I lived in the US for 14 years until my divorce 3 years ago. Now I'm rear legs in the Uk. My ex-husband who still lives within has lost his living and stung me with a credit card debt within my name of 7K US. He have been paying the minimum for 3 years to hold the debt total the same. I guess they still own his bank details but the card is solely within my name. He have agreed to pay this debt after our divorce but as you would expect I have nought in writing.
I could bite the bullet and money the debt from my wage in a division time job ( could pilfer forever ).
Or
I could bury my head contained by the sand and hope they don't or can't do anything.. They have my partner's address surrounded by the UK and nothing else. No email or handset or bank details.
Help! What should I do?

Chasing debts in another country is not just difficult, it's also extremely unefficent when you figure the money spent trying to rest. Not to mention that it's usually almost impossible to use any legal medium to collect since they'd have to receive a judgement here and have it domesticated surrounded by the UK, which may not even be possible.
A $7000 debt is not likely plenty for them to consider trying to collect overseas. At worst, they might get some debt collector to try and bother you into paying.
