Statue of Limitations for Debt?

If the statue of limitation have expired on a bill, I know the creditor cannot seek a judgement against you, but can they report it negatively on your credit report?

P.S. This bill is not on my credit report and is more than 7 years dated.

Will this emulate on my credit...main stress right immediately!!?

Answers:   As long as the reporting time line have passed which is 7-years from the date of first delinquency then to report the sketch on your credit would be a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and also would be a $1,000.00 fine for whoever reported it.

Is this a fraud I decree May 5 until in a minute i don't enjoy the tablet?

Actually, some collection agencies will record lawsuit even if the Statute of Limitations (SOL), the timeframe to bring lawsuit, has passed. They hope you don't show up so they can obtain a default perspicacity. You would have to show up and present the SOL as an affirmative defense. Technically no but a moment ago because the SOL has expired does not stingy you don't still owe the debt. You do and they can still try and collect.

Spifi is correct. The SOL and 7 year reporting period are not related. They are not supposed to. That is why you call for to watch your credit report.
