Can a collection agency sue you surrounded by West Virginia?

I was contacted by a collection agency who said they be "representing" Verizon. They wanted me to pay packet $1600 for services a YEAR ago when my nephew accidentally hit the telephone dash when he was digging for the hose down lines to be laid. Verizon NEVER billed me for this. The collection agency has NEVER sent me anything within writing. Now they are calling and saying calamitous things to me. I am 80 years old and on Social Security. What should I do? Another family circle member who works for an attorney said that contained by West Virginia, collection agencies cannot sue you, just stress out you. Is this correct? I don't want to lose my Social Security.

Could you return something contained by Wal-Mart (Canada) afterwards buy equal product quickly afterwards?

Answers:   You're on social security, they cannot touch you. Send them a give up and desist letter describing them to stop.

It is also against the law for them to harrass you too. So how can a collection agency sue you, for something someone else did? Also, it would depend on your state law, but I do know that threatening and harrassing phone calls and post ARE against the law. You won't lose your social warranty, talk to your grip representative, and if need be, own an attorney send Verizon a enormously nasty missive. I wish you the best of luck. A collection agency can for sure sue you in WV, but they cannot bother you. They can ask you for payment, consequently sue if they don't get it. Then they can seize judgment within court - you'd want to go and discuss your side next, and take any documentation you might hold.

They CAN get you if you're on SS too. But it's smaller quantity likely they'd be capable of recover.
