The work culture of LIC's public dealing staff is still old fashioned. They rebuff to realise that times have changed. I believe it is time LIC should absorb some reputed pvt players to manage its day-to-day operation to compete with the pvt insurance entities. The present staff man the sections should be given the remedy of VRS or change their attitude.

The mindset of most of the middle and lower lever staff is impossible to tell apart as it was when LIC have the monopoly. Their behavious is discounteous and still believe that policyholders has to come to them anyway. At tiniest 80% of them do not appear in bureau before 11.30 am.
One apology could be that they are grossly under salaried compared to their counterparts in pvt sector. Considering the current living cost they should be amply compensated. The corporation should also look into the matter. And obviously they can introduce a system of rewarding the honest and hardworking ones.
