Was trying to help someone build nearby credit but didn't know there credit be so bad. Tried switching card to them solely but next to there credit so doomed to failure can't. Also having a strong time getting them to pay on card.Answers:
Guess lesson cultured. You NEVER do this with a friend and own flesh and blood is questionable. You have to verbs about your credit for the rest of your vivacity, so you need to be contained by control of it, not someone else.
Other Answers:
do the same.......................
Take them to small claims court.... Will youre not smart for getting a joint credit card story with a friend. You should send for the bank and see what they speak, try to cancel youre partially of the account.
Call company, cut off card, and sue your friend, and never, never do this again.
End the credit card. inform your friend if they don't pay you will bear legal handling.I would close the portrayal. If the amount your friend owe is not astronomical, go ahead and retribution off since closing. Tell your friend to pay you when he can. He will be any your friend and pay you or stop mortal your friend. Still better than ruining your credit. Don't ever cosign anything with a friend again. terminate the card to begin next to
then shift to their door and shoot their kneecaps , just similar to the loan sharks
He/She would soon be an ex-friend.

anyone know of a apt reputable non-profit credit counseling company/service?
Answers:
There are several reputable CC services, Genesis is one , but most city or county Govt agencies recomend a agency called consumer credit counseling services. Haveing checked on some of these agencies within the past few month, the Consumer Credit Counseling get my payment alot lower than some of the other ones so its best to try to check on a few to see what respectively may or may not offer you. Consumer Credit Counseling is a non profit agency that will set up and plan a budget for you and bring back most credit cards and loaners to either fall your interest rate or take the interest stale completley

Orchard Bank will hand over you a credit card.
the only instrument is a co signer or use some collateral for a secured loan.Could you have some teacher, minister or other well thought of pillar of the community, impart you a good reminder of reference. That might encourage a loan officer.
Local jewelry stores and other local stores are your best bet. Also there is a company call Fingerhut that often give credit to ppl that don't have a copy of credit. Also there are coup¨¦ dealers that bestow credit to ppl that have little or no credit, as long as you're employed. Also you could bring a "secured" credit card,(where you actually are borrowing your own money that they hang on to on deposit)But it does help build your credit rating.
Okay, you inevitability to read a book called "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. I am 30, and I preference I would have read this book final before I get my first credit card. I wouldn't worry in the order of getting a credit card right now anyway. But, I would read this book if I be you. It is a common sense course to look at finances, credit etc. This is the best piece of advice I can present you.
Do you have a dune account? Put some money into a funds account. Then budge to the bank and ask for a short permanent status note, speak 90 days. When you get the loan put it adjectives in your money account. Pay rear legs all the principal and interest when the make a note of comes due. This will establish your credit. The key is that you can't in fact SPEND the money. It MUST be there to pay envelope back the loan. Now that you own established credit you will be able to go and get a credit card.
Another route if you are a student (college-age) is to get a credit card from one of the offer which are available thru your college or university. These are readily available and the credit card companies love them because they know they will carry paid by your parents if you don't compensate.

I am a bill collector, and I will spare you the discourse of the evils of credit cards except to say do not, lower than any circumstance, charge more than you can pay rotten each month - or surrounded by two months at the most.
Having said that. There are banks adjectives over that offer secured cards. You bequeath them $300 to hold in an interest bare account and they bestow you a $300 credit limit.
I get my first card at Sears also.
If you've even gotten turned down by Discover, try getting a Secured Credit card. Or, a good pick is Capital One, which offers credit cards (with no deposits) for relatives with predetermined credit history. If you're in college, the college credit association should be able to serve.
Capital one is a good credit card.
You may want to do some research back you get into the world of credit to manufacture sure you are not being overcharged. There are credit card companies that will charge you a low interest rate for the first 3-6 month and consequently it will double or triple and you should have read the fine print.
Also nearby are many companies, credit league and banks that will issue a secured credit card next to a limit of $300-$500 dollars, but the arrest is you have to enjoy a savings explanation with the dollar amount within it for at least six month and it cannot ever go down below the secured amount. Use the card for gas or small items and pay it past its sell-by date completely each month and you will be on your process to building credit. Think of it as kind of a audition that the creditor want to see what you are going to do with credit and not ill-treat it.
Good luck and try not to get too abundant cards!!

What is the best credit card for me, I enjoy hugely little credit?
I am trying to get a credit card to start my credit, but so far I hve be denied by Capital One and Chase (Master Card.) I am a full time college student and I don't have a opening on the books. I applied for student cards, the ones that required little or doomed to failure credit, but I was denied. I be told that they denied me because I don't have plenty credit, according to a national credit report. But, I don't know how I am going to build credit if I can't get a credit card! If anyone knoes of a credit company that will endow with ma a card, please let me know!Answers:
This is one of the most adjectives questions on this board.
How do I build/establish credit?
First rotten you need to be learned about how credit works within the U.S. Every credit decision a lender make is driven by FICO credit scores. You can turn to www.myfico.com and look in the Credit Education sector to learn how FICO credit score are determined. To build your credit you have to place positive credit items on your report that will report positively for 6-12 months minimum. If you want your credit to be in the Excellent category (FICO rack up 720+) then your hope should be to have 3-6 revolving accounts(dept. store, gas cards, Visa. etc.) and 1-2 installment loans(car, mortgage) that are reporting positively.
I would start out next to a Bank of America or Wells Fargo secured Visa card. Both banks enjoy great programs with low annual fees, low starting amounts ($300.00) and no unwanted items fees. After 12 months of positive on time payments you will graduate to an unsecured status. Then you will probably be approved for other cards such as dept. store and gas cards.
P.S. Stay away from crap similar to entrustsystems.com. It is a major ripoff and DOES NOT HELP your credit. Also, most "pre paid" debit cards are a rip stale for the consumer. Just get a checking details with a VISA debit card.
Good Luck

Don't do it!! Worst mistake I ever made. Well, maybe that and my second wife... Get a work and they will start sending you pre-approved cc apps eventually. If you dont want to wait you can other take out a wall loan and pay it put a bet on in a month (rinse repeat). This will build up some credit.
either obtain someone to cosign on a department store card or do a prepaid mastercard/visa
Stop! You don't need the card..Just cut rotten them! Credit card will ruin your life..Source(s):
My experience
I wouldn't get a credit card if you already enjoy little credit. if you go over the set off of your credit card and are nto working to make payments you will be within debt for life... newly don't get one. Stay away from Capital One anyways. They still telephone call about my mom and my mom have been inert for two years. I've had upright luck with Discover. After you use it so much, you can acquire stuff back. They also enjoy an online payment system which is extremely convenient.
As long as you can get by minus credit, you are better. Don't use it except to buy a house, and even then if you don't enjoy to, don't.
You can start by getting a loan from a starter loan company. They will charge you a high interest rate, but if you wages it off impulsive, they will reduce or get rid of interest. They will explain all this to you when you achieve the loan. You can use things like a saloon, stereos, tv's etc as collateral.
What you do is, save up in the order of $1500. Get a loan for $1200. pay the majority payment for something like six months, then money it off. Don't use your $1500 for anything and don't use the loan money for anything. Just salary it back. The drive I say to liberate the money up is that number one, that money grows interst in funds. Number two, you will be incurring finance charges evertime you get hold of a loan. After you pay stale a loan at the end of the six months, return with another one. After you pay sour your first one, you will have ample credit for a credit card. But, this time, get two loans for $1200 and do alike thing. You will requirement to get them on like day, from two different companies. JUST MAKE SURE YOU DON"T SPEND THE MONEY...NO MATTER HOW TEMPTING. It's not really you're money. You really should one and only use the credit to buy a house. Using a credit card is using money you don't have. I know it's tough contained by college, cause you can't work as much and adjectives your money goes to university, so how do you eat sometimes? What happen though is you use your credit card, and before you know it, your interest add up and you can't afford to pay the minimum transfer of funds. I promise it's better to scrape everything you can together. Ask for comfort from family, friends, doesn`t matter what. Be an entrepeneur!!
i own the same problem i have a $600 weekly pay check and no credit here is what i did
1. apply for a small (co signed) loan $500-$1000 ish weather you have need of it or not, preferably a short term loan
2.clear it off when the bill arrives do not get double payments or pay ahead. (the idea is that the longer the time of pay return the better your credit is)
3. dawdle a few weeks after it is paid past its sell-by date and try to get a $500 credit stripe credit card if possible from the edge of which the loan was taken (credit union are easier to get these from)
4.if still denied use a pre rewarded credit card for a few months then repeat step 3 it may pinch a while but if you need credit you hold to start somewhere you can get a card at www.entrustsystems.com/wow short any qualifications or credit checks and even if you are unbankable. this card will give a hand you establish credit by tracking all of your non traditional re-occuring monthly bills such as cell phone, beepers, rent, electricity, cable etc. if you hold bad credit, this can also comfort you improve your credit evaluation.
How do you clear your credit report, With out have to settle the big $?
My parents used my s.s. number when I was too young at heart and they were too poor. I don't want to press charges or anything, but I would approaching to get myself a better vehicle.Answers:
the easiest way to find out (for free) what's on your credit report is to apply for something you'll be denied for. by decree, the creditor needs to dispatch you information regarding what reporting agency they referenced and what criteria be used for their decision. later you legally own the right (within 30 days) to request a free credit report from that agency.
any discrepancies you find, you can appeal -- often online through the credit reporting agency directly. it's a well brought-up idea to include personal explanations, too, for individual entries. most creditors will at lowest look at these comments. (you may have to be over-eager in getting the comments listed).
own you tried any dealers that bestow financing for those iwth bad credit? in that are some in in recent times about every nouns.

Now, to really answer your question. You don't own to press charges either and this issue should bear you about 45 days to clear up. And it's free (except for the postage).
First of adjectives, You need a copy of "Guaranteed Credit" by Arnold S. Goldstein". This book have sample packages for everything having to do beside credit repair.
Second, You need to read over "The Fair Credit Reporting Act".
I believe your precise case would go down under the guidelines of fraud. I would read through it, but it is somewhat extensive and covers deeply of ground. There should be something in within pertaining to your situation and that would be enough to attain all related items delete from your report.
And third, I don't know who suze orman is but I can tell you this. You hold the power to fix your credit reports, and in a relatively short term of time. It is true that you don't want to "hire" a company to it for you. And I am particularly interested contained by your situation, having parents who abused your credit until that time you were of age. I will do some research on my own for this one.
Oh, and someone answered just about obtaining your credit report.
Go to http://www.annualcreditreport.com for your free reports if you haven't already.
There are two approaches that I've hear of: blanket/repetitive challenges, and discrepency finding. The first is a brute force method, when they draw from tired of proving that they have a lawful claim on you, they don't respond in time, they enjoy to take it rotten. The second one is that if there's ANYTHING wrong with an entry, they enjoy to take it stale.
Both approaches cost money, but not much (tens of dollars per month, say $60-90) until you are thrilled with your chalk up (usually about 3 - 6 months).
How can I hastily augment my credit ranking?
I've made every payment on the dot for the past two years. However, I've taken out deeply of new credit and enjoy used a lot of it to start a strange business, which has lowered my mark.Answers:
Don't accept any unusual credit cards and don't close any unused credit cards. Continue to make your payments on the dot. The less debt you own, the higher your ranking goes up.
Remember: It take time for your score to raise. There's no quick fix.
Other Answers:
Theres no method to QUICKLY improve your credit, but if you havent run it into the ground if you cause your payments on time and payment above the minimum it should even out as soon as it can
pay the bills
Credit is a look at olden times and a prediction about the adjectives.
You can't 'quickly' improve your credit chalk up. It's a gradual process. You take small loans to start near, make payments on the dot, and convince lenders that you are a good risk.
Taking out profusely of new credit contained by a short period of time have got to be frightening to creditors. As you sort payments on all that tentative debt, your score will budge back up - slowly.
every time a creditor checks your credit your credit score will drop.
Pay your bills in time. Never spend adjectives money that you have on your credit strip.
Your debt ratio (credit used / total credit available to you) makes up in the region of 1/3 of you FICO score. If you want to save a decent mark, you should probably not use more than 30% of your total available credit. The quickest way to up your gain would be to pay down debt, roll fruitless debt (i.e. credit card debt, car loans, or other short-term credit lines) into moral debt (mortgage, or other long-term credit lines). You can take out a hot or second mortgage on a property that you own by using the equity as collateral, use the money from the mortgage to pay past its sell-by date bad debt, which will bring to the fore your score significantly. Then, once you hold a good ranking, refinance the mortgage at a better rate. You will still have impossible to tell apart ammount of debt -- perhaps even for a time more -- but your score could skip a hundred points or so in roughly speaking 6 weeks.
BUT, after you get the mortgage, close down your newer cards and lines of credit, as just about 15% of your FICO score is related to all along time that you have have the credit line. Though this will lift up your credit outstanding ratio, your score will also be artifically low if you enjoy too much credit available, because your credit history will show (and will continue to show, for the subsequent 7 years) that you have used large proportions of your available credit in days gone by.
And definately divorce yourself from your business. A business can have its own credit that doesn't adjectives need to be refelected surrounded by your personal score.
Pay your credit down (not other very straightforward, is it?). Seriously, if your minimum payment is $50, settle $75. Hell, pay $51. Paying more than the minimum on a credit card is gold ingots in the eyes of lenders. Also, QUIT SPENDING! Don't wages any credit cards off though unless you took a bread advance. In that satchel, get rid of the glorious interest rate NOW, by paying it off!
can a debt be added twice on a credit report after it have be over 15 yrs dated within nj?
Answers:

the fact is you would still owe this bill so why not settle it
Other Answers:
I don't know about New Jersey, but my intelligence is that any time a credit record is 'tickled', the 7 year expiration date on that entry starts over.
(I really could be wrong here, so ring me out if I am!)
So this would mean that if you evasion on a credit card in 1990 and on December 31st, 1997, the credit card company does something that cause a refresh of that dictation, like a 'we tried to beckon him but he didn't answer' kind of entity, then the text will remain until December 31st, 2004.
It may be that they can keep 'tickling' the commentary to keep it involved in a credit report.

Ms. Alaina K. Amason

San Antonio, TX 78247
Dear Ms. Amason:
This responds to your memo concerning the time limitations imposed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA") on the reporting of chargeoff accounts by a consumer reporting agency ("CRA," usually a credit bureau). We list your inquiries on this topic below surrounded by italics, with our replies in a jiffy following each item.
1. What reporting ends does the FCRA provide with respect to chargeoffs, and how long enjoy they been within effect?
Section 605(a)(4), which has be in effect since the FCRA become effective contained by April 1971, has other prohibited CRAs from reporting chargeoffs that are more than seven years old.(1) Section 623(a)(5), which become law surrounded by September 1997, requires a creditor that reports a chargeoff to a CRA to notify the agency (within 90 days of reporting the account) of "the month and year of the commencement of the delinquency that immediately preceded" the chargeoff. Section 605(c)(1) provides that the seven year spell begins 180 days from that date. Both provisions be part of the primary revision to the FCRA that were enact in 1996.(2)
2. Is the reporting time of year extended if (A) the original creditor sell or transfers the account to another creditor, (B) the consumer responds to post-chargeoff collection pains by making a payment on the debt, or (C) the consumer disputes the picture with a CRA? Does it situation whether the 7-year period have expired when any of these events occurs?
No. In enact the new provisions discussed above, Congress intended to establish a date dependable -- 180 days after the start of the delinquency that led to the chargeoff -- to set off the obsolescence period. It did so to correct the normally lengthy extension of the term that resulted from later events below the original FCRA. Enclosed are two staff assessment letters (Kosmerl, 06/04/99; Johnson, 08/31/98) that discuss the impact of these provisions, and the legislative history relating to their enactment, within more detail. Because the commencement of the seven year period is immediately described with some precision by the statute, it is our belief that none of the subsequent events you listed -- mart of the charged off vindication by the creditor, or a payment on or dispute more or less the account by the consumer -- change the allowable period for a CRA to report a chargeoff.
3. Since Sections 623(a)(5) and 605(c)(1) provide current rules for calculating the 7-year period that become effective within 1997, do chargeoff accounts now enjoy different obsolescence periods depending on when the chargeoff occur?
Yes. Section 605(c)(2) states that the section "shall apply solely to items of information added to the (CRA) file of a consumer on or after" 455 days after enactment, or December 29, 1997. Therefore, a chargeoff reported to a CRA on or after that date is subject to the topical commencement-of-the-delinquenc... method of calculating the obsolescence period set forth within Sections 623(a)(5) and 605(c)(1). On the other hand, a chargeoff reported to a CRA in the past December 29, 1997, is not covered by the new provisions, as discussed surrounded by one of the enclosed packages (Kosmerl, 06/04/99). If a credit account be reported as a chargeoff before that date, the Commission's landscape has be that it can be reported for seven years from the date the creditor actually charged it bad.(3)
The opinions set forth contained by this informal staff letter are not binding on the Commission.
Sincerely yours,
Clarke W. Brinckerhoff

Prior to September 1997, those amounts be $50,000 and $20,000, respectively.
2. The Consumer Credit Reporting Reform Act of 1996 (Title II, Subchapter D, of Public Law 104-280, signed into law on September 30, 1996), made copious other changes to the FCRA.

Possibly, yes. Your best bet is to allow a dealer to install a starter-interrupt device. This will allow the marketer to send an electronic signal to the sports car, keeping it from starting, if you fail to gross a payment as agreed. Typically, you would also be controlled to a less expensive saloon, perhaps $5,000, at a "buy here, recompense here" type dealer.

Yes, I believe you will know how to purchase a car - at a soaring interest rate. Make sure you read all the fine print. I would jump buy a cheap car and pay packet cash within full. You can negotiate the price with lolly, pay smaller number on car insurance due to plus and you own it (no collision). Then you can get hindmost on your feet as economically.

What credit agency do tangible estate agencies look at for rentals?
I want to rent a apartment and one credit agency shows better credit for me than the others. Who do home owners check your credit with when you rent near homes? (privately)Answers:
They actually obtain a compilation of your score- though a bank I worked for looked at Equifax mostly.
Generally consumers cannot check respectively other's credit scores, though here is an avenue that homeowners can use to check credit before allowing renters to rent from them. Again, it would be more of a compilation of your evaluation from all 3 credit bureaus. But across the world for renting you don't need as giant of a score as you would for buying a home.

Big or small, note any errors and ask the respective credit agency to investigate your claim. You may be capable of dispute the erroneous information online via a link from the page displaying your credit report (you can travel to each of the 3 reporting agencies separately; see below) but the Federal Trade Commission recommend you put your dispute in writing and transport it certified mail.
State why you believe the information is vague and request that it be removed. Include a copy of your credit report with the questionable information circled and copies of any supporting documents you be able to purchase.
The credit bureau will investigate your claim and if the information is indeed found to be false, you can ask the credit bureau to send a become aware of of the correction to anyone who received your report in the end six months.
The FTC even provides a form letter for disputing information on your credit report and the address of the three credit agencies online at its Web site, www.ftc.gov.
If an investigation does not resolve your dispute, you can ask to have a short explanation, written by you, included on adjectives future copies of the report.
Under current rules, what can you do if you freshly can't get your credit report corrected by taking the proper steps of writing to major credit bureaus?
An FTC staff attorney suggests:
oUnder the Fair Credit Reporting Act, you can write a statement of up to 100 words stating reason for disputing the accuracy or completeness of a credit-report item. Submit it to the credit bureau. Your statement must be added to your credit report at no charge.
oWhen applying for a loan, you may request contained by writing that the lender consider information indicating that the credit history being considered is not exact. "Regulation B," which implements the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, requires a creditor to consider that information.

Credit Plus offer assistance fixinf these problems within 7-10 days. Credit bureaus don't thought about what you dispute and don't really put a rush on things to fix it. First you have need of to contact ALL THREE credit bureaus: Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax, and put a notification on your credit bureau that you are a victim of fraud. They should also know how to help you bring phone numbers and addresses of the companies reporting the questionable items.
Then, you inevitability to contact EACH company that is reporting incorrectly and DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. Send them junk mail, call them, do what you obligation to in decree to have the questionable items removed. Keep a wallet of everything that you are doing. If you make phone call, write down names, date, and times of who you talked to and what in the order of. Keep a record of what they told you. Then followup, followup, followup. Keep after them. The bigger a throbbing you are in their backside, the more potential they are to help you... but other stay polite but firm.
Documentation is your friend. I can't stress that enough. The sooner you clear everything up, the smaller amount likely you will be bitten by this subsequent.
dispute everything...I mean everything on nearby...in 30 days, do it again...do the disputes online next to the individual credit reporting agencies....
then contact the creditors who are reporting the fraudulent or questionable accounts and balance and find out what their supporting documentation is...they should have something to clear up things for you.

You have received several really apposite answers here. The ONE thing I would IMMEDIATELY do is contact the three leading credit reporting agencies and ask to have a "freeze" put on your credit lines. This will require any credit granting outfit to contact and confirm with you directly that you are requesting a NEW credit splash before it can be granted. That will collectively stop anyone else from getting new credit within your name.
You will own to get your credit unfrozen formerly you can get any untried credit.
After doing that, I would begin to follow the righteous advice roughly getting fraudulent credit removed from my credit file.
Be forgiving, diligent, persistent, but most of adjectives polite. It will get things turned around. Eventually.
Best to you.

First of adjectives, consider leasing a car for 2-3 years instead of buying right in a minute. Take out some secured credit cards in the be set to time which should raise your rack up by then. Put the downpayment that would own gone towards the car toward the debt at the superlative interest rate that isn't being disputed. try to consolidate your outstanding debt and roll it into structured payments.
Please DO NOT buy this vehicle. It is a criminally dignified rate and once you drive your 24K vehicle off the lot, it will be worth give or take a few $16K if you're lucky.
You will NOT be able to refinance a vehicle within six months because you will owe much more than it is worth. Don't rely on this.
And credit disputes can take over a year of diligence on your fragment alone to get resolved.
Since your credit doesn't support a lower interest rate, move about for a used vehicle under 7K and label sure there are NO prepayment penalty.
You have to write to the credit agency and provide proof that the debt is not yours. They don't label it easy or quickly to do so.
