Made some bad decision with a credit card stern in 2005, get behind and couldn't be paid my payments.

Now in 2008, i am strongly on my foot, i can pay this story (of course it's in collections now) contained by full.

The account is next to Compass Bank...It's a Compass Bank Visa card...Compass Bank uses "Harvest Credit Mangement" as their first route of collecting money. Well i never recieved anything from Harvest, and paid as much as i could every month, apparently it wasn't satisfactory.

Compass/Harvest hired a lawyer as their collector, okay now i enjoy the money to pay this rotten in full...But i am not paying a penny untill i gain a "pay for deletion agreement"

I am not settling..

Just looking for some counsel as for who to talk to.

Answers: The unbelievably best place on the web to swot how to deal beside stuff like this is creditboards.com .

Go in that and do a search for PFD or Pay for delete. You will probably find lots of info at hand about Compass and the Harvest company as resourcefully... and the very best bit is that you can find out how others have deal with this EXACT problem - and probably next to these exact companies.

The other thing is to do search on creditboards.com to find out what your statute of limitations is...

If I owe a debt and transport them a check as first allowance and they currency it, are they bound by that reimbursement plan?

I owe a nice chunk of change to a creditor. If I wrote a memorandum stipulating my payment plan near a check for the first payment and the creditor cashes it, are they bound by the agreement?

Answers: No, both party are bound by the original agreement.
No. You inevitability to look at "accord and fulfilment." You already have a permissible duty to pay the money within question, so you can't use that check as consideration to support a contract for them to adopt your payment plan.

Without consideration, within can be no contract. A preexisting duty is not consideration.

How masses credit cards are too various that start to hurt your credit?

Consider they all hold very low or no match.

Answers: One is too many, but they usually do not progress by the number of cards you have. they stir by your total available credit the max total on all cards (wether it is 1 or 6) consequently they compare to what you have charged, They consider your qualifications to pay subsidise the loan (income coming in) then they run into consideration payment history.. You should fetch no more than 50% of your max credit limit on your cards. Pay your small ones stale first....
please have not more , than 5 credit cards, best to passageway few-3 credit cards and 30% used up limit. if you max adjectives your cards it hurting your credit score, it is better to spread your cards up to 30 % respectively. than have one max out.

10 unstop credit cards with debt can hurt. Empty credit card don't hurt you that much. if you dont use them closed to minimum amount.
The set off doesn't matter.

The number doesn't event.

Do you pay your bill in good time? Yes.

Do you miss payments? No.

Then don't worry roughly it.

If you are missing payments, then you are hurting your credit.
Your maximum mark (associated with Credit Cards) is four. Actually LESS than that number ... or MORE than that number is a cynical impact.

That said, while the number of cards is a factor in your credit scoring .. it is a relatively small piece of the chalk up. Your balances relative to your credit availability, your reward record, and how long the accounts enjoy been expand have a much superior impact.

Hope this helps!
