Does paying stale and closing a column of credit facilitate your credit evaluation more than paying it past its sell-by date alone?
Question:
I paid bad a credit card today, but the customer service rep. I spoke to told me it wouldn't make a difference if I closed my strip of credit, that paying it off is what help credit, not closing lines of credit. Is that true? I would think have as few lines of credit open as possible would be to my benefit?
Answer:
Two impressive parts of your credit score are credit history, and debt to credit ratio, so if the symmetry is paid stale, it is usually not a good impression to close the account. The length of time you've have this card will show to someone checking your credit report, and if it adds to the time procession, thats better for you.
The debt to credit ratio is the big thing, read aloud you have 4 credit cards next to $1000 limits on respectively. Even if the other 3 were maxed out, you'd still own $3000 debt to $4000 credit ratio, (or 75%) which looks a lot better consequently $3000 debt to $3000 credit ratio or (100%). I would keep the side open, and store the card surrounded by a safe, but not smoothly accessible spot.
It is true. It is better to have 2 to 4 credit cards unfold even if you are not using them. Now if you have more than 5 credit cards than you should progress ahead and close it.
I did not receive the first statement and immediately I hold a different APR...?
Question:
I just did a set off transfer into a tentative citi card. I did not receive the first statement, so I got a second one (for me the first one) charging me an extra 40 dollars for deferred payment and very soon my 0% APR has become a 12% APR. I do not keeping paying the late pay fee, but is at hand any way to maintain my 0% APR taking into account that I NEVER received the first statement? I do not even own the credit card, so I could not even log into the internet because I did not have my credit card number or confirmation code...
Answer:
Call the customer service phone number on the back of the card. Tell them what happen. They may or may not help you out.
It's really up to them to establish. You can't force them to change the rate wager on. They are following the rules you both agreed to.
p.s. I would be nice about your request. You're contained by no position to be demanding.
unfortunately, it is your responsibility to get payments whether or not the US Postal Service delivers your billing statement or not...remember this go or anything, rent, phone bill, gas bill, electric bill, etc.
Give customer service a call and explain the situation. The credit card company is contained by the business of keeping customer, not allienating them. Be nice and request that they reverse the late allowance and financing charges as well as returning the APR backbone to the promotional rate of 0%. The 12% APR is the penalty rate because you missed a recompense. Most of the customer service reps have the authority to reverse one missed payment/ delayed fee. but for politely ask for a supervisor. If they unwilling always offer to close the account and verbs the balance elsewhere.
It sounds close to you waited for the harmonize transfer and might enjoy missed making a payment on your ingenious credit card.
Basically the balance verbs went through after your inventive credit card payment be due, and that caused a slowly payment which allowed Citibank to make higher your 0% APR to a 12% because of the universal evasion rule.
I always engineer sure I continue making regular payments on my credit card beforehand and during the balance verbs process as it can take a while to post, and I don't want to incur any postponed fees or penalties.
I'm assuming that's what happen. Try to fight if beside Customer Service. Tell them you're going to go elsewhere unless they cause it right!

Definitely call customer service and explain. If the first rep you parley to says that they can't serve you, ask to be transferred to the "loyalty department" or "retention department." Those can be magic words that will bring you to a rep with greater authority and flexibility. If asked why, you can newly say that you're considering transferring the go together again because the 12% deal isn't helping you at adjectives.
I enjoy a poor credit chalk up and want give a hand?
Question:
I have a bleak credit score because my kid was sick and they billed me and not my insurance other afterwards that I have little bills I didnt money from when I was 18. I basically bought a car ( dignified intrest) and Im married. I got my highly first visa ( in great standing) I enjoy been going through respectively month paying off these small bills: 65$, 140$ etc. I own 22 active accounts counting the medical which is in the order of 11 of those account and 3 are fraud cell phones I never have. How many points do my credit stir up from each rewarded derogotory bill is marked compensated? am I wasting my time and my husband is deployed i told him to run his credit so I can pay his past its sell-by date too How long will it take for us to be put money on in business next to good credit? We are within horrible shape and need some credit support anything helps
Answer:
Forget what everyone else say and listen to this advice. First of adjectives, you said your husband is deployed. If he is on active duty as a contestant of the United States Armed Forces than you can check mate your husband's creditors and yours if the bills are joint by invoking the SOLDIERS AND SAILORS refief work. This is a federal law that will stop creditors from taking deed (like repos, foreclosures, collections) while your husband is on active duty.
So instantly tell adjectives of them in writing this. Then receive a budget and pay your bills from that including positive 10 percent of your income.
Good Luck
Check out this site for more info about FICO score and building your credit:
http://www.creditresponsibility.com/...
first thing you should do is acquire a copy of your husbands deployment papers and call every credit card you own and fax them a copy of orders and they will grant you a lower interest rate then what you are already getting. its a big difference! my husband is deployed and we enjoy saved alot from this!!
for the fraud cell phones...contact the credit report agency and database fraud charges..they will investigate and if they are not yours they will take them rotten the credit report...you can also file fraud charges on procession through the reporting credit agency.
if you have bills on your credit report that should enjoy been billed to your insurance call upon them and tell them hold the insurance pay them and afterwards call the number on the credit report explain that this be insurance and not you and have them convey the paper work to the credit agency and own it removed from your credit record
i have 11 medical bills removed from my credit report and none of them were mine! it take about 2 months to hold this done from start to finish!

1st/2nd mortgage loans; paying past its sell-by date lately one?
Question:
i wanted to recompense off with the sole purpose the 2nd mort (home line of credit) and my friend told me that both loans gotta be compensated at a same time or something gets violated etc. i don't return with it. i wanted to remuneration off 2nd loan and refinance next to 1st (big) loan to match my current utility :(
he said i should put down the money to refinance etc. i'm confused now. what's the operate...
Answer:
Your friend doesn't know what he's talking going on for. You can pay sour the second anytime you want. I've never seen a second lien beside a prepayment penalty--they're illegal surrounded by most states. You don't necessarily need to put money down to refinance, but at hand will be costs involved (closing costs). Those are usually rolled into the new loan. Usually the singular out-of-pocket expense for you is the appraisal--about $325.
Rick
http://www.fairwaymortgagelending.com...
The deal is that your friend is simply partially right. You cannot pay envelope off your first while you enjoy a second. That would make your second, your first fith oblogations that they never comitted to. Such as whom is going to do the escowel for taxes and INS?
You can salary off the second loan lacking creating any problems with the first mortgage.
But if you refinance the first loan, that loan will be repaid near the money you borrow with the first loan. Put another course, if you are refinancing the first loan, both loans have to be repaid.
If you are refinancing, why don't you of late refinance the entire debt and pay them both past its sell-by date in the refinance? Some equity lines or mortgages own prepayment penalties, conceivably that is what your friend is referring to. A refinance would be considered a prepayment because essentially you are paying past its sell-by date that entire loan and getting a brand new loan.
Do retail stores scan your credit?
Question:
I recently get an offer that I be preapproved for a Target C.C. I have other paid beside a C.C. It was suprising to carry that offer.
Answer:
A store can instantly approve when you try to win a credit card. They are not all that tough nearly it because they dont give you precincts that ussualy that high. Im not sure how they do it, but they can intantly verbs your credit and give a yes or no inwardly seconds. I would conjecture that anyone with even ok credit will get hold of approved.
Retail stores already know that you pay your bills because they purchase credit bureau list. When you apply, they simply run your credit and their computer auto approves it in 90+ percent of the cases.
I hold used this several times because with most offer after you are approved and in some cases even if you are turned down, you go and get an additional discount on anything you are purchaseing that day. I save a ton on drapes for my home using this with J.C. Pennys. Between my wife and I both applying and the sale that were going on at the time we save over 70% off of the retail prices.
Should I tag on my wife to my credit cards to amend her credit?
Question:
My wife has poor credit (below 500), I enjoy OK credit that is doing very well (625+). We're both on the right track, and both of our debt is nearly paid past its sell-by date. I have several cards, she have none, although recently have been getting some typical preapproved offer for non-secured cards. To jump start her retrieval, should I add her to my cards? Will that raise here credit? Will it harm mine?
Answer:
Spif's right on that. By tally her definitely can hurdle start her credit, without interview. But I what I would do to protect myself is add her as an authorized user, but she doesn't grasp a card. It would be for reporting purposes only. Another course to jumpstart her credit so that she won't have to use any of the cards that you added her as an authorized user, start on up a secured credit card for her. I've seen some of the secured cards (like Bank of America & Wells Fargo) are in reality better than some of the unsecured card offers that are out near. Most deposits require a minimum of $300, me I would open one up near $500 and add to the deposit to boost the curb. After about a year of ideal payment history, the deposit would be refund and the card would be unsecured with a credit dash that would be more than what it would've been have she applied for a secured card outright. It's important to monitor how the card is maintain with the utmost discipline. This secured card since surrounded by her name should be the primary credit card that she's using. I know the subsequent thing I'm getting prepared to say may be crazy, but it's the truth. You're going to own to babysit her with that card. I can't stress how prominent it is. At one point she didn't care around her credit. If you're going to take that step contained by adding her to your credit cards to boost her credit, consequently there's no reason why you shouldn't appropriate the extra step to show her the right way how to recreate and maintain it. Once you've shown her how you've manage to get where on earth you are, then she should own a better understanding of what you're trying to accomplish beside your credit.
she might lower yours
if you know your marriage is going to closing and you are sure you are willing to pocket the risk..then dance for it. my husband added me so now we enjoy a joint report and it has help improve my credit since i am presently also responsible for the payments..so having them compensated all the time have improved my mark with out me have to open a clean account and this course we have matching amount of credit cards that we have be fine paying off beforeadd her to yours and dont interested a new description it is just going to formulate more debit in the long run
I would not affix your wife to your accounts-- why does she have unpromising credit? Can she be trusted not to bring yours down further after you have worked tough to rebuild? She should gain 1 credit card, pay past its sell-by date the entire balance every month and do not apply for spare credit. Each time her credit is looked at by potential lenders her score would be hit--- it take a while to repair the credit, but I wouldn't risk mine for anyone. Her score will budge up in time. Good Luck!
I be in the exact same position several years ago and I added my wife to adjectives of my credit cards. Her score better overnight due to the good reward history that showed up on her credit.
The only down side of this is if you two split up similar to my ex-wife and I did several years later. She have run up all of the balance on my cards with valise advances and buying stuff for her kids minus me knowing it. We ended up getting a divorce and file chapter 7 bankruptcy.
If you are sure that your wedding ceremony is sound and you trust your wife? Go for it.

Question:
Answer:
850
300...850
In what seance u want to know the highest possibility. The credit rating is a height that how timely one discharge its credit liabilities. Therefore if one is supreme that it may be 100%. In general it is measured by awarding stars and plus sign. the single star indicating low credit rating than *+ the ** than**+and so on.
An automotive website provides an estimate your giving based upon one's credit ranking...it is listed below. It shows what a difference in that is in the interest charge and thus pay-out scale. Excerpt below:
Excellent
I enjoy a long, established credit history. FICO Score above 730.
Very Good
I use my credit wisely and never miss a payoff. FICO Score 690 - 729.
Good
My credit is good but I do own a few late payments. FICO Score 650 - 689.
Fair
I should hold paid closer attention to my credit and rewarded my bills on time. FICO Score 620 - 649.
Poor/No Credit
I own credit problems OR I don't have a credit history. FICO Score below 619.
What you requirement to know: there are frequent different sellers of credit score and they sell you lots different score products and they adjectives have their own selection.
The ones most lenders (especially mortgage lenders) rely on is Classic FICO, and these are the ONLY scores you should buy and they are available with the sole purpose at http://www.myfico.com , or you can get your Equifax FICO rack up from http://www.equifax.com .
IF THEY DON'T SAY FICO, THEY ARE NOT FICO SCORES. We call them FAKO score.
With that in mind...
FICO score are 850 maximum. I have never see an 850 FICO Classic score from anyone. I hold had an 835 FICO Experian gain (as of last April) and do know some relatives who have have higher than that, but never a impeccable 850.
How soon does it whip to establish up to date credit?
Question:
I just recieved my first Visa credit card. I made a small purchase newly to establish good pocket money history. How soon does your credit score drop!? I want to get a fresh credit card with more curb and better interest rate! Thanks for your help.
Answer:
It take usually up to a year for your credit to actually develop. The path that you're doing it with your Visa card is exactly how you want to do it: product small purchases that you can pay rotten in full in good time, every month.
Another thing that you can do if you're paying monthly payments similar to rent, insurance, utilities, etc, that doesn't show up on your credit is to get those payments reported by enrol in this credit reporting agency call PRBC. You're able to enjoy past payments verified and reported as powerfully as current and future payments reported by enrol in their billpay service. This is an excellent means of access to build up credit even when you haven't had credit surrounded by the past.
You asked a great interrogate. Use your credit card every month and pay it sour for about 6-8 months. Then try to apply for another credit card consequently. Go for one that sent you an advertising surrounded by the mail, (better providence of getting approved because they have prescreened your credit.) Technically you enjoy a score after 1 credit reporting but the rack up is weak because you don't enjoy many tradelines and credit history. I am in a minute 21 years old and I enjoy 5 credit cards with going on for 35,000 total credit limit and I also get a 30,000 auto loan with a pretty well brought-up rate about 10 months ago. You can attain to my level near time and good credit history lately as quick. I applied for my first credit card the hours of daylight I turned 18.
I've got the answer.
Email me caardvark@hotmail.com
Quickest and best solution. I did it myself.

To find a 0% credit card quicker, start by searching online. There are innumerable websites that business exclusively in aiding applicants check out for the right credit cards.
To start your search, it is better to budge to general credit card websites that hold an option of penetrating through various credit card deal. Here you have a golden fate of finding a 0% credit card deal that match your requirements. Look carefully at the certainty whether the selected credit card is 0% or not, but also find out the duration of this 0% time of year, whether the 0% covers purchases, balance transfers or both, and the rate of interest applicable once the 0% time is over.
But nowadays 0% credit card deal are getting bit more convoluted. You can get them glibly, but now most of them include buried charges that counter the benefit of 0% credit card.
how long does this stay on your credit report?
Question:
If you closed a credit card account, rewarded in full, within good standing, how long to it stay on your report? What more or less the same operation with a saloon loan?
Answer:
Maybe you can try below website to get the information. It's give or take a few credit inquiries on credit report articles for your second opinion
7 years is a standard reporting spell
10 years
since the account is within good standing, it will stay on your credit report.
It depends what you stingy. If you pay sour a credit card, your credit score will almost instantly progress up. How much it goes can depend on alot of factor. Reducing debt and closing open accounts will other improve your credit evaluation. So how long it stays on your credit report really will not matter to anyone looking at it.
All installment and revolving accounts that are compensated off stay on your credit for 10-years from the date that the accounts be closed.
I no longer feel desperate about degrading credit checks and I never get decline for credit. What I did was I go to http://www.creditreportzone.info... and entered my info and get my credit report restored. Try it out, you won't be dissapointed.
10 years for accounts in suitable standing that are closed. Doesn't matter if it's a saloon loan or a credit card. This goes for adjectives installment and revolving accounts.

If a creditor go more than a year short sending a bill, do you still hold to compensate?
Question:
My daughter's house burned down in Feb. 06 and she lost everything, including copies of bills due. When she call the cell phone company, they said they could not locate her account contained by their system, by name, cell number, or SS#. Now, 13 months latter, she just received a bill from the company beside late fees and a constraint for immediate allowance. They also gave no credit for the $125.00 deposit she give when opening the details. Should she pay this or dispute it? (She lives surrounded by New York State if anyone has any state-specific info.)
Answer:
yes. Statue of limitations won't apply; (6 years within NY) and if she knew she have a debit, it is to some extent her responsibility to make sure the debiter is properly notify of the situation
she should dispute it mainly because when she phoned they said that they couldn't find any transcript of her account, and they never sent her any bill untill that one, unsophisticatedly it should be a clean covering,..Hopefully.
She still has to settle up, regardless. However get a copy of the agreement from them. There may be language and conditions that deem a plausable termination of the service, such as yours.
If a problem still occurs, receive the local news to brag just about it, usually the company will back down to avoid desperate publicity.
First and foremost take a breath. Call customer service and notify them exactly what happened. Then ask for give support to in resolving the business. If you get the run around, ask for the customer service planner and repeat your issue. Do not yell or capture upset. If the manager does not gross you feel listen to, ask for their boss. This is the best way surrounded by the world to resolve 90% of consumer problems, and it works. Good luck.
So sorry to hear that. In my opinion tho, knowing she have an outstanding bill, she should have call back, or ask to speak to a supervisor. Now she may completely well enjoy to pay unpunctually fees, unless she knows this personality who told her that infor and unless the conversation was record. I have literary thru many trial and tribulations, to preserve a log of everyone I talk to contained by the business world and dates and times, so zilch comes back to bite me. It sucks, I know. But ask a attorney, some give breakneck free advice over the phone.
I'm sorry to hear more or less your daughter's loss, but she obviously call the company because she knew she probably have balances do...
I don't own state specific info for you, but I know they can follow you around with balance owed... they probably did send bills, but since the house be gone, everything would have be returned to the company...now the collection agency is finally catching up to your daughter...
my best proposal is in the adjectives, when you know you have a cellphone...you also know you enjoy balances...its a devout idea to not permit it go clich¨¦ to yourself "well, they can't find my report, so I don't have to remuneration..." trust me, large companies resembling that will always capture up to you...
you can wait seven years for it to come stale of her credit...
and about the deposit, request a complete audit of adjectives transactions that took place on the account...usually the companies can travel back something like five to seven years...
I would call the customer service number on the bill and ask to speak to a negotiator. or demand to speak to a principal, If you don't get anywhere here, keep on asking to chitchat to their supervisor. Explain what happened and that your daughter have no copies of her bills, etc and that no bills have be received since the fire.
Tell them if they remove all penalities and past due fees that you are willing to earnings in full at that moment and hold them send you a copy of everything especially a statement showing the zero-ed out set off.
I would just preserve doing this over and over again till you get someone to be exact higher up and is feeling like to talk to you.
If they distribute it to a collections firm then dispute beside a letter and adjectives that.
By the way, contained by our area, one of the big cell phone providers be CellularOne. Well they converted over most areas to a nice new system beside new tale numbers and guess what, the rural areas did not get changed over so whenever you call Customer Service they would tell us that they could not find our article numbers. Then they would have to find someone who know how to get into the "aged mainframe system" and retrieve my account. It be a MESS. So the minute my contract expired we dropped them and went to a up to date company.
So this " not finding your account number" is zilch new. It happen to me with CellularOne while I have a phone contract with them and we be using the phones.
I applied for a JC Penney card accidentally online, but consequently realize I already have that individual card...?
Question:
I applied for a JC Penney card accidentally online, but then realize I already had that out of the ordinary card, but the thing is is my credit is of poorer quality it was when I signed up originally and I'm SURE I won't bring back approved, will this affect my original card/accout? In other words, will my denial for the second card produce my original story to be cancelled due to current credit issues?
Answer:
Very unlikely. If you are declined, you will probably only just get a discern stating you were decline either due to poor credit ranking or because you already have an justification with them, I don`t know both reasons.
You will most feasible be denied, however, useually a credit card isn't cancelled because the more you ignore rectify debts, the more debt incurs and therefore the company make even more money or stands to in the long run, though your card could be siezed if you be to try and use it.

Recovering Bank Charges From Royal Bank of Scotland?
Question:
Has any1 recovered bank charges from RBS? How did u move about about it? What be outcome? Any Speedy Tips??
Answer:
Some company's offer 3 refund as a gesture of goodwill. telephone them up and appologise for going over drawn and ask them if it is possible to have these charges refund as a gesture of goodwill, if they vote only one, speak thank you and call final another time for the next one and jump throught the same process again. If they influence no straight away say ok later could you please explain to me and have this confirmed surrounded by writing how the amount taken from my account have been used, ask for exact info as it is against the law to form a profit from charges and banks are with the sole purpose allowed to take an amount to cover their charges, not a penny more! Get your money rear legs, be firm and state the law to them and they will furnish it back to you straight away, but bring the nice approach first.
Ive had loads of charges refund from my bank and very soon im starting on my credit cards! lol
Ha ha ha, forget speed mate its just taken the best division of three years to get my own money rear legs from them after they overcharged my account.
Keep attacking though, I do believe I own been unlucky within this case, bloody trick though, sigh.
Nah just preserve contesting them.
my brother told me about this concluding night (getting a discount ) so found this page today
http://www.bankcharges.info/
free service run by Daily mail...www.this is money
Don't know in the order of RBS specifically - but there have been greatly of media coverage of tardy suggesting that bank charges are zilch short of daylight robbery!
The Money Programme on the BBC has deeply to say on the concern as has the (hopefully useful) connect I've pasted.
I have a lot of guard charges and I claimed from the bank of Scotland it took them the most part of a set of the year and they said no they would not refund the charges but I keypad on to them and get about partly of the charges back lb1200.93so maintain on to them and go to citizens warning they would help they help me
I have other got my charges hindmost from the RBS the next time. I would ring them up and ask being particularly firm. The writer Lucy has the right approach. Follow her warning and be persistent and they will provide in.
I own stopped banking beside the RBS because of their incompetence.
If you go to the site below (which is free to use), you`ll find complete guides to the process of claiming your sandbank charges back, near detailed guides to each step, and template packages you can add your details to and convey to the bank.
DON'T phone the dune, as it can actually difficulty things. Although it may seem quicker, its straightforward for them to say they are going to do something, and later not bother, and you have no comeback as you own no proof.
If you write to the bank, convey it recorded transport, and you know (and have proof) that the guard has received it, and when they received it. The together process relies on deadlines, so this is noteworthy.
A rough time scale is:
1) Write to the ridge asking for a copy of your charges for the last 6 years using the Data Protection Act - The mound has 40 days to reply.
2) Write a memorandum to bank attaching a agenda (list) of charges and asking for them back. The hill has 14 days to respond.
3) Write the sandbank a Letter before Action giving them one closing chance to reimbursement your charges before you steal them to court. The bank have 14 days to respond.
4) Take the bank to court. The claim is served on the sandbank 5 days after being lodged near the court (which you can do online using the Money Claim website). The bank own 14 days to respond, if they don't you win by default. If the guard do respond, they then enjoy another 14 days to submit a defence. If they don't you win by defaulting. If they do, they won't turn up in court, and again you win.
These deadline can't be shortened, they are the proper legal steps, and following them guarentees you will go and get your charges back.
Usually the bank settle before you lodge a claim contained by court, but this is happening smaller quantity now, due to the certainty they have so much work to do next to people claiming their charges spinal column.
