can a merchant charge a 'merchant fee' when using my debit card?

Question:

Answer:
I am afraid, I will have to disagree beside the other respondents. I am a merchant and I can tell you, if your debit card is a Visa or Master Card branded debit card, my agreement beside Visa & MasterCard specifically prohibit me from charging any kind of excise to the customer for use of the card. Plain (non-branded) debit cards may have other rules.

Good Luck
They can do what they want. They enjoy to take a discount when they turn the card receipts within so it is only fiesta. THey are in business to net money not to provide free stuff to you.
Yes they can, and why not, they have to settle up a fee for running your debit!
Yes, but I believe you must be notify and approve of the fee previously the transaction is processed.
Yes as long as they inform you of the chaarge. It is not unlike an ATM fee. But you can bear your buisness elsewhere.

Sorry.
I'd like to see the 'no fee' clause superschupp mentioned. Even if it is surrounded by there, I saw a sign at a flee marketplace booth that sounds like a loophole. It read "All stained prices include a 3% cash discount. This cannot be applied to card purchases."

British Gas Charging lb120?

Question:
My cousin recently returned to live within London after 10 years in the US. She's have no trouble getting the phone, water, Sky and electricity contained by her name, but British Gas is a different story! The previous tenant have a card meter and she wants 's be trying to get the gas report transferred to quarterly billing. After several attempts she finally go thru to someone, she be credit checked and gave her guard details. She was told someone would be out the following morning. They did come, but only to reset the meter. When she call back she be told that a credit check wasn't done (it was!) and if she requirements a quarterly bill (which is how she's paying all her other utilities), she'll hold to be credit checked again and then reward lb120 deposit which she'll get spinal column at the end of the year! She's not have to pay a deposit to receive any of the other utilities and no-one she's asked has hear of this. Can British Gas LEGALLY do this? And can she get another supplier to install a non-prepay meter?

Answer:
Oh! I'm not reading adjectives that!
i'm not sure about the authority of it, but british gas have be known to con citizens. as for getting another meter put it it does cost a fair bit.

ensure that she speaks to someone within this country not abroad. and no i am not racist i myself am an indian.
British Gas is becoming a bit of a rip bad lately plenty of alternative suppliers can be found via http://www.uswitch.com (and at much cheaper prices than British Gas... or "Grittish Bass" as they were calling it contained by an advert for supplier nPower in recent months).
Two words, my friend, legalised robbery!
I have exactly the same problem apart from the reality i'd waited 12 months up to that time asking for the meter to be changed for a quarterly one.I had 12 months of card meter usage which should enjoy given british gas a good notion of what i use but they wanted a deposit. i go straight to powergen who sent me a card for the same meter and said as soon as i receive it consequently ring them to ask for the meter to be changed which they did straight away.thats all you want: straight forward flawless old fashioned service and much cheaper than british gas!
Yeah, theres alot more other gas companies than british gas and I would look elsewhere. They can't treat potential customers similar to that with lb120 deposits, thats not the path to attract custom so I would try other companies, look around on the web for some

Help! I lend my employer money. Now he file bankrupcy. What can I do to retrieve my money?

Question:

Answer:
Did you lend money to your employer "the person" or to the employer "the company"? Do you have a signed Promissory Note that states it will be repaid and when?

If you lent the money to "the person" later you can collect through a small claims court judgement. You will require proof that a loan was made. For instance, a cancelled cheque that shows it be a loan. Or if you know that he has personal property, placing a lien on this property (you might obligation to call the Balliff to enforce the lien) could work.

If you lent the money to "the company" next you would become one of the creditors affected by the liquidation. You will also require proof that money is owed and you will be paid once the assets of the company enjoy been sold. You may not receive the entire amount as creditors are usually remunerated a percentage of what is owed based on the lolly obtained from the Dutch auction of assets.

I hope this helps and that you are competent to have your money returned fully.
Unless he signed something, deplorably you are out of luck. Consider it a valuable lesson well-read. Hopefully, he will find a way to remuneration you back.
Unless you own a legal document, you may be stuck. You will own to go to your local magistrate and wallet a claim in small claims court.
That depends, do you hold a contract? If you do, then you will entail to get involved next to the bankruptcy proceedings, and you will be treated approaching any other creditor--although, my guess is that you will be considered less crucial than large-scale creditors.

If you don't have a contract, you will probably find it impossible. Hope you didn't lose too much.
Not too much. List your claim next to proof to the trustee and you then become an unsecured creditor. In a ruin, unsecured creditors 99% of he time, get zilch as they rate second last on the decree of disposal proceeds by the trustee. Usually, there is nil left.
Did you lend it to the company or to him individually? Who filed the liquidation? Him or the company? If you lent him the money and he filed collapse then you are necessarily out of luck. You can be added as a creditor and you might get 10 cents vertebrae on the dollar but most likely various other people are going to come ahead of you (morgage company, bank, credit cards...) Good luck
legally - stand within line or procure on with your enthusiasm.
in your magazine put the money under 'dummies taxes' and curriculum learn once single.
oh my god, did he sign something that said you lent him money, and when he had to retribution it back by? if you didnt within 's nothing you can do because he file bankruptcy and that states that he doesnt enjoy any money and he needs minister to. you might be stuck. if anything you can take him to small claim court and sue him. but you call for proof that you lent him money in the first place. you other need proof.
get a crowbar?
Hopefully you got it contained by writing. Otherwise, there's probably not going to be much you can do.
If you have proof and he does not inventory you as a creditor in the ruin wait for the collapse to be finalized and then attempt to collect the deb through small claims court. If he does not reimburse it turn it over to collection. He will not be able to wallet bankruptcy again for 8 years.

No account then hopefully he will do the right entry.

But if you push him now and you hold proof he can just make the addition of you to his list of creditor so rear legs off and lurk. Then you can take him to court when he can not contend bankruptcy again.
Good luck.
You are presently an unsecured creditor. You will need to continue in queue with adjectives of the other unsecured creditors in hopes of getting your money fund. Hopefully you had gotten your employer to sign an IOU/loan agreement when you lent him the money. If you didn't, next you're out of luck and most likely you won't return with anything back since you are not competent to document the debt.
Contact a bankruptcy attorney to discuss your rights lower than the bankruptcy law in your State. You can seize references from the local fishing rod association.

Bankruptcy laws own changed recently, and you may know how to get most, except all of your money vertebrae.
Never lend money to an employer! Unless you can prove fraud I think you are out of luck
If your employer requests a loan from you, that is your first clue to update your resume and start using it. That said, you are an unsecured creditor. you may gain part of you money stern, but don't expect much. To whoever said to wait until the collapse is settled, then run him to court: I'm not a lawyer, but I'll bet he could argue that because you know about the ruin and didn't present your claim, you effectively waived the right to collect.
If he file bankruptcy and planned you as one of his debts, then you can forget it you will never ever see your money. Bankruptcy, especially a Chapter 7 wipe out everything except student loans, child support taxes that are 3 years old etc. Sorry to bring up to date you but just consider it as a lost :(

Who know how to carry inquiries sour of your credit report?

Question:
The credit bureaus said after two years, it would fall sour. Is there any other bearing?

Answer:
It's damn near impossible.

Every time I've done a dispute on my credit report, I've disputed some inquiries. It's never worked. You would hold to get the personality who did the credit pull to put contained by writing that you never intended to have the inquiry done. And they never will.

All you can do is delineate your inquiries going forward as best you can, as it's really only the ending 6-12 months that impact your scores.
U cant! They will remain in that for at least 1-2years..
u cant gain removed
Dont think they be going to much on report. Too many might be suspicious but it also shows you shop around. I would not verbs. Just late payments and judgements.
If the inquiries resulted from a credit application you made, you can't enjoy them removed. If they were not authorized, you can dispute them close to any other incorrect information.
Maybe you can try below website to get the information you involve
there is no other style. sorry.

Credit Question...?

Question:
My mom put me on three of her credit cards about 2 years ago when I have no credit, and she wanted to support me out. Now I have my own credit, and don't involve it anymore. What would happen if she took me past its sell-by date of those cards, when there is a match on them? My credit score go way down when she transferred some balance to two of the cards I was on. What would my credit report look similar to if she took me off the large balance cards? Thanks for any give a hand! :)

Answer:
That a fairly flowing question. The Credit Bureaus contained by very uncomplicated terms look at you income and the amount that you owe when you owe alot vs. you income you are a unpromising credit risk and you score go down. When you pay it sour you have a well-mannered income and no debt yo are a good credit risk. So if you are removed from you mom's two cards your debt will jump down if not disappear and you credit rating will reorganize.

Now for the bad word what you did not ask. Your mom may have a strong time removing you from her credit cards at this point. Reason being that the credit card company in a minute has two inhabitants to go after to collect the debt not one, it double near chance of collecting. Also ask your self would you release one creature for the obligation if the money be owed to you... not a smart move on on the credit card company as long as at hand is a balance on the rationalization . If the credit card company refuse to remove you from the description ( I think you own a 50/50 chance) your mom can try and transfer the the harmonize to a new vindication in her designation only.

To substantiate a loan I must correspondence a reminder requesting validation?

Question:
I have found this communiqu¨¦ to mail to the collectors
http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sa...
Wait 30 days and its any validated or removed. How regularly can and should I mail this missive. AM I HEADED IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

Answer:
The main purpose of debt validation is to win a negative item removed from your credit history.

If the creditor fail to validate the debt, it does not relieve you of the trial responsibility to pay the debt, and they can still sue you.

That said, you convey the validation letter to the creditor, and they own 30 days to respond. If they don't, any credit information must be removed from your credit history. If they don't, you can sue them for $1000.
If it is alot you may want to consult with an attorney. Most second-hand goods debt buys never have the documents to support. if they don't hold it is must disappear off your credit and they cannot sue you. but call upon a lawyer up and relay them and they will advise, should be free over the phone. You will obtain rude ones then a short time ago keep Trying other ones. I have a old roommate that moved out and they kept calling i have my lawyer dispatch a cesit and desist letter out certified/guess what they kept calling even scare my little boy. I contacted my lawyer and we complete a suit and won, 3k for the harassment.

What is a fraud investigation?

Question:

Answer:
Fraud is a criminal activity and if found guilty it is imagined that someone convicted will be imprisoned. Fraud investigations are epic, expensive, complex and difficult to prove.

You do not give details of any specific investigation or the alleged fraud concerned so I am not sufficiently expert to add further information.
it is a criminal investigation within to fraud!
if you have committed any fault, that has to be investigated, next that is a criminal investigation.
as fraud is a crime it to have to be investigated.
A fraud investigation is usually a forensic audit that looks for evidence of fraud when fraudulent activity is suspected. It is recurrently a combination of financial analysis, interviews, back ground checks and even some investigative work into the suspect's setting, habits, finances, lifestyle etc.
A fraud investigation is an investigation for relatives who have be a fraud.

When a fraud investigation takes place, the character who has be a fraud is questioned, asked his REAL label and all of that stuff.

After this, they establish whether the offencive things he has done while he be being a fraud is perfect or bad (Not locked away or Locked away).

A fraud is someone that pretends to be someone that they're not. Many society have done this within the past and nearby are some TV shows on the Television about this - I be a sign of fiction. There's this brilliant programme called Monk and it's going on for this man who solves cases and sometimes does Fraud Invesigations. Here's the website below in the source box.

Credit reporting agencies conduct fraud investigations on your behalf when you notify them of something fraudulent on your credit directory. The investigation process consists of them requesting full disclosure from the creditor to verify whether an account is legal, and the reporting agency provides all relevant information, such as the circumstances of the ID break-in, the name and any other information about the perpetrator, and any addresses that may enjoy been fraudulently used to get credit. How much am I responsible for?

Question:
Although my childrens father and I were never married, we lived together for 26 years and I used his later name for adjectives those years. He died last year and very soon I'm trying to clean up my credit history. He have several hospital and credit card bills. I was not eligable for any loss benifits so am I still responsible for his bills that show up on my credit report. We lived in Arizona most of that time and to be exact were he died.

Answer:
As far as credit obligation go, you are responsible for any justification for which YOU signed, jointly or individually, regardless of the nickname used.

If he signed individually, even if you benefited, you are not responsible.

As to sharing in an estate, I recommend you see an attorney.
You involve to see a lawyer ASAP. Consultations are usually free. Write down the question before you step as they usually only bestow you half hour. At most minuscule you will know where you stand. Good Luck.

How long does collection surrounded by your credit second? and does the effect reduce beside time?

Question:

Answer:
If you are dealing with credit cards or most guard loans, it will take 7 years for them to plummet off of your reports.

If the side was sold to a collection agency they cannot lawfully reage the account and report it longer than the inventive 7 years.

The reduction of plunder to your reports due to time is very minimal.

Some of the posters be right, if the account IS reporting correctly, you enjoy nothing to dispute it past its sell-by date with. If it is reporting inaccurately, you enjoy every legal right to dispute the inaccuracy and if the data furnisher will not correct the inaccuracy, by law, the tradeline must be removed.

If you are still in the collecting SOL, or not, and want to pay, you should convey the collection agency a debt validation letter and after they respond dispatch them a pay for delete notification. Requesting the negative article be removed upon payment. YES, collection agencys do breed deals resembling that everyday.

A paid denial is no better than an unpaid negative.

If you are out of the collecting SOL, you own every legal right to distribute them a SOL letter - which simply tells them the debt is time debarred for collections.
I think six or seven years. If it be me I would talk to creditor if you enjoy not paid them and cause a deal that would include removal bad your credit report.
I believe the answer to your first question is 7yrs. and as far as I know the make worse is done until the debt is paid at which point you can afterwards have it removed from your credit if you are likely to go through adjectives the paperwork
It stays on your credit report for 7 years. How much it effects your credit score depends on what you've done only just to improve your gain.

If you have one fruitless debt from 5 years ago but you've been paying every article on time for the closing couple years, the one problem from 5 years ago isn't going to look that bad.

If everything on your report is denial, you have a problem and will have need of to get some secured credit cards, salary everything on time and hang on to your debt low. Your score will leisurely start to improve. But it take longer to improve your win than it does to mess it up in the first place so don't expect a great modification overnight.

Contrary to what someone else said, you can't have an item removed from your credit report unless it is incorrect. Paying rotten a debt that is within collections shows that you have rewarded the debt which is a good item. It does NOT, however, remove it from your report. Your report will still show the debt that was behind or unpaid but it will also show that you have very soon paid it.

One postponed payment stays on your report for a long time so take-home pay bills on time. It keep your credit report clean.
Qoute:

Reporting Accurate Negative Information

When glum information in your report is accurate, simply the passage of time can assure its removal. A consumer reporting company can report most accurate cynical information for seven years and bankruptcy information for 10 years. Information just about an unpaid judgment against you can be reported for seven years or until the statute of limitations runs out, whichever is longer. There is no time check on reporting: information about criminal convictions; information reported surrounded by response to your application for a job that pays more than $75,000 a year; and information reported because you’ve applied for more than $150,000 worth of credit or go insurance. There is a standard method for calculating the seven-year reporting period. Generally, the length runs from the date that the event took place.

For more information, see Building a Better Credit Report at http://www.ftc.gov/credit

end qoute
Collection on credit can second for up to 7 years, but if you make a settlement after the time the account falls losing, it obligates you for 7 years from the date that settlement was received on that justification. The effect can reduce over time, as long as you start making on-time payments next to your accounts again, your credit score will start to increase. The best opening to regain your way to a better credit chalk up is to pay prompt each month, earnings more than the minimum payment scheduled on your statement, and pay your debts down to going on for 30% of the credit limit for respectively account. If you are not sufficiently expert to put that much money down (as most people live payday to payday) increase your minimum clearance by as much as you can to pay down your debt. I would suggest looking at your statements to see your minimum monthly clearance and add at most minuscule $10 to the amount of finance charges it shows for that current statement and factor that into your monthly donation.
The effect of EVERYTHING on your credit report is reduced by age. Under US law, denial information must be removed after 7 years, or 10 years for bankruptcy.
