I would like to get legal advice on how i can eliminate my depts. I owe credit cards and loan companies.?
Answers: Depends on what state u live in as to whether u can go with one of those "debt consolidation programs".
My plan for 2008:
Pay minimum on all med debt & credit cards (on time)
Create 3 new checking accounts
1. Gifts (Christmas, Birthdays, baby showers, etc.)
2. Travel/ Furnature (save up to take a trip somewhere fun)
3. Debt Paydown
I'm going to pay all my bills ontime
Lock my cards/check book in a safe
Pull cash out for fun money each week ($30)
Only Groceries and Gas on Bank card
Acct 1: $100, Acct. 2: $150, Acct. 3: $650
After 2 months I will have enough cushion to auto deduct into my new accounts.
On 4th month I will have enough money for an "emergency fund" in my "debt paydown account". So I don't create more debt if I have to replace a tire or medical emergency.
In 4th month I will start paying $650 from debt paydown into my credit card with the highest balance and interest rate
Then I work down the list of my credit cards, then med debt, then cars.
I should pay off like $5,000 in debt this year!
Can't give you legal advice - that would be illegal.
However ..
I would recommend you contact your local United Way and ask for a referral to a legitimate Credit Counseling service. They will be able to put you in touch with someone in your local area who can help you. (Consumer Credit Counseling Services - www.cccservices.com - is one of the only legitimate services of their kind that I'm aware of). I'm recommending you contact them through the United Way to prove that they're not a scam. You should have no or VERY low fees through them.
STAY AWAY from those groups that advertise on late night tv or in magazines. Also, stay away from those "get rich quick and easy" websites. 99.9999% of them are scams.
Good luck and hope this helps!
A free credit report web site that doesnt charge you?

What eloquent facilitate, can be offered NOW,to tricky working citizens, stuck surrounded by high-ranking interest debts, besides?
What meaningful assistance can be offered NOW,not after Elections for tough working, loyal, underpaid citizens, who will still, inspite of redicule of being stupid, or making doomed to failure decisions almost loans, continue to work beneath the current loan agreements, even if it kills them.Answers: In John Furhman's book The Credit Diet, he give several scenarios of how to take out of debt. (or are you asking about federal assistance, and not assistance within the form of tips?)
I'll assume you are looking for someone to answer the question of how to take out of debt, regardless of how they got into it (yes, it doesn't situation, because we all build mistakes, sometime several times before we get into real trouble). I be in debt for over $60,000. It be killing me near all the interest I be paying over time, but when I got this book, it really did set me free.
The book showed how I could prioritize adjectives my bills from highest interest rate, next by amount owed, then I would compensate off the ultimate first, while making minimum payments on the other cards; then when the peak was remunerated off, I would steal the money I was using to payment the highest rotten, add it to the minimum of the subsequent highest, and knock that one out, and so on, until I be done with adjectives of them. It took me 2 years, and I was completely debt free, impossible debt free, that is.
There isn't anything to be precise going to change the procedures of these bank and credit card companies. They will continue to charge ungodly high-ranking interest rates and keep an extremely close survey on your account for a sum to be fifteen minutes late.no concern what happens after the elections. No president (Democrat or Republican) is going to singlehandedly alter their policies.
That being said, once surrounded by a while, you can find a good loan program..if you do, forget the loyalty and step with the topical bank. The bank (not even a local one) care give or take a few your loyalty. I work as a bankruptcy paralegal and own seen this so heaps times.always be in motion with the best operation for you and forget them because they forgot about the rugged working, loyal, underpaid citizen a long time ago.
Elections are not going to change things much for general public with high-ranking interest debt, other than possibly some restructuring of subprime mortgages.
