cloned, in which skin they will call you to check that you enjoy made these purchases.

With the above taken into account, I don't contemplate you have any entail to worry.
No, but when you return with your bill find the one you don't believe should be there and turn the bill over and answer the question, and send it to the address stated. They are great nearly removing the charge and investigating it. It will help if you hail as and complain to the company first because they will ask that on the back. Its really smarter to use your card and wage it off respectively time for that security.
