Settle for Deletion Letter or Process.?
Question:
I had a commentary to go into collections beside columbia house music. I would like to reward or settle this account and own it deleted. Is here a letter or process out in attendance somewhere that gives information on how to word or settle this thing. Its for $81.00 and I would like to know the best approach to negotiate and settle this account beside a deletion from my credit reports
Eddie.
Answer:
I am a Collection Agent and I would never sign ANYTHING from a "debtor". I got my own reminder, I write it sign it and send it over acknowledge that I agree on a deletion or settlement.
Call the bill collector and ask for a settlement. Than when you cut the deal report to them that you will only reimburse it if they give you a deletion. If they agree than ask for a message confirming the settlement and deletion. They will send one to you that they own typed and signed on their letterhead.
Most likely they will utter you can settle the account and we will step away but if you want a deletion you have to reward it in full.
I would do what it take to get the deletion.
Do not supply them any money untill you get a reminder confirming your agreement.
Good luck.
You have your answer.
What form of salary to collection agencies?
Question:
hi, i owe about $150 to a collection agency, it's a valid debt and i'm merely not sure if i should pay by credit card, check, postal money establish? Any advice on whether i should convey it cerified return receipt or settle up w/credit card over the phone. I'm leary about these collection agancies but as i mentioned the debt is valid and i want to reward but I want to do it "safely" . any advice would be appreciated. Thanks to adjectives.
Answer:
I would either dispatch them a check or money order. You'll hold your voided check or receipt from your money direct as proof of mailing recompense. I wouldn't waste your money to certify the memorandum. Believe me, they want to cash your check.
any road would do, but if you are worry more or less them getting your info. use a cashiers check. or money order.
Personal check, money charge or cashiers check will be fine. This way you will own a paper trail showing you compensated the debt.
I would not use a credit card.
I dont understand why you would be leary? You are infact the one that owes them the money, not they to you.
If in attendance is anyone to be leary I think it would be the collection agency and the creditor.
People hold the impression that a collection agency will rip you stale. Guess what? They wont. These are all rumors.
The just thing they will come after is what you owe them or their clients.
Your chitchat about fraud here!
Collection Agencies generate millions of dollars a year. You come up with $150.00 or whatever amount of money available surrounded by your bank sketch or available credit on your credit card is worth them getting in trouble over or possibly losing their license?
Do you regard that a collection agent who is easily making over 100k a year at the lowest will rip you off some chump conversion and lose their job?
I dont dream up so.
By the way...they already enjoy all your information. They enjoy all your credit card numbers from your credit report and your bank information from previous payment you made to the innovative creditor. They know where you live, your phone number, where on earth you work, your birthday and your SSN#.
Obviously they havent done anything because if they were going to than you would hold already known nearly it.
So heres my question to you...Why are bill collectors and collection agencies such horrible general public or entities?
Because they enforce the payment of bills relatives created for themselves and try and cheat creditors, banks or companies out of.
So who is the tangible cheater here?
If there be no collection agencies or agents..banks would be skint and you wouldnt have a place to keep hold of your money and write checks out of, creditors would go penniless and you wouldnt have emergency credit cards, folks would walk around stealing and ripping eachother rotten left and right.
Pay the Agent next to whatever you want to earnings them with. They are not going to do anything wrong near your information. They will charge the amount you tell them to charge and they will change the check for the amount you wrote it for or gave it to them for over the phone.
Well, although you may presume that my insinuation was childish and silly...what did you regard your insinuation was of a collection agency and how you should be leary of collection agents?
Infact citizens like you startle people from collection agents...population end up hiring credit manager because they are afraid of bill collectrs and those credit managers crumple their credit and charges them for it.
Additionally...I did not mean to insult you. I be going to to show you a picture of the whole scenario and engender you see both sides. But of course you automatically abhor because there travel one of them bill collectors that you are leary of right?
Good Luck.
Credit precision debt - Pay surrounded by Full or Settle?
Question:
I understand that if settling -- I will receive a 1099c from the IRS to income 40% of the difference if I settle but is there any other benefit in respect to my credit reporting if I repay in full instead? Will it come sour my report sooner or do Lenders look more favorably on this? Does it make a difference at adjectives?
Answer:
You will receive a 1099c from the IRS to pay 40% of the difference?
Na, you wont. The creditor or collection agency fairly take their write past its sell-by date for their loss.
You will not be 1099ed...trust me.
Ok so heres the deal....
If you compensate in full...and the commentary was surrounded by collections it will say collection vindication paid surrounded by full. If its not in collections...it will simply say salaried in full and still show where on earth you messed up on your payments etc.
If you settle in full...it will influence collection account settled within full...if its not a collection account it will say-so account settled within full by original creditor.
Now here is the piece...if you settle...it doesnt look so great but its not a big deal. The same creditor may or may not do business next to you again. Some do some dont. NO BIG DEAL.
How long will it be on your credit report? 7 years from the date of your last reimbursement...either salaried in full or settled. No difference.
But...if you are slick...you will telephone them up, give them a story in the order of why you cant pay surrounded by full and cut a deal next to the bill collector that once they received said funds...they will give you a "deletion" on your credit report. This money they will poof be gone and there will be no history of the this creditor on your credit report. They may or may not move about for it. Some will pay ok if you want a deletion clear it in full than you will go and get one...than do just that.
But get sure you get the business in writing if not they will come back an screw you for the rest of the $$$ or they wont make a contribution you a deletion.
Good Luck
I think u should settle up in full

Anyone any suggestion on how to budget?
Question:
Getting really skint and not sure how to go give or take a few saving money, any design
Answer:
It can be difficult, but it is the most liberating experience when you know where you're money is going. You do it once and it become very comfortable after that.
Just make a inventory of all the money you hold coming in. If you enjoy to estimate then sort sure it is less than you would expect. This would include, wages, tabloid round, pocket money, (gifts maybe).
And make a similar enumerate of all your expenses. If you own to estimate make sure it is more than you would expect. This would include things resembling, bills, taxes, rates, insurance, tv license, grocery shopping, petrol, fares, etc.
Then embezzle the total outgoings away from the total incomes. The final figure would your disposable income. This amount can vary from time to time, depending on the time of year. You can next work out how much you want to spend or save.
I join 'savings' into my outgoings. This usually means that my disposable income is smaller number but at least I'm sure of have some money for a rainy sunshine. I would budget about 10% of my total income as hoard.
Best of luck.
(1) Write a list of adjectives your monthly outgoings and total that up.
(2) Then subtract the total outgoings from your monthly income (after tax) and see what you have gone.
(3) Whatever amount remains is how much you can budget. You could either pick up that amount or spend it!
Even to save as little as lb10 or lb20 a month is well-mannered!!
1. Take lunch from home, don't buy out
2. Seek out cheap places to drink (boring and sad, I agree, but can set free a fortune)
3. Do not use credit!! If you don't have the money, you can't hold it!
4. Direct debit or manually transfer money across into a funds account on income day.
5. DVDs fairly than movies, and if you can borrow DVDs from mates at work, even better
6. Do not buy the Fourth Estate, books or magazines - the media can be gotten fo free, magazines are in general rubbish (and show you a lot of cast-offs you can't afford anyway) and books are free to borrow from the library
7. Do a weekly shop - and don't return to the supermarket for the rest of the week. It's crazy how "just a pint of milk" can turn into flowers, chocolate, wine, magazine...(or is it just me?!?!)
I'm broke at the moment. Pay year is in two and a partly weeks and I'm scrimping - but I always collect money at the beginning of the month and don't touch it, no concern how desperate I get. I generally only want it for cast-offs anyway! :o)
Good luck!
I budget using my computer but a calculator and notebook would do. I keep a regular running total check of my total dosh in foot and bank be a foil for and every day I compare it next to the same date end month. As long as the figure is positive I am in your favour a bit. When it is negative my nest egg are going down.
My advice in the region of getting the most out of your money every month is to work as if no borrowing is available to you. Save for things except for interest free monthly repayments on essential large items such as TV and Microwave. Always clutch interest free credit if it is avaiable and if there is not a discount alternative available.
Avoid credit cards, if you call for them you can't afford them and at over 20% per year on most cards the cost is not worth it. Also avoid unauthorised overdrafts because as well as costing a fortune surrounded by interest the banks even charge you when they write to let somebody know you about it.
It is a flawless idea too to hold a regular savings rationalization paid directly from your current portrayal each month by standing demand just after your repay goes surrounded by. Being an automatic payment you should not miss the money when it go or be tempted to buy something next to it.
Try rounding up or down in your checkbook. Round up adjectives purchases (if the cost was $7.50 round up to $8.00) and round down on your deposits/paycheck (if your paycheck deposit is $815 round down to $800). Then at the close of the month balance your check book putting the extra make over into your savings vindication. Also, check with your sandbank and your employer about have $x amount deducted from your check directly into a reserves account. Even $10/check add up.
For a credit card, whats the unbeatable credit goal increase you can bring?
Question:
Answer:
Some Credit Cards have no decrease like Platinum American Expresses. My Parents have a $100,000 limit on a card subsidise in the '80's but from time to time used it.
Speaking of limits. The check for interest once you fail on a clearing changes from your introductory Rate read the find print to find out that it can dance as high as 22.5% or so NOT INCLUDING ADDTIONAL PENALTIES.
Don't spend money you don't enjoy. Credit Cards are the number one debt in this country. More than double the national debt.
Think amazingly carefully.
I haven't ever see anything in writing available for the public related to the best credit limit increase available. It is other dependent on the card holder's income, credit worthiness, and use/payment history.
No limit. But if you enjoy to ask, I doubt you qualify. I know I never will.
The Platinum Business Credit Card comes fully loaded with the following unfinished features:
* No annual fee

My husband purchased a truck surrounded by his autograph, I'm paying the make a note of how can I enjoy my cross added to the loan?
Question:
I would like to bring my credit back up, what do I enjoy to do to have my term added to the loan on the truck, since I pay the details?
Answer:
you must refi the loan. not such a good choice. catch a cc in your heading. then use it and pay packet it off every month or two.
Go within person to sort the loan payment & update them you want on the loan. If that does not work, don't pay any more until you & him can achieve down there to incorporate your name.
You can't catch your named added to this loan. The single way you could win added to the loan is to apply for a new loan and enjoy one of you as the primary and the other as the co-signer.
you would have to refinance the loan because you can not add on a name on to an existing loan.
Try to ring up the loan company. I would think that they would be adjectives to happy to enjoy a second person on the file, since they would have 2 those to sue and garnish if the memo doesn't get remunerated. They would also be able to speak about you how to refinance the loan if you had to. If you hold to do that try to get a better rate next to a different company if possible.
Cancelling credit cards..does it affect your credit rating?
Question:
i have 4 credit cards (too various i know!) - but have manage to pay them adjectives off after a spot of luck. immediately...i want to cancel 3 of them (keep 1 for emergencies) ....if i do this..will it affect my credit rating? - thank you for any answers.
Answer:
If it be me? I would cancel two of the cards. Whichever ones that enjoy the highest fees or lowest limitations and keep using the other two for everyday purchases resembling gas and groceries making sure never to go above 30% of your ceiling in any given month and clear them off surrounded by full every month before the due date.
This will ensure that you hold open accounts near good recompense history's. And since pay history make up 35% of your score, this will gross your credit score stir up.
No
yeah and keep one friendly and only use it when u really inevitability it
nope!! cancel them! fitting for you!
Yes, but not necessarily in a righteous or bad agency. Depends on if the cards are major or department store cards. Depends on how long you own had the cards, depends on your stricture on the cards.
Good to have 1 or 2 credit cards and at most minuscule 1 of them is a major (Visa, etc...)
Good to hold had a card for a long time.
Good to hold a low balance.
Bad to own too many cards or no cards.
Bad to own not had the cards for that long.
Bad to own too high of a go together or no balance.
Bad to enjoy high amounts of available credit.
sounds similar to you dont need proposal.
no
It will affect your credit rating but probably for a short period of time. Many factor go into calculating your FICO rack up. Two of those factors are how oodles accounts you have and how long they enjoy been stretch out. In general, if you own 4 credit card accounts, they're all current and you haven't have any payment problems and you close them, your credit rack up will take a bit of decline. But if you call for to do this to prevent past behavior that get you into trouble, it's still the right thing to do. You can other open more accounts following.
On the flip side, if you have too various accounts relative to your income level, the credit rating agencies (Experian, TransUnion, etc.) prospect that as a negative as resourcefully.
If you want more information, go to a site close to freecreditreport.com and read about the elements that affect your credit chalk up.
Believe it or not, yes.
Best to keep them uncap, but ifthey wantto hargeyou afee upon renewal, then nullify.
Just leave them be. If you're afraid you';ll use them and run up a debt, cut them within half and hold the halves.
If you close 3 of your cc accounts you will likely HURT your evaluation. One of the factors of you credit mark is the length of your history, closing elder accounts can hurt this. Also the more available credit you have the smaller any of your debt (balances) seem, it show self control that you have the $$ available but are competent to manage adjectives for accounts responsibly.
Keep the accounts open or your evaluation may drop. Use them occasionaly and pay them past its sell-by date immediately so that the cc companies don't drop you.
It won't affect your credit rating surrounded by any way. It's a well brought-up idea to hang down on to one of them, even if you never intend to use it, as an established line of credit is mostly seen positively by financial institutions.
Don't withdraw them, arrange to pay to full amount by direct debit when the bill is due(that approach you pay no interest).
Rotate the cards use a different one respectively month.
Also arrange to have them request the money (from your account) inside a week of you salary that route you know that there will do funds to pay the credit card bill.
If you are really smart you will use the current card for adjectives your shopping, in effect getting an interest free loan.
The credit card companies abominate it when you do that but there is zilch that they can do about it.
The other control is that your credit rating soars, you are using credit but managing it sensibly.
This little trick be taught to me by a hill manager.
Hey Kags..I'm serving 2 masters..how is this possible??
If you travel profusely u need a visa ...and a master for emergency..
tell MBNA( the masters provider) since you travel or they will cut you off automatically..and the phone phone up will be a pain surrounded by the jacksee...if u cancel .. your ratings may transport a downward swoop temp. but oh the peace of mind!!
Virgin Loan? Experiences?
Question:
Has anyone appiled or had a loan from Virgin/MBNA
How would you rate them? Experiences please.
Thanks.
Answer:
yes we hold had a virgin loan and they give us one when no one else would and the interest rate be ok too, we also paid it bad early and we didnt obtain charged an early settlement allowance like most bank do......... yeah we would recommend them, p.s we applied online too and they let you know in 24 hours.
yeah they are alright in my experience, ill-fatedly as a consumer this is the wrong time to be getting into the loan business but if you gotta do it you gotta do it.
If you can go near Egg then I would recommend them over Virgin, the customer service is really really devout!
Good luck dude ;)
What is the best road to buy a saloon if you hold a previous repossession on your credit report ?
Question:
Answer:
This is what I do for a living. There are several lenders out there that will nouns you with a repossession on your credit.
Look surrounded by yesterdays newspaper and find a buyer that advertises Special Finance and bid them. The Special Finance Manager will be able to comfort you.
Depending on how old the repo is, will determine how much money you will be required to put down and what your interest rate will be. But look for at tiniest $1,000.00 down and a high rate of interest.
Whatever you do, do not run to a buy here pay here lot over 90% of them do not report to the credit bureaus so adjectives of the payments you make do nil to re-establish your credit.
Buy here/pay here lot or a high risk lender who offer a high percentage rate. The trick is making payments in good time, and not having it again. So while you WILL be upside down within your loan, you do have the potential to reform your credit.
With CASH.
I had a voluntary repo...and I only just purchased a car along near my husband....His name have to be first and then I be a co-signer....
Okay, now if you aren't married consequently the chances are kind slim....You have to find a place that will offer you credit and then agree to you make your payments to them....Post dealer's are going to want deeply down because of the repo....That looks very desperate on a credit report....So if you can prove you are in honourable standing with creditors and you are going to put a nice sum down after you should be okay.....
you'll have to be in motion for a loan from a bad credit lender

Do credit cards enjoy to be compensated rotten by individual estate due to passing?
Question:
does a persons estate return with charged for any unpaid credit cards balances after demise?
Answer:
Yes and No.
Each estate has assets and liability even if those assets are zero and the liability are zero. If the liability are greater than the assets (or greater than the sellable value of the assets) the debts draw from paid within an order set by the state of residence of the motionless person.
Commonsense usally dictates the charge set by the state. Usually, the first debt that must be paid is the burial cost because that's more crucial than the charge-cards. Often, the costs of medical treatment, child support obligation, lawsuits, mortgages come before charge accounts.
It's meaningful to know that if the dead personality, say a father, vanished a life insurance policy near his wife or children as beneficiary, that money is not part of the estate but become the property of the wife or children at the moment of death. The credit card companies hold no claim to that money through the dead party because the dead individual never owned that money even if they paid adjectives the premiums.
If the person died short ANY money or property, and the debt was solely within their name, the debts cannot be collected no situation what a collection agency says over a headset.
Some forms of property automatically transfer to a spouse or "tenant-in-common" and the collectors can't touch that property. For those rules you have need of to speak to a lawyer contained by your state.
So the general rules are:
if the estate have money left over after burying the soul, the debts get remunerated first before the subsequent of kin get their money;
if the estate have only satisfactory money to bury the person, the personage gets buried and the collectors bring back nothing;
if the estate have no money, nobody gets anything and we entail to find a way to bury the personality through a pauper's grave.
Yes, absolutely. Sorry!!
They are a debt to the estate, so they are supposed to be remunerated.
What will normally ensue is the assets will have to be sold rotten and all debts repaid. For example, the house and saloon will be sold, the mortgage and loan will be repaid from the proceeds. Then the other (unsecured) debts have to be salaried.
If there is not plenty money left over to salary all of the debts, the estate become insolvent and the debtors / creditors will use lawyers to try and acquire a portion of their money before other creditors do.
If a soul is married and the debt is incurred before bridal, the surviving widow may not be responsible for the debt, but they will try to collect anyhow. That will require a lawyer.
Yes, when a party dies, their estate is responsible for their debts.
Yes of course.
A agency is trying to collect a DEBT that will be 4yrs out-of-date on 5/1/7.They already served court papers.do i retribution?
Question:
A agency is tring to collect a Debt that will be over 4 years old on 5-1-07 which process its SOL "statue of limitations" which means they can no longer collect, though they already served near me papers, do i still need to whip care of this issue even if it will be over 4yrs hoary by tomorrow?
Answer:
Just one question for you......
You said "The date of breach noted on the narrative was 4/30/03." ? Where did you see this reported? What proof do you enjoy this is accurate?
What type of loan was this? Car? Credit Card? Bank Loan?
The starting point of when the SOL begin can be different surrounded by each armour. For example, on credit card debts, the SOL begins on the date of the closing delinquency. If your last credit card bill showed due date of 4/30/03, consequently THAT is the starting of the SOL.
You need to be aware that oodles debt collectors may not know the correct date, or even outright lie around it. They illegally "re-age" the debt contained by order to return with around the SOL tolling.
Also, the advice almost collection agencies faking lawful paperwork is well certain. I have see them mail out the jam-packed out summons to a customer (never filed next to the court, just bursting out) in an attempt to terrify the debtor into paying.
So your first step is to verify that a court case really exists. This is checked by simply contacting the court and asking them.
If it's legit, you still own the legal right to emergency validation. But now it must be done through "discovery". You involve to file am motion near the court demanding that the creditor supply you with adjectives of the evidence they have, especially the contract, bills, and parcels sent to you demanding payment. A legit creditor will hold no problem supplying this info.
DO NOT take the word of a collection agent on when the SOL started! Make them verify this debt.
As long as you were served prior to the S.O.L. running out, you still must appear within court. If you fail to appear the court will issue a failure to pay judgment to the collection company.
what state are you contained by? a lot of collection agencies pretend to be decree firms or have court right to prosecute you please do not fall a target to their false statements when in genuineness all they are trying to do is bring in you pay. breed sure you do a search on this company and bring in sure they are some time of law firm if they are freshly a collection agency they have violated your FCRA rights. You can also call round FTC.gov for more information on this matter.
Ya, you involve to pay that. They served you in the past the account run statute.
If you call at odds counsel..you may be able to bring a settlement. Ask to pay a smaller amount amount and see what they say.
If you hang about for them to get their pronouncement than you will end up have to pay fees, interest, attorney fees, court costs..etc.
by the road...you have thirty days from the time they served you to directory an answer. If you do not file an answer a evasion judgment will be enter against you.
Filing an answer is you responding to the lawsuit. Thats when you will get a trial date and you will step to court. Seemingly, you know you owe the debt so go to court and articulate what?
As for the guy that told you..."a lot of collection agencies pretend to be imperative firms or have permissible right to prosecute".
No collection agency needs to pretend anything. They dont hold to be a law firm to sue anyone. All they obligation to do is hire an attorney if they dont have any contained by house.
You have be served, that means they already gone throught the courts...that money they are for real and aint playing around.
One debtor is too small for a collection agency to threaten or tale to. Agencies average millions a year. If they tell you they will sue you...they are not describing you a lie or threatening you...they are recounting you what is and giving you an option.
People who make a contribution you bitter responses toward collection agents and angencies do because they lost in some quality of battle. Meaning they dont know what they are doing.
Collectors and agencies hold nothing against general public. Its business. Someone has get to do it or there would be no bank for you to put your money in and write your checks out of, nearby would be no credit cards for emergencies, etc.
Also...you made your bed.
SOL...$hit out of luck.
If you hold any questions email me...Smile4cobra@yahoo.com
Good Luck
As long as the company file suit against you before the SOL runs out to be exact all that matter. The way the courts are it take a while to actually run to court.
If they filed suit on you and they win(which they usually will), depending on the state they will own several options. They could accessories your wages up to 25%, they could attach your bank accounts or even place a lien against any property you may enjoy. So if they are still contacting you to try and get the debt it might be honest to see if you can work something out BEFORE going to court. At this point they will probably want it in a tremendously short time, but if you can come up with it that may salvage you some troubles instead of letting it go to court.
Just if you settle since the court date make sure you receive it in writting and still progress to court. You will need to show the conciliator the agreement you made. If you don't you may still get a judgement against you because the lawyer involved may not know you settled.
Hate it for you. You tried to run away and hide and they get you.
Creditor say my credit is "thin" How to lift up my mark?
Question:
I am trying to purchase a house but my score seem too low. I do not own credit crads and cleaned all my debts and compensated off my vehicle. I thought it would help, but I appear to get penalize for being financially independent from credit companies. How to bring to the fore my score? I do not want any credit cards and own money to anyone bar my mortgage company.
Answer:
http://www.quickenloans.com/mortgage/art...
There are no quick fixes for doing very well your credit score. But you can bring to the fore your score over time by demonstrating that you consistently run your finances responsibly. Any of the following ten tips can help you to augment your credit score:
1. Pay your bills on the dot.
This is the best way to augment your score, and it's never too behind time to start. Even if you've had serious delinquencies contained by the past, those will count smaller quantity over time if you keep paying your bills in good time.
2. Keep credit card balances low.
High outstanding debt can verbs down your score. Don’t dance maxing out your credit cards all the time.
3. Check your credit report for meticulousness.
It’s possible that there may be not exact information on your credit report that can be easily cleared up (see How To Fix Credit Report Inaccuracies). If this proves to be the covering, then you should contact one of the three credit reporting agencies—TransUnion, Experian or Equifax.
4. Pay past its sell-by date debt rather than moving it around.
