experian.. urgent relief!?

Question:
Ive recently applied for credit, but the lenders advise that i have lb14 against my entitle unpaid, which i cant understand. They adv its from a retail store-Now the simply thing i can reason of is that i have a store card beside the arcadia group, which i have remunerated off surrounded by full a few months ago so the balance is very soon zero.Yet this lb14 have been owed since dec 2004. Why have nobody contacted me before to push for i owe this money.I have recieved no junk mail, or phonecalls and now when i ask for credit i bring refused even tho i be not made aware i owed anything..The lenders have adv to win a credit report from experian which i have sent past its sell-by date to do, but when this comes through i am not sure what to do next. Will i know how to pay rotten the lb14, or will i not ever be able to return with credit due to this reason. If its the latter consequently i am not happy, as i quality this is unfair. i payment off my bills reguarly and never miss payments? anyone else have similar situation. did u manage to settle the debt and catch credit?

Answer:
There is a methos that allows you to correct inaccuracies on your credit report. So find the lb14. take in touch next to the company involved and then gain them to confirm that you paid. you consent to experian have this confirmation, they are properly bound to take it past its sell-by date your report. They also notify anyone you ave approached for credit within the finishing X months and then everyone is jubilant.

and if you do find out you really owe it, you pay it stale and everyones is happy that style as well.
Hi. You requirement a debt relief. There are lots compnies offering this service for International custmors also. Check the list here. You will find the best one for you,
http://debt-relief-free.blogspot.com/...
Open up a contemporary and fresh Credit Account with some other outlet.
U can sort this out. I have a similar problem with a catologue company. Once yr experian report comes u will see where on earth the money is owed (even tho u don't owe it). contact them and ask them to explain y u owe it and let them look into it. Owing 14 quid shudnt really affect anyfin if u r clear everywhere else. If it's not owed later the company have a duty to contact experian and attain it taken off. Good look on sorting it and I individual wish their be more ppl like us who rewarded off our bills!
Challenge the credit report..Deny the 14 pds be outstanding.make the credit agencies substantiate it with the company that reported it..and cause a statement for your credit report that this is absolutely a falsehood and never happen especially if it can't be validated afterwards if it can't be validated ask for it to be removed from your report..The statement of denial become part of your credit report for adjectives other creditors to see your side of the story..Good Luck..
Contact experian and ask for a copy of your credit report. (this should be free...although they're allowed to make a small direction charge of a couple of quid).

Then you'll be able to see exactly what the problem is and can contact the company and experian to take it resolved.
If its a judgment against you you might not know how to get it removed, but can seize it marked as 'satisfied' (i.e. paid) which should back.

It might also be worth taking out a couple of new store cards and spending only a couple of quid on each and paying it stale in full on the dot.
Do not use the cards for more than a few quid and make sure they're rewarded in full and prompt.
This will help build your credit evaluation.
when you get your report stern from experian you can contact them and ask them to have any information i.e. wrong corrected or deleted. if you share a house it is possible that someone else within the house has uncured this debt surrounded by this case you can communicate experian that you have no financial links to them surrounded by this case it is delete from your records. you should individual be paying experian around lb5 tops for your details. you can also contact the arcadia customer service group and ask for all the details the hold on you. this can be done if you ask for it beneath the data protection stroke it will cost you around lb2 again you have the right to evolution any wrong information. always remember that wrong information can be changed and once it is changed your diary becomes verbs and there will be no account of it on your file.
What I did be contact the company I owed and paid it stale. I then asked them to update my credit report and I also required a letter to proove the money had be made and the account closed.

Updating your credit report can filch approx 1-2 months so I waited 2 months and applied for my credit report. It have been updated within that time.

However if a default is on your directory I have be told these can follow you for around 6years. All isn't lost though as you can put information of your own onto your credit report against and entry. On this entry you could put down what you've mentioned here to support any credit applications you make.

This information is read by any company doing a rummage on you so can help near further applications.

Good luck.

Child Received Credit Card; Underage?

Question:
My child, 17, received a credit card in the correspondence [he used a fake birthdate, but his legitimate SSN]; he spent 550 on it, but can only afford to compensate 100 of it. I read in another post, http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... that we can put an end to the account.

Will he receive impossible credit, though?

Answer:
Well being that the child is underage it will not affect his credit chalk up. For The company is actually suppose to investigate back issuing a line of credit. That is in truth the companies lost because someone decided not to do their errand that day. I am a insurance agent and that company have insurance called EOM coverage. Since that Employee made that mistake the company is covered.
Good Luck and God Bless
What would any parent of a minor do? Take the card away, verbs it & cancel it next to the card company. You dont have to make a contribution them a reason for doing it since they might inform the authoroties which will organize to endless problems for you & your kid. If in that is any money owed to that company, you should make your child foot for it himself. You can threaten to report him to the authoroties if he doesnt want to pay up. He must carry a job to afford it. dont you relief him out!
Canceling his account is the first compulsory step. And now comes the lesson he set out to revise from himself...the effects of credit scores. Your livelihood as parent is to teach not to bail out. Have him convey in the $100, after make sure that he is making monthly payments until the rest is remunerated off. Contrary to the first response, I would contact the agency and explain the situation. They are as much at imperfection as they did not research the birthdate. They may give you/your son a break on the interest rate if you promise to enjoy him pay it stale.

Another way of handling it would be to manufacture the payment (just to take home it and the interest go away) and create your son pay you spinal column. Maybe have him return some of the things he bought, or work it past its sell-by date in other ways. Just a suggestion.
I guess specifically wrong is that he got 450 worth of debt that he can't retribution right now?

I suggest he near the help of you to discuss next to the card issuer on how he can pay stale the debt, such as maybe paying 30 respectively month for the next 15 months or 90 respectively month for the next 5 months.

As for doomed to failure credit.

Well, he certainly already ruined his reputation contained by your eyes. Better improve on that one first.

As for he own to pay his debt or not.

If he didn't cram to pay immediately, he can't learn to be responsible.
I don't know anything something like credit and credit cards, because my parents were a fim believer that they be bad report, Why pay someone to use your own money. I guess you never skilled your son that lesson. Anywho, I would tell him that if he thought he be old adequate for one, then he's feeble enough to wage it off.
As far as I know, and surrounded by my state, your son committed fraud. That is where I live. I would contact an attorney if I be in this situation as you do not want to alert the company that he lied to them surrounded by case it is fraud. Most attorneys will give free consultation, at least devout ones will.
In a fair world, both your son and the credit card company hold some responsibility, but deplorably responsibility is not liability in the eyes of the directive.
Good luck mom, I hope this helps!

When can you remove items from your credit report?

Question:
I have hear that after 7 years, items can be removed from your credit report.. is it 7 years since the account be opened, 7 years since any stir on the account, or 7 years since the side was closed? Also, what do I want to do to remove these items? Thanks!

Answer:
You personally cannot remove anything from your credit report, it have to be done by the international credit agency. If there is something you choice to have removed after you must apply to them and they will consult the company that issued the default and they prefer if the debt may follow you or to let it be in motion. In Australia it is Baycorp Advantage that hold credit ratings.
You're right, 7 years.
yes it is 7 years but you cannot remove it yourself.
the only opening that you can get something removed, is if you directory a claim saying that it is an error. They will check it out. if it is, they help yourself to it off, if its not, its in that for at least 7 yrs from the later activity or closing.
Some items are automatically removed after seven years, others after 10 years. This is from the final posting to that account.

You cannot remove the items. The creditor can hold them removed at any time.
Any negative items should automatically drop past its sell-by date from your reports after 7 1/2 years. If they don't, you can notify the credit bureau to correct it.

Items added to your report after Dec. 29th, 1997:

The 7-year period shall switch on, with any delinquent sketch that is placed for collection (internally or by referral to a third get-together, whichever is earlier), charged to profit and loss, or subjected to any similar action, upon the expiration of the 180-day term beginning on the date of the commencement of the delinquency which at once preceded the collection activity, charge to profit and loss, or similar handling.

Example: If you miss a payment contained by January and never bring the account current, the 7 yrs starts surrounded by July.

P.S.- Studly, you do give out some right advice. And yes, I can be wrong, but this time I'm not. I've read the commission junk mail and the other evidence out there.

"Section 623(a)(5) requires a creditor that reports a chargeoff to a CRA to notify the agency (within 90 days of reporting the account) of "the month and year of the commencement of the delinquency that at once preceded" the chargeoff. Section 605(a)(4) provides that the credit bureau may report the chargeoff for seven years. Section 605(c)(1) provides that seven year period begin 180 days from that date. In the scenario your reported, it is our view that the delinquency that lead to the charge-off "commenced" in January 1997, the month the first pay was missed. Thus, to be exact the month and year that the creditor must report to the CRA, and that the CRA must use to calculate the time interval dictated by Section 605.

The Committee bill specifies that the seven-year period near respect to information concerning a delinquent account charged to profit and loss . . . may set off no more than 180 days after the commencement of the delinquency immediately preceding the ... action" (Johnson Commission Paper)

I could citation quotes from Amason and Kosmerl but they pretty much state the same article.

You miss a payment, the delinquency have "commenced" prior to charge off or collection hustle and bustle, this date must be used to calculate the reporting spell. The 7 years starts 180-days after the delinquency.
Oh my.why don't these people research their answers? Another shipment of wrong ones!

gerrygollw, I'll point right at your answer since you claim to work in this industry and you unquestionably should know the answer! What's your excuse? Just another reminder that just because nation here on Yahoo claim to be professionals, many times they merely don't have a clue.

OK, once again, everyone interested your books to the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Section 605(c)(1)... See link below.

It terribly clearly states that NEGATIVE credit items must be deleted from your report after 7 years, commencement on the date of the delinquency.

Celeste, you need to whip a look at the second link tabled below. In 2003 Congress passed the "Fair and Accurate Credit Reporting Act" and did some changes to the FDCA. Part of those change were conflicting within regards to the "180 day" reporting bit, and the FTC Commissioners posted an opinion quality newspaper to clear that up. In it, they affirm that the intent of Congress was that the 7 year reporting length begins on the date of the delinquency...PERIOD!

gerrygollw, you read it too! It's NOT the date of the later posting!

OK, so now that I've taken everyone out to the woodshed, what do you do something like these items that are being scheduled?

Normally these items are supposed to be automatically deleted. But lots times, the creditors list the incorrect date, and the report is staying on longer next it should.

You simply send a dispute notification to both the creditor and the credit bureau and demand that the register be deleted. If it's not, you can sue them within small claims court.

I found a great site that has a "flowchart" of what you necessitate to do to dispute these entries. Hope you find it useful.

I had a high-speed look but there be a number of possible match.

If the firm is regulated, and is covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service, then you should not entail to take the event to court.

Write to Wentworth setting out the background to your complaint including the circumstances and why you're dissatisfied, and what you would close to them to do to put the matter right (presumably repayment the lb44.99).

If a firm is regulated, they have a maximum of 8 weeks to respond to your complaint, and must write to you after 4 weeks to recount you how their investigation into your complaint is going.

If they are unable to provide you near a satisfactory response, or unqualified to respond within 8 weeks, you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (www.financial-ombudsman.org) free of charge. You should be aware that referring a complaint to the FOS costs the firm lb360, so it is usually contained by their best interests to resolve your complaint informally before it reach the FOS. That said, if the firm believes it is in the right, they are unlikely to concede on point of principle.

If you hold any further difficulties please post more information and I'll try to help. Good luck!
if you signed something, or they enjoy something in writing stating they hand over you back a portion of the money if they backfire to find you a broker after a certain length of time then yesyou can sue.

You can dispute outmoded items on your credit report.
If it's been 7 years since you second paid anything, don't do it presently.

In expressions of a credit gain, is it better to...?

Question:
Pay DOWN one high symmetry credit card or pay OFF a few smaller impartial ones. For example, lets enunciate I have one CC next to a balance of 5000 and 4 others next to a $500 balance. If I enjoy $2000 should I completely pay sour the 4 or bring the $5000 one to a $3000 balance. Thanks!!

Answer:
Pay the smaller cards sour first and then work on the larger one using power settle up method. Then close three of the four cards you paid rotten and be sure that they note when you close the cards that they are closed at the request of the customer. You will own reduced your ability to jack up your revolving debt the the edges on the three cards that you closed out and paid sour and that will also help your credit ranking. Your debt to income ratio is only one slice of your credit score, so the outstanding symmetry will be the same regardless of where on earth you apply the money and will not effect your ratio either means of access. Your ability to turn further in debt (available credit) on depart cards will effect your score as in good health.
You should pay them rotten before interest accrue, if possible. Otherwise, trademark a little bit more than the minimum monthly payments... Don't apply for more credit cards, though. It hurts your rack up.
They don't like your be a foil for to be more then partially of your credit on the card. So if your credit limit on the card that you own 5000 on is below 10000, then remuneration majority of what you have to that card and after split up the rest between the 3 paying down the one with the chief interest rate with the most money.
You shouldn't expect a substantial difference any way you do it. The greatest win increase would be to pay bad those balances that are the ultimate compared with your credit stricture. This "credit utilization rate" can impact your score surrounded by a negative demeanour if you are using too much of your available credit.

A good rule of thumb is to engineer sure that all balance are below 30% of the credit limits. This will furnish you maximum benefit.

Another thing to consider is that even though the direct credit impact may not be as big, paying off the small ones will do away with your liability to those creditors entirely. It feels honest when you pay one sour.
Sorry, but Suther is completely wrong on this! & others are not answering the question. You are asking give or take a few how it AFFECTS your credit, not how to pay it rotten faster.

If you pay bad your cards & close them out, the bureaus will not consider them part of your credit any longer. It will in actual fact HURT your credit to do that. If you decide to recompense the 4 off, do so but leave your job them open. B/c your available vs. used credit ratio will step down.
Ex: just for argument sake, since you did not say-so, we will assume the 5 cards are at the max ($5000 + 500 + 500 + 500 + 500 = $7000 intotal debt) your available credit is $0 or 100% debt ratio. Your rating goes down b/c they prospect you as being at your cut back w/ no breathing room (& that spells trouble). You pay stale the 4 cards & your available is $2000 & you leave them friendly. This gives you a ratio of 29% (2000free space/7000 possible available=.29). this is still not the great scenario, but look what happens if you close the cards... you are stern to 100% maxed out!

Like someone else said, pay the ones or one that will capture you below the 50% mark of the credit hold back, then spread the rest, if any.
It depends on what the credit restrictions are on each card. If the ones that enjoy a $500.00 balance enjoy a $2000.00 limit, you are singular using 1/4 of the total. That will improve your gain. If any of them are close to their limits, that hurts your win.
As to which one/s to pay bad, the ones with the great interest rates. This will not affect your score, it will solely save you money.
Scores are judge by credit limit - credit set off ratios per details and as a whole portfolio. The best course of exploit will depend on what the limit is on respectively of these cards. Exact score improvements are impracticable but their are tools available to those in the mortgage industry that allow them to take home very close determinations on what mark improvements would be.

Here is some additional info. Hope this help.
whatever you do - don't close acct's w/ zilch balances. You involve to have a athletic ratio between used credit & available creditif you close acct's, then that credit is gone and you ratio skyrockets.lately cut them up and/or lower the available credit to you in small increments.
