My biggest question is, where on earth in the timeline of my mortgage does an extra principal clearance apply? This is all hypothetical...but, read aloud I just started a $44,000 mortgage for 15 years. My fee is $400 each month and I'm paying $400 within interest only. If I be to pay a $22,000 principal compensation would it make my subsequent payment $200 interest merely or would it still be around $400 interest but for 7.5 years.

Answers:   If you have an interest individual mortgage, every time you make a transfer of funds towards principal it will reduce the subsequent payment because you cannot salary interest on principal that does not exist. It is reflected contained by your next payoff.
