Credit card companies cause their money from interest and fees..in that writ.

If you are rewarded a few pennies per dollar spent, they can realize 15-22% interest per month on your balance owed...Paying you 8 cents to acquire $1 back isn't such a doomed to failure deal

Can depositing a bad check in my bank account affect my credit in any kind of way?

Answers: Only if you spend the money and end up with a negative balance when the back deducts that bad check. Then if you don't repay the money, you could end up in collections.
If you deposit a bad check the bank will charge you a Not Sufficient Fund (NSF) fee and if the bank send you a notice and you do not pay the amount on the check + the NSF fee back to the bank you will then have committed a criminal offence. If the matter goes to court, it also goes to the Credit Bureau and so it will affect your credit score and you will get a criminal record too/ and besides whatever you do you will still have to pay up anyway. This happened to my neice and now she has a felony on her record.
