Anyone know roughly speaking how long it take for a check to progress through?

Question:

Answer:
Merchants and retailers now enjoy the option of 'scan processing' your check. Meaning that the fascinating numbers at the bottom of your check are linked to a web similar to credit cards. Hence, merchants and retailers are able to 'swipe' your check and debit your side instantly.

However, the merchant or retailer must be 'set-up' for this process. Most major merchant and retailers are already set-up and it is not long beforehand most others will follow.

Since there is no place that you can step to verify if a particular retailer is set-up contained by this way, it is best to enjoy the available funds in your article prior to the issuance of the check.
The newest systems allow them to process almost right away, so there is no longer the 3 daytime cat and mouse game of trying to gain the deposit money there surrounded by time to cover.
it depends on who took the check.
The days of 'floating' checks at businesses is OVER. Ended about three years ago. MOst nick a picture of the check and give it put money on to you. The removal of money is INSTANT from your bank to walmart and stores of the approaching. Almost like using a debit card when they money is placed on hold contained by your account while the administrator paperwork takes place
Sending a check contained by for payment is a bit different. Since it have to travel from your place to theirs and theirs is usually a drop box. Once there it will be processed by underpaid and overworked empire.

So I guess to answer your question I would obligation more information.
But no longer than 4 days would be my guess.
Your question is somewhat inexact but here are some answers. Local checks clear according to how often businesses gross deposits and whether the deposit falls on a Friday. Larger businesses like Wal-Mart across the world clear in in the region of 1 day, nearly impossible to tell apart as a debit card. A lot of cc companies are debiting accounts impossible to tell apart way as Wal-Mart, on the date they receive your check. It will articulate on the statements you receive every month if the money is automatically deducted from your tale when they receive the check.

Do u ponder CREDIT CARD COMPANIES are undermining the condition, stability, adjectives of the middle class?

Question:
Are the business practices of credit card companies undermining the health, stability and adjectives of the middle class?

Answer:
How can one possibly blame a credit card company for the actions of the nation who use the card. It appears that everyone wants to blame someone else for their personal failing. Let's put the blame where it belongs for a regulation.
No, that responsibility lies squarely on the shoulders of those that are misusing them. I agree that the companies are making it pretty easy, but it is resembling saying that the tobacco companies are the just ones responsible for lung cancer and that casinos are responsible for people having a bet away their life's savings. All are catering to our seemingly riotous and irresponsible behavior.
No. Unfortunately it's not the credit card companies who are to blame, but the entertainment industry for making eveyone feel that they are merely worth as much as the stuff that they own. Credit cards can be extremely beneficial when used right. Either way the credit card company does not force you to charge that flat blind tv that you don't need, nor did they hold a gun to your skipper and make you buy that duet of shoes. People need to start anyone more responsible for their own finances and stop try to blame banks and credit card companies. It's call a budget people!
No, I assume people that find the cards and can't control their spending are doing it. The companies don' t put a gun to every ones head and vote "You ARE getting this card and maxing it out." People need to realize they are responsible for their appointments, not anyone else. I over spent my cards in days gone by, have agreed responsibility long ago and am digging out of my own hole.

I'm not sure where the strength part comes contained by. Maybe stress over making payments, I think.

A motto comes to mind, "If you're gonna play, you're gonna pay".
Undermining ? I think that's the wrong word. Endangering is more approaching it.
It doesn't help, but I doubt it is the key cause. THe middle class does not HAVE to use those cards. The spending conduct is more of a cause, but the credit cards aid to these behaviour. Alan Greenspan stated that the greatest threat to the US economy is that Americans don't pick up enough money. My belief is the US establishment is the main threat. The Taxation system is bloodshed them. THe poor obviously get tax a lower percentage, but also get a lot of benefits. THe rich get paid a unharmed lot more and can handle the due, plus benefits greatly from the increase spending of the poor. WHen the poor gets money they buy more and the profits move about to the rich. For some odd pretext the democrats think the middle class shares surrounded by these profit?!! As the Democrats increase their social program and the Republican s increase their military spending, tax increase and it squeezes the middle class. Since the poor have huge numbers politician makes law to help them as very well as programs. SInce the Rich control vast money, the politicians protect them. THis leaves the middle class out surrounded by the cold. The government also have a policy to make things cheaper. The problem is that the price funds come from forcing the people to filch a lower pay. THe middle class is hurt more than the poor, because the poor is aided by increases contained by minimal wages. Outsourcing hurts the middle class that way, since they could catch someonein India or Philipines for 1/10th their price and outsourcing is increasing into new arenas. Outsourcing of job for the poor does not affect them as much because of the minimum wage and their job is not so specialized so they can move to a unmarked job well. Legal immigration also hurts the middle class. Companies use cartel like policy to freeeze pay for specialized job (middle class tend to be specialized) and then complain to the elected representatives that they can't hire people near in and so the establishment gives them a waiver to hire outside. This is done for job like nursing. The piece is if the government didn't allow this the company must make higher wages and more people would train for these job. In nursing wages increase and there for nearby is a lot of ancestors applying for nursing school. Lastly the elected representatives allows mega murger. Reagan is blames, but Clinton and Bush allow this to occur unchecked. Now that nearby are a few large company, when the middle class shop for job they have a few job to select. Less competition, means they could directly or indirectly set a lower wage for these job. The companies does not have to be at odds so hard for specialized human resources.
Yes.

Credit card companies extend credit to people who are financially shaky. Extend it far beyond what the empire can reasonably salary back within a reasonably amount of time. Then when the party misses or is late on a costs, and it doesn’t even have to be on the credit card, ANY LATE PAYMENT ON ANY LOAN OR BILL, can create the interest rate to climb so high that a character would spend years paying it off.

Then the CC companies push through a transfer on bankruptcy law, making it much harder to a person who is surrounded by trouble to get nouns. So the CC companies are extending even more credit to people who are financially shaky, and not embezzle any responsibility for the loans they are making. And even when a person proves they are a desperate loan risk the CC Company’s line up to administer the person even more credit. After adjectives the Credit card companies make most of their money from interest, and unsettled fees.

That said people who do use credit responsibility, find credit cards a extremely useful tool, I individually don’t like credit cards, yes I enjoy two, but if I don’t have lolly I don’t buy it. In cases of emergency I have credit cards, and I don’t show the flat panel TV is on sale so that’s an emergency. I plan someone died or my tires got slashed or I own to be somewhere NOW!

So yes the Credit card companies are to blame, not totally of course, but they are the ones making shaky loans.

How do we fix the problem, smooth cap CC interests rate at 2x the 10 Year T-Note, no more deferred fees, and require a 5% payment minimum. You’d see credit cards becoming scarcer. The CC companies would manufacture better loans and the problems we see would slowly disappear.

But this is just my belief.

ATTN bankers: What are the worst & best credit score you've ever see?

Question:
Most of us are aware that FICO scores variety from 300 to 850, with 300 anyone reserved for the people next to the absolute worst credit, and 850 person reserved for a few elite relations with definitely perfect unshakable credit. It is hard satisfactory to get over 800, tolerate alone 850.

Has anyone(who works in finance) see a score that be very close to any 300 or 850? If so, what types of things(collections accounts, long-standing cards, tons of loans, etc) on their report affected why their evaluation was so extremely giant or low? I've heard that it is possible to go and get a 300, but I don't think I've ever see anyones' score lower than a 420. Anyone?

Answer:
The worst that I've see was a 382. I in fact had to do a double-take to trademark sure that it wasn't a typo. But before anyone jump to conclusions, it was a travel case of identity theft of a friend of mine that happen to him while he was incarcerated. His womanly dog of an ex girlfriend opened up 9, yes 9 credit cards simlutaneously, a saloon loan for her boyfriend at the time, rented a townhouse that they trashed, numerous utility bills, and some other stuff that it pains me to remember.

It took us almost 4 years to finally get that straightened out and her surrounded by jail and immediately his credit score is a fully clad 696.

The highest that I saw be 813. It was this elderly woman that be my parent's neighbor for 10 years. When I was younger she have added me as an authorized user to most of her credit cards so that I could help her near grocery shopping and paying bills. Out of the 47 years that she had credit, she be late individual ONCE. And that was becuase she be in the hospital and didn't return with a statement while she was near.
Worst: 486
Best: 800
Best: 831 (best middle score, 823)
Worst: give or take a few the same 420 band. Been a few years since I've seen anything that crappy though, thank god.

I've never see a score origination with a 3.
Best I ever saw be when I worked for an auto dealer, it be an 846. The worst I ever saw was also at the auto provider, it was a 412 or somewhere close that.
I knew a guy contained by college who screwed his credit so bad that his mark was 412 when he get it checked after college. But this guy was so fruitless with his debt it almost looked similar to he was trying intentionally. In trueness you almost have to work at it to acquire your score much below 500...

My mortgage broker told me that the irony of super elevated credit scores (780 plus), is that most of those culture have carried some serious debt contained by their lives. But they have basically manged to carry it hugely well. My parents enjoy a 1 million dollar mortgage but have credit score lower then mine.
I'm not a investment banker, but I am a credit counselor.
The worst score I've see: 410
The best: 774

The 410 had loads of collections and charge-offs, a few judgment and a tax lien.

The 774 be newly-estblished credit - her longest history was 2.5 years, but everything be perfect.

After you settle up bad a credit card, does cancel the card hurt your credit?

Question:
My credit limit on my current card is solely $300. I want to open a card in need a different company. Once I pay it rotten, will cancelling hurt my credit?

Answer:
YES. This is because chunk of your credit score is comprised of factor such as "Types of credit," "Length of credit history" and "Debt to credit limit ratio." If you payment off a card to 0 and hand down it open, to be precise the best bet because then your debt-to-credit confine ratio will be 0%, which helps you to enjoy a better score.

Also, "length of credit history" plays a role. The longer you've have credit accounts, the better your score will be. Closing an depiction reduces the average age for your other credit accounts, unless your $300 card is strictly new(opened within the concluding 6 months) and you have other cards that own been embark on longer.

Lastly, the credit score looks at "types of credit." It is suitable to have a well-rounded series of credit, ranging from credit cards to store cards to auto loans to mortgages to personal loans. If this $300 card is your single credit card, then likelihood are your score will progress down because you will not have another credit card to substantially replace the $300 one.

So don't close the commentary...pay it past its sell-by date then confer on it open. Unless it's one of those rip-off cards that charges and arma nd a leg contained by annual fees. Or unless you have tons of elder credit cards with larger, better-established credit confines.
It can. Wait awhile before you retract it. It can actually benefit your FICO to own a zero stability CC account. Just cut up your card so you don't use it.
No it if truth be told should help it because you salaried off a bill.
I would recommend against cancelling it, if you foot it off and cut the card up afterwards you will have shown that you can handle your available credit which is more appealing to new creditors. If you reverse it, then you will own $300.00 less within availble credit which ultimately hurts your score! But cut the card up so you can't use it. That is what I did next to one of my cards. Every month my Gym membership is charged to this card, and I take-home pay it online so that the card shows activity. Good Luck!!
No, of corse not! But paying bad the card you have &, applying for a current car will minister to you in getting the foreign card. Don't cancel the frail card till you get the exotic one!
actually by canelling the credit card you will injure your score because it will show up as if you couldnt button the credit line.. for most cases it is best to enjoy 3 sources of revolving credit (either active or not) so have some credit lines open will relief you prove that you can manage debt and so thus your score will be better by a few points. You can also ask the current credit card company for a limit increase but alot of companies will confer you and automatic line increase by on the dot paymenst and frequint use.
It can, considering the fact that 15% of your ranking is comprised of the length of history that you hold. Let's say that you've have that card for a year or two and you cancel it, after that payment history is GONE, which would shorten your credit history. Acutally, you could use your credit card as leverage to negotiate for a lower interest rate or even a higher credit queue.
It wont lower your score alot, but it will constraint your credit history. And in a sense that will bring in it harder to raise your ranking in the adjectives.

The best thing to do is preserve it open, I don`t know put a tank of gas or two per month on it and after just it down.
DON'T CLOSE THE ACCOUNT! Pay it within full if you want but don't close the account. 35% of the credit is artificial for the credit history. if you have an embark on account since 00 beside no lates will give you more points(credit) than a closed tale!

prenups and debt?

Question:
me and my boyfriend are thinking about getting married but my former credit history is making him nervous. we really want to capture married but he has almost best credit and i have really really desperate credit and a lot of debt from mistakes when i be younger. if we have a prenup truism that he is not liable for any of my debt will taht work to protect him? and will my credit effect his once we get married or is nearby a way to hold it seperate? does this only work within certain states/cases? i really want to marry him and i know its going to thieve me a while to pay sour my debts, and i definatly dont want it to effect him since its not his responsibility. thanks!!

Answer:
In adjectives states, you are separate as to debt so your credit history won't affect his.
You will find a problem with things similar to buying a house, though. If you want to take title surrounded by both names after the mortgage lender will have to enjoy you sign on the mortgage. The credit history will impact that.
Sorry Honey,
But when you marry someone you also marry their debt. Your best bet would be to look up ways to improve your credit chalk up. Like a consoladation loan, or eventually getting another credit card and paying it every month to get a better credit rating.
when i be deep within debt i used this page to compare different options available to me. worked approaching a charm!
he's not responsible for your past debt, but anything you mutually sign to, then he will be responsible.

state law vary, but if he didn't sign to it, he is not responsible.

if you want to marry him you are and will be his responsibility. he could lend a hand you pay down debt if he considered necessary to.

My co-signer file ruin & I'm still paying rationalization. It shows on my credit report. does it affect ranking

Question:
My parents filed chapter 7 liquidation in 2005 and they have co-signed on a car loan for me. When I verbs my credit report it states unrated bankrupty but shows the account stipend never being unpaid. I called a consumer agency on the internet and they said it Does negatively affect my chalk up, just by have the word bankrupcty contained in my report. But I've read a similar answer on this page that states it have no affect at all. Which is true? I've tried disputes beside the bureau's and they never remove the "bankrupcty" part of it but show that it's man paid as agreed.

Answer:
First you should find out what your credit ranking is.Call the 3 credit bureaus and request a copy of your credit report and pay for your mark. Anything over 700 is great!. 600+ good. 500+ fiesta and anything under specifically not desirable. Once you have your gain then you will know where on earth you stand. The score that you purchase from the credit bureaus give you an analized breakdown each and every factor to be exact affecting of benefiting your score. The payment for this is relatively inexpensive, anywhere from $5-$15. If the bankruptcy is affecting your gain it will let you know. A credit win is formulated by soo many different facotrs rate on a percent form. For example: 15% of the score is your credit cut back to debt ratio and 35% is your payment history ect. You might want to consider removing your parents in a minute that you have a history next to the finance company. You might also want to refinace so that you dont include your parents contained by the new loan. Hope this help.
First, you need to try and get hold of your parents off your loan. If you hold established a long credit history with this lender, and you r income is safe and sound, they may agree to remove them from you loan. Problem solved.

If not, you will need to play hardball.

Remember, the CREDITOR is the character who posted this "unrelated bankruptcy" information to your credit report.

Contact them and ask where surrounded by the Fair Credit Reporting Act it says they can post OTHER PEOPLES public paperwork to your credit report. It's not there.

Then point out that if you record a lawsuit, they can be sued for a variety of things including:

1) Defamation
2) Negligent Enablement of Identity Fraud
3) Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act

I've have a couple similar situations where I've help people on incorrect reporting of bankruptcies. Once I threatened legalized action the offending reports suddenly disappear.
I co signed a loan for my daughter and it be as if the loan was totally mine. The loan be always considered if I needed to apply for any other credit. I believe it does lower your credit score. You can receive a free copy of your credit report once a year. It might be worth it to see how it reads at ALL 3 credit reporting agencies. Believe me they don't own the same information.
It will stay like explanation b/c whether or not you are in Bankruptcy, the Account itself that you own is part of the Bankruptcy when it is included surrounded by your parent's bankruptcy.

If you budge to apply for credit, they actually look at your credit and will ask you something like it seeing that none of your other accounts display that and there may not be a public text note of a ruin. Simply provide the place you are getting credit from with a copy of your parent's petition and simply agree to them know that your parent's filed and that you spawn payments.

Once the Bankruptcy is over, you can contact the bureau and have it removed.

Don't be afraid to have a chat to your parents about it. Their attorney have probably explained this scenario to them.

You could try to call the company that the report it with, but it is a possibility that they may not speak to you as the picture is in Bankruptcy and it might be a defilement of the stay.

Don't fret it though.
It's not clear to me why your parent's bankruptcy is on your report, but you can other have the credit bureau tag on an explanation to any item. Put in that it's not your liquidation, but your parents that they are referring to.

Hospital co-pay should not be due after you are admit right?

Question:
I have a hopital calling me to collect on a co-pay when I be admitted to the hospital surrounded by 2005. My insurance waives the co-pay if you are admit. I was a bearing in to the ER at 5pm and be admitted unpaid that evening. I cannot remember the exact time. I stayed over night surrounded by the hospital and was discharged at 9pm the subsequent evening. Now they are trying to say that I be only within for observation and I owe the co-pay. I know for a certainty I was admit and had to be released by a doctor formerly I could leave. What can I do?

Answer:
Talk to your insurance company.
no, they waiver the co-pay when u r admit normally.
Depends on your insurance company. My wife go to the ER and was admit to the hospital, but we still had to salary the $50.00 co-pay. Considering everything they did and what the final bill came to, I'm indebted that I'm only getting stuck paying a $50.00 co-pay...
Request a copy of your medical history. By law, you enjoy a right to them. It should show you were admit and discharged. The hospital should have collected your copay when you walk after the hospital (like my husband).
keep asking to speak to supervisors until you grasp a satisfactory answer. you rate for health insurance so, gain your money's worth
Your insurance may have an ER copay. Most do,it's usually $100 and is waive if you are admitted. On top of that unless you enjoy 100% coverage your insurance will pay the amount they owe. Most policies ar a 80/20 import they will pay 80% and you will wages 20%. This involves what they will pay surrounded by addition as to how much they will apply to your deductible. So if your bill is $1000, they will pay packet $800 and you owe $200 plus whatever the ins. co applies to your deductible. Pay up on the bill. It will affect your credit for at least possible 7 years before it is removed.
If you be discharged at 9pm the next hours of darkness, then you WERE single there for inspection. There are two types of admissions: 23 hour close watch, and full admits. You be a 23 hour obs. That doesn't mean you weren't admit to the hospital, but you were not a full agree, which may be what the insurance company is saying. I'm not up-to-date on adjectives insurance policies, but obviously yours have that if it isn't a full admit, after they aren't paying. Which is kind of crappy.

If i bought something on the closing date of my credit card bill, will it be on my subsequent statement?

Question:

Answer:
If you bought it on the closing date, I think it will be included contained by your current statement. Anything you buy the day after the closing date, I chew over will be included in your subsequent statement.
It should be. Depends what time of day you bought the item. Buying after 5pm insures it'll be on your subsequent statement.
Most likely, in that is a small possibility that it will be on the current statement, but I don't think so.
most feasible,as it might not get into the system hurriedly enough to be on current months billing.
