Answers: He will be an independant assessor who will give an unprejudiced valuation on your claim.
The first person to enjoy been to see you will probably own been a representative of the insurers. The loss adjuster will be any have be appointed from within the insurers (an internal loss adjuster - they do exist) or they may be a third-party loss adjuster. They will assess the destroy and report back to the insurers who will form a decision how to proceed base on the report. The insurers can choose to take into consideration the contents of the report or could even completely disregard it - the report is to see them to make a conclusion. They will be paid by the insurer but I do not know if you capture a copy of the report so if the damage is great it may be an concept after some thought to appoint your own loss adjuster to negotiate on your behalf. They at least read between the lines the policy and the law trailing it better than you do and he should save at smallest his fee. If it is a small claim it may not be worth it
The loss adjuster is appointed by the Insurance Company to toy with the claim on THEIR behalf. They are NOT independent.
A loss adjuster (eg.. Cunningham Lindsey) is the opposite of a claims assessor (eg. AJC Consultants). An assessor can be appointed by YOU, the policyholder, to conduct yourself on YOUR behalf and obtain for you the utmost possible settlement.
