Also, be aware of how the law define that seven years. In my feelings, it is seven years from the last movement. They only stay on your credit for 7 years. I would continue. Sometimes those creditors forget all more or less you, too.
If there is still a set off on the account next NO. You may have the best intentions of paying stale old debts but if you do, afterwards the bad credit from that time up until presently will affect your credit score VERY negatively. it's better to leav eit alone and count your blessings. And another entity; things don't leave your credit after 7 years. It will be dropped sour of your credit report after 7 years.

Each state have a statute of limitations on old debt. After a finite interval of time, you legally do not owe the money. But one phone give the name, one payment; any pursuit by you will start the clock over again.
If the debt was charged stale in 2000, it must be at least possible 7 years old presently. Find out your state's limits and after you can request the credit reporting agency to remove it.

Regarding a purchase mortgage1. If you shop around too much, it will lower your score

Yes to the one on getting to many inquiries into your credit can lower the number a bit.
i don't think i'm following your gobbledygook.
every time your score is checked by a financial institution, your ranking will lower. this is true.
the other thing...i don't comprehend your statement. You have a fanlight of at least 2 weeks to shop for your loan, if someone checks it departed the two weeks that the first person checks it, you will feasible get a 5 pt hit or so. Unless you are below 650 for your score 5 points won't really issue either road, but if you are then you do not want to play around... 5 points could fashion a huge difference in loan approval for a 6% or 10% loan. If you are below 650, also look into special programs like first time buyers and FHA. I have to go FHA on my first house.
Now, you will capture the hit on your score as economically if you apply for credit on a car or credit card as economically as the house. The credit agencies want you to own a home, it means stability to them. I wouldn't shop around TOO much next to banks you aren't habituated with. Maybe a few approaching Wells Fargo, a credit union, and US Bank or something. Credit Angencies product mistakes too, www.myfico.com has some perfect info.
There are also companies that will shop around for the best loan for you, I can't remember the name of who I used. They write it up after sell it to a local wall, they charge fewer fees than most bank too. If you really want to know who, email me and I will tell you. 1. Yes, if you verbs to have your credit pulled, it will beyond a shadow of a doubt lower your score.
2. There is no such entry as a window. Sorry.

Is a liquidation that have be dismissed any different than a ruin that have be discharged?
Apparently it started out as a bankruptcy chapter 13 however the final paperwork is a chapter 7. Any difference? on the credit report it states dismissed. What is the difference between discharged and dismissed?Answers:
Mr. Leibowitz is without doubt the most accurate, although I'm going to have to differ next to him on a couple of small points.
I think you've get that dismissal is bad and discharge is pious (from the debtor's viewpoint). From the creditor's viewpoint, dismissal is honourable, discharge is bad.
The federal liquidation courts have an excellent system certain by the acronymn Pacer (Public Access to Court's Electronic Records). With the debtor's name or social deposit number, it is a fairly simple process to look up the status of any person's ruin. Do not rely on any of the credit bureaus for information, they are notoriously wrong. I've included the Pacer website in the sources, however, it is a take-home pay site and you have to sign up for an details. The service is usually free if you care to drop by the local bankruptcy court.
As for the effect of Chapter 7 versus Chapter 13 on the credit, my experience is that Chapter 7 is far more beneficial on the credit than Chapter 13. You are completed beside the bankruptcy inside three and a half months, a bit than three to five years. You can immediately start working on doing very well your FICO scores and getting your go back beside a Chapter 7 and you can't do that with a Chapter 13 where on earth you are tied to the court.
Also, misinformation abounds something like how long items must remain on your credit. The definitive source is the Fair Credit Reporting Act. I've included the FTC site with the full transcript of the feat, but the applicable term for any ruin is ten years. The applicable code provision reads as follows:
a) Information excluded from consumer reports. Except as authorized lower than subsection (b) of this section, no consumer reporting agency may brand name any consumer report containing any of the following items of information:
(1) Cases under title 11 [United States Code] or beneath the Bankruptcy Act that, from the date of entry of the order for nouns or the date of adjudication, as the satchel may be, antedate the report by more than 10 years.
Sorry, that is probably track more than you asked for, but the misinformation was mindboggling.

"Dismissed" & "Discharged" is alike thing. After a liquidation is discharged, the old creditors can not dispute anything.
*******************
Credit Guru be right. I have included a relation to help next to the terms. After a "Dismissal" the debtor & creditor enjoy the same rights as they have before the ruin. After "Discharge" the creditor only have rights to what was settled surrounded by the bankruptcy.

CH13 is a verbs where you settle up back a unshakable percentage of the debt. A CH7 is a complete liquidation of all debt.

Cabletech is wrong.
A "Dismissed" Bankruptcy deem threw out the case and you still owe the debts. This is vastly bad.
A "Discharged" Bankruptcy skin means your satchel was successfully closed and adjectives your debts listed surrounded by the case be "discharged" meaning that you don't ever own to legally repay them.
You don't know what have happened near your own bankruptcy valise. You had to turn before the Judge/Trustee and swear an oath and answer question about yourself and your situation.
You own paperwork from the court showing the disposition of the case.
Good Luck
Lots of messed up paperwork.
If it say "dismissed" on your credit report, that may be a good piece, as it shows the bankruptcy never happen like Credit Guru said. I'm only just not sure why it's still listed on your credit report.
But....a Chapter 7 is far worse on your credit report later a Chapter 13. It also stays on your records for 10 years, as challenging 7 with a Chapter 13.
I'm going to bet that the credit bureau simply hasn't caught up on their judgement reporting all the same. Lets hope they don't. ;)
Absolutely wrong. Dismissed bankruptcy cases never result surrounded by a discharge of indebtedness. Dismissal may make refiling more difficult underneath BAPCPA, the new collapse law. Multiple filings are frowned upon unless nearby is good object for having done so.
Discharge surrounded by bankruptcy results contained by debts being eliminate. Not all debts are discharged surrounded by bankruptcy. More debts may be discharged below old chapter 13 than below old chapter 7. Now, a reduced amount of additional debts are discharged lower than chapter 13 than under chapter 7.
In assumption, chapter 7 should be worse than chapter 13 for your credit. In practice, both are just more or less as bad for your FICO mark.

Is an annual payment on a credit card like as a purchase?
My credit card company is charging me interest and late fees on their annual levy. Just want to know if there activities are validated.Answers:
Even though its an annual charge it will accrue interest in you do not income the whole go together off.

Other Answers:
Even though it's not a purchase, it is a stability on the card so I think it is subject to interest. You can appointment them and state your case, who know, they might give you some money fund.
I'd find a card that doesn't charge an annual fee.
In almost adjectives cases yes. When you applied for the CC you willingly agreed and agreed to pay the annual associated near that card. In order for that excise to be assessed, a charge against the account have to occur. That charge is also assessed in arrears fees, interest, over the limit fees, etc.
Always read the fine print.

it is not a purchase, but it is added to the match, so that means it does gain interest. it's totally legitimate because you agreed to it when you signed the application.
How much can a collection agency do?
I've heard conflicting things. I've hear that they don't have any permissible authority and can't collect a cent unless you voluntairly pay. I've also hear they can sue you. What happens if/after you distribute the cease communication reminder? Can they still go after you.Answers:
They can single keep sending you correspondence about the money you owe and put this as a gloomy on your credit report which will bring your score low, that's pretty much the singular things they can do.
Other Answers:
Probably not, but they can sure F-up your credit! The original creditor can absolutely sue you, and collect costs for having t hire a collection agency. If you still don't earnings, the original creditor can do genuine cute stuff, like put a lein on your home.
They will keep contacting you for clearance. Sometimes they sell your commentary to another agency and you will have a interval where not a soul contacts you. Depending on what you owe they can garnish your sandbank account or paycheck eventually. They will bring up to date all sorts of lies and use adjectives sorts of tricks to play on your ignorance. Knowledge is your best weapon. I've heard stories of collections agents describing people that they would see them out of their homes in the subsequent day or week or doesn`t matter what. The only channel they can kick you out of your house is through a formal eviction process and the individual way they can do to be precise if a judgement has be granted and the asset has be attached.
If collections agents are harassing you, under the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act you hold the right to send them a notification requesting them to call a halt and desist all further communications next to you. If they violate such an order I believe that you can later sue them under the provisions of the conduct yourself.
Collections agencies can't take anything from you short a court order or judgement. So if one have not been granted and an agent is threatening you after its likely a toothless threat. Please save in mind that if a judgement have been granted, they can lug certain types of assets (though I believe in attendance is an exclusion for personal items) and garnish wages.
The other item to look into is the statute of limitations. Depending on what kind of debt it is (secured, unsecured, etc) and what state you are surrounded by, the statute of limitations could expire after a few years and at that point all their official remedies are no longer applicable.
Regarding the credit report, yes they will mess up your credit report and score. The well brought-up news if you can phone call it that is that 7 years after the closing consumer based transaction, the fruitless debt account will plummet off your report. Some collections agencies may try to re-report the debt base on the last time the debt be sold or written off, but the canon in most states is that its from the ending time you did something (i.e. made a payment or other transaction). If they do a trick resembling this you should petition the reporting agencies to correct the mistake. Finally, if your situation is particularly stressful or problematic, you may want to consider professional assistance from an attorney.
If the creditors won't exit you alone and the threat of lawsuits doesn't back them stale, you can always do a few little tricks to maintain things at a distance such as make sure your phone number is unpublished and don't offer out that number to anyone you don't know (such as cable and other utilities which share information) and get your post at a p.o. box or mailbox place.
The ultimate solution as you would expect is to either remuneration your debt or to work something out. Many collections agencies buy debt for pennies on the dollar, so they may be willing to settle for a small fraction of the outstanding debt. You don't know unless you negotiate. Also in attendance are non profit organizations approaching Consumer Credit Counseling Services that can help negotiate plans as economically. Be careful though because not adjectives credit counseling services are legit and there are some nightmare stories something like some flyby night operation. I'm going through this terrible nightmare right presently. I bought a motorcycle, I lost my job and I arranged to turned it in, within another words REPOSSESSION. They were calling me everyday and I changed my home and cell phone number. But they found out where on earth I work and now they are calling me at work wise saying that they are going to sue if I don't pay the debt bad. I live in Texas and they can't accessories my paycheck but I'm afraid they can garnish my sandbank account. I don't gross that much either but I freshly can't pay right immediately $10,000.00 dollars!
if anybody has truly been sue can you please tolerate me know exactly what could happen?
how do I remove not fitting listings on my credit report?
Answers:
I can totally answer this. I have worked a while within financial commerce positions. Please follow these steps.
1. Get a copy of your credit rating from the 3 major credit reporting agencies. They are require to offer you 1 free copy of your credit report each year. OR could buy a copy at a local place in close proximity where you live (with identification) and it is roughly $35.00 for all 3 reports at once. These are scheduled in your local phone book.
transunion (1-8OO-916-8800)
experian (1-888-397-3742)
equifax (1-8OO-685-1111)
2. Once you find the credit report, examine it for accuracy. If you find errors, false reporting, things more than 7 years mature, or someone else using your identification (identity theft), next you file a form which is provided you beside the report. Each disputed report must be filed on different dispute forms so photocopy it as heaps times as you need. Then communication them back to the credit reporting agencies. Those reporting you hold 30 days to respond. It is a lengthy process but the singular true way to clear it. If someone is impersonate you, contact your local law enforcement official and file a report.
After you enjoy correct the reported errors get another updated credit report to net sure it is cleared and that your rating scores enjoy increased. Do this 1 time a year to maintain correctness.
