Is it true that a company can't report you to a credit agency if they don't enjoy your SSN?
I keep reading that companies resembling Columbia House can't follow up on their threats to turn your account over to a credit agency or whateer because they don't enjoy your social security number. Is this true? Sounds kinda iffy to me.Answers: Not true. The issue you are discussing is credit accounts vs. trade accounts.
My gym sponsorship, cable company, video store, etc do report account commotion to the credit reporting agencies. If I don't pay on my 2 year gym contract, they will turn it over to a collection agency, who will consequently notify the credit bureaus that I have a collections story. If they get a sentence against me, the local court may report that incidence.
A trade account could be reported beside just a moniker and address.

They can sell your debt to a collection agency but in need a ssn they cannot place it on your credit report. If they do, contact an attorney.
Be careful of who you supply your ssn to. Anyone who have it can place anything on your credit report.

Every credit card is pretty much the same, purely remember that whatever you buy wage your full balance respectively month and you will have angelic credit. Gas cards are usually unproblematic to get, and you don't hold to buy things you don't need to rack up credit. Apply for a card at your local gas station, settle it off for a few months and later try again for a basic visa or mastercard at your local wall where you own your checking.
