Will closing devout standing credit card accounts (3) effect my credit surrounded by a glum process?

I just applied for two credit cards that offer I was interested contained by. I want to close the three I currently have and hold had for several years because I do not want 5 active credit cards. Can I close out these accounts near out harming my credit?

Answers: Closing accounts surrounded by good standing *will* in fact lower your credit score. There are three reason for this.

First is that it will lower the total amount of credit extended to you. Banks assume that if you have a colossal amount of credit already extended to you, you must be a good credit risk.

Secondly, it will lower the ratio of credit debt to extended credit. Let's vote that each of the five cards that you hold has a $5000 restrain. Now let's say that on respectively of the two new cards, you put $3000 worth of purchases on respectively. With the five cards at $5000 each and $3000 on two of them, you are using $6000 of your total $25,000 credit extended. That way you're using 24% of your extended credit, which is acceptable. However, if you close your three elder cards, you'll have singular $10,000 total extended credit, and you'll be using 60% of it, which most banks consider too illustrious.

Thirdly, you'll be removing three accounts which help establish a long, positive credit history. If you close those, you'll be moved out with two strange accounts, each next to a short history. Banks like to see accounts next to *long*, positive histories.

Personally, I don't see any reason to close the three elder accounts. If you don't want to use them, just shred the cards. But closing them *will* lower your credit ranking.

Hope this helps!
I closed one credit card next to no adverse affect
The fact is that if you want the most positive effect on credit, you want to own only 2 credit cards you use. More than to be exact a bad point. Close the ones you do not want. More likely than wounding your credit, this may prove a positive thing. However, these cards own helped to estaablish your credit. However, you must realize that applying for more than one unmarked card in a year can enjoy a negative effect.
Choose meticulously, choose now, and anything you do, keep your revolving debt as low as possible- even to not more than 10-15% of your lolly flow. Your goal is to build your credit near the two cards you choose
I understand wanting to close them, but the adverse affect is that you also close you credit history. When bank review you credit they like to see interested tradelines (Credit). At least three is conventional. If they are old accounts and surrounded by good standing, it shows more responsibility on your quantity. Leave them open, only just to use them. Also if you leave them unseal and don't use them some companies will close the account sue to inaction, so watch out for that.

Does anyone know how to get a free credit report online without having to use a credit card?

Answers: annualcreditreport.com is the only one that is TRULY free. Most people don't know that you are entitled to one free credit report from all 3 bureaus per year. You can do so at that website.
The free credit reports are useless
They only show 1 fico score from 1 bureau and they are scams.

You want to go through a company that can do it for you on all 3 bureaus. If you call the # below and give the guy this code he can do it for you on all 3 bureaus cheap.

Give him code RA
All three reporting companies must give you a free report once a year. To do it on line go to "annualcreditreport.com" or you can call 18773228228. This was set up by the federal government. The best way to do it since all three are similar is to do them 4 months apart. This way you get a better picture of how you are doing credit wise. They will try to sell you some thing but you don't have to buy anything or give them a credit card number.
