On checkmyfile.co.uk you can sign up and get adjectives 3 reports. Or you can just write to adjectives three individually. Personally I think you're better rotten doing that. I've never used checkmyfile but Google turned up some bad reviews.
I don't reckon there is any disadvantage within checking your credit records and if within is something wrong on one of them, you can get an explanatory facts put on your file.
In the US, you are entitled to one free credit report from respectively credit bureau each year. (I believe you are thinking of TransUnion). Too heaps "hard" inquiries - such as for a mortgage or credit card - can hurt your credit but the self-pulled report does not count as a hard inquiry and will not show up.
freecreditreport.com is NOT the place to request this - this is a site for Experian - it is through annualcreditreport.org, I believe. Anyway, both of these will ask for a social payment number, which you probably don't have within the UK.
None of these reports will include your score - you obligation to pay and request that, from respectively of the companies, or from a combined request from one of those or another vendor.
Each have their own proprietary method for scoring and not all hold the same info. A recommended method is to ask for a free report every 4 months - one from respectively vendor at a time, so you can save frequent tabs on it.
You can also sign up for alerts so you don't enjoy to pull a intact report to find out if something major changed.
